Actually it's killed at least 3 people in New York City alone. However, your point still stands, the hype is a bit much.
Well I thought it would've killed more, but still. It's just making people scared for no reason. That's the worse thing.
Like the world health organization didn't even hold a meeting when the person dies in Texas and the infected numbers went over 1000, and people saw that as a sign of it being the end.
