You may remember Proposition 8 that was past last November in California which banned gay marriage within the state. Recently a very religious group that has ties with the Proposition 8 movement is now pushing for a new initiative thatwillbe voted on in 2010. The bill is entitled the "2010 California Marriage Protection Act." and it has a very simple objective.

No party to any marriage shall be restored to the state of an unmarried person during the lifetime of the other party unless the marriage is void or voidable, as set forth in Part 2 of Division 6 of the Family Code.

Quite simply this group aims to ban divorce indefinably within the State of California. Mind you this is not some halfhearted attempt by a few religious radicals it's a full blown movement, they even plan to have A Wedding March on the Capitol. As a recent resident of California I can tell you that I see movement everywhere; PSAs and Billboards ect.

Religious or nonreligious, agree or disagree is of no relevance that's not my point. My point is the irony, the sweet delicious irony that's so thick you could drizzle it over steak and have it for dinner. If you're a Catholic of any denomination that opposes gay marriage this bill should make perfect sense to you, because getting divorced is against the word of Jesus seriously look it up, Mark 10:9-11.

However there are many people that oppose gay marriage that have no religious affiliation, they simply deem it unnatural and when it comes to child rearing there belief is having a same sex parental influence is damaging to a child's development and at it's worst just yields more homosexuals as it is their belief also that homosexuality is a lifestyle choice and not of biological origins.

It's these people who's opinion on this matter I'd like to hear.

We saw this happen with the recent Presidential election, many people voted for Barrack Obama without actually knowing what he stood for, and now that the deed is done they find themselves realizing that they don't actually agree with his policies.

So for those of you that oppose gay marriage but are not of a practicing religion or frankly not religious at all how do you feel about this bill? How do you feel when somebody else tells you what you can and cannot do with you're personal life? What do you think is next? Banning single parents? Marriage screening processes or child licenses?

I hate Gamestop.

As a citizen of these United States I choose not to shop at Gamestop because I've had some very unpleasant experiences there. I buy my games elsewhere like Walmart of Bestbuy or Game Crazy or some other retail store. Gamestop however is largely unchallenged in specialized video game only stores ever since they bought out EB and they've employed a really dirty marketing tactic that forces game enthusiasts to shop there. I'm referring to this whole phenomenon of "Pre-order only content" and it's really starting to piss me off.

Initially it was harmless enough, ya know something like "Pre-order Mirror's Edge get a free tote bag" or something but anymore if I don't pre-order a game from Gamestop I'm blatantly refused game content indefinably or have to wait until it becomes DLC and fork over another 10-15$ (or sometimes more) to access it.

I understand games need to sell and I also understand that developers as well as retailers owe me nothing but this just feels like a slap in the face. Point in case is the new "Assassin's Creed" game. I loved the 1st game and am really looking forward to the sequel so you can imagine how upset I was when I walked into Gamestop and handed over my 5$ for a pre-order just so I can play the advertised "Pre-order only content". That's really what I'm upset about the fact that I can't do anything about it, if I want full access to my game I have to buy it at Gamestop; they've got me by the nads.

A question I have regarding this whole situation is how is this all worked out a la developer and retailer? What I mean to say is this. So a game development company spends 3+ years making a game and then Gamestop says "Make this level pre-order only so our company can get more money of the pre-order sales." and the developer just nods their head yes? Or does the development company go into the project knowing that they will be making pre-order only content? Does the developer get a cut of the pre-order sales? What the hell is going on here? It does not make much sense to me, because if the benefit is for Gamestop's bottom line only it's seems pretty mean that developers are just refusing content to their fan base.

Again this is a little bit of a rant but I would like to know how all of this works.

As a total Final Fantasy fan I must say that I really hated this game.

I just felt the story was far to convoluted (even for a Final Fantasy game) and the ability system takes way to long to get the hang of.

I'll put money that you haven't played them. Halo Wars was really mediocre I'll give you that but ODST is fantastic. Think about that for a second, 3 million dollars that is a lot of money and that doesn't include paychecks for the people involved who actually make the game. Now I'm not innocent here I've got utorrent installed just like everybody else but maybe it's time we cool it.

My point being that with the total mobbing of game torrents we have damned ourselves. Companies need money to make games and when we the consumer put of barriers for them we get a lesser quality of game. We have to wait longer for better titles and they prolong release dates. I realize it's hard to compete with free but I think this really needs to stop.

Yeah speaker systems are a whole different ball game. Sony actually does a fairly decent job in that department, and in that aspect so does Bose. The Bose companion 5 series which is what I have is fantastic. The clarity could be a tad bit better for the price, but as far as I'm concerned your paying for the awesome surround sound aspect. Three little speakers and an average sized sub woofer put brands like Dolby to shame it's a good product.

They make everything and their just unparalleled in quality.

I got a pair of HD595s from their audiophile collection. Not cheap by any streach of the imagination but holy shit was I worth blowing a whole paycheck on.

For you, I recommend AKGs though. Good entry level headphones for people looking to make a jump into a higher quality headphone.

Or you could stick with skull candy, if you like crappy drivers and bass to the max.

To often anymore do we see users with recent sign-up dates and literally thousands of post. While being an active member of the Newgrounds community is encouraged most of these post end up being reposts and spam. Lurking has for some reason become a dirty word on the Newgrounds BBS, instead of waiting to post in an orginal topic, making an orginal topic or even genuinally comming across something interesting or fun on the internet everybody seems to just striving for that post count +1.

The purpose

The purpose of the Newgrounds Lurkers Crew is to relieve spam and reposts from all of the message boards on Newgrouds. If you are truly interested in helping this cause just follows these rules.

Ideally I'd love for this thread to become a place for old discussions past, here is what I mean by that. Lets say I have an opinion about communism, I know for a fact that there are many topics on the political fourm that deal with this subject matter. So I would go to political fourm and search various keywords that deal with what I wanted to post.

If I found a topic that was agreed with or was what I wanted to say and was more that three days old, instead of bumping it back to the top I would take the discussion to this thread. Provide a link and state my side of the argument. This way spam, reposts and unnecessary bumping are avioded and the topic gets brought back into circulation.

It may take a little longer but in the end it will lead to less congested boards and more orginal content.

Guidelines

- You user page is there for a reason! Youtube videos, personal problems and "hey look I found" topics do not belong on any of the fourms they belong on your blog use it! If people are intrested then they will post on your blog about it.

- Stop flame wars. The PM system enables users to directly contact the person they wish to speak to. So instead of bumping and old topic to insult somebody why not just PM them?

Of course none of this will work unless you guys help the cause. If you'd like to really participate then links to this topic in your sigs would be much appreciated and also legitametly following the guidelines is a must.

I actually knew of this book and it makes me laugh. A cell processor is a cell processor you could technically put any one you'd like into an game system if you were building one from the ground up for mass production so long as the rest of the hardware could support it.

A big selling point for playstation 3 ( or at least for the marketing team ) was it's heavy duty hardware, and for a while it was accepted that it was. Then as both console starting to mature you could see that both for the most part were on the same playing field. The underlying difference between Sony and Microsoft is that Microsoft is not afraid to upgrade over time. They beefed up the 360 in summer with their band new Opus chipset boasting an IBM microprocessor and an AMD/ATI graphics chip that are both manufactured in a 65-nanometer production process.

Also if Microsoft did "steal" the plans for their processor they might now want to tell anybody because lately it seems that Microsoft is doing more with it.
