I'll get Flash CS4 whenever I get a new computer, but for now I'll just say I'm lovin' mah Flash 5, Flash MX 2004 and Flash 8 Professional, that are all installed to this computer the same time.

So I can use the nostalgic Flash 5 or the sweetie Flashie 8, oh yes!~

All gotten legally by the way, piracy ain't good.

Ah well, gongratulations to ixintro!

I was quite surprised that this list contained a lot of flashes I had seen before but forgotten completely.

Wait a minute... Charlie The Duck? I could swear I have played a game on Windows 95/98 that had that same duck in it!

It was just an old freeware(?) PC game and not a flash though.

I don't mind bumping, if it's for a good reason and the thread itself isn't some spam or just wannabe-one.

Really, no.

I welcome if someone bumps an informative/good thread for good purpose and that's it.

I only hope the same could happen to the crap that gets stolen from Newgrounds, seriously, it pisses me off when they just go like "oh, wow, cool flash! I'll take it and give no credit! I'll get subscribers and comments! YEAH!"

I actually like it more that the illegal stuff on YouTube gets removed and the original stuff stays.
Some trailers and teasers are nice on YouTube though, although they break the terms of use too.

But can't complain because they are easy way for attention towards the movie/game/etc.

Antti (Ville Tapio) "Kilappa" Holappa

Antti - Common boy name in Finland, bended from the english one "Anthony" I think.

2nd & 3rd name:
Ville - Another common finnish boy name, root unknown for me
Tapio - Less common name, roots from the finnish translation of bible I think.

Nickname:
"Kilappa" - What my friends say about my last name, also quite rare last name in general.

Last name:
Holappa - One of the biggest families in Finland, roots from russian noble who escaped to Finland. The earlier forms were "Hopappa", "Hoppa" and so.

Topic: Today's Games are too short.

At 10/20/08 09:22 PM, beautheschmo wrote: I think they are making games shorter nowadays because the average person is a lot busier than they were ten, twelve years ago. As a result, people have shorter attention spans. Nobody wants a game that takes 75 hours to finish, because it would take 3-4 weeks. A couple years ago I played through Tales of the Abyss (45-50 hrs) twice in one week, but now that I'm in college, I can't even play all the way through games like Final Fantasy 9 (35-40 hrs). I played it for about 15 hours in one week, and I can't even remember where I am. Bottom line, games need to be shorter, because otherwise, not a lot of people will make it to the end and get the full effect of the story.

I seriously love games that take long to finish, for example Final Fantasy Tactics A2: Grimoire of the Rift...

I have been playing it for almost 50 hours now and only done with 1/3 of the total amount of quests.
Only expection to "take long to finish" games are Metal Gear games, which are quite short, but they have quite high replay value due to the epic story.

I either want a game you will be playing the next couple of years non-stop or games you play through again and again.

But gotta take that to attention that as we get new and better consoles it takes more space from the disks / gamepacks to make the better graphics together.

But I'm not graphics-faq so any game that has simple and fun gameplay is for my liking.

if it's lengthy because of the bigger amount of space to spare for that is also a big plus

It's not a real shadow.

A and B are the same colour.

There was another illusion like that but it worked the way I mentioned, but now that I checked it on paint (taking the squares next to each other) I feel little stupid inside.

A and B squares are different colored.
The shadow that goes over the B square makes it the same color as A.

That's how it works, it's just an optical illusion for your eyes.

With something like Homestar Runner they could have done it a lot better pretty much in everything, I'm glad that I didn't download that game myself (but I have managed to play it), I will rather download a classic game off from Virtual Console than play that.

Mainly my only positive point for the game is the quite attractive name for it.

I would like third person over first person now that I think about it, I'm too used to be able to actually see Mega Man so suddenly going to his own vision it would look odd, for some time though.

Maybe not even that, as this is internet, it could be all wrong what Keiji has stated about MML3.

Anyway, back on to the topic, now that I think about it would be too much just Metroid Prime copy or something. As both characters have an arm with a cannon on 'em (although Mega Man can switch between them) and such.

That also being the main reason for Mega Man not being in Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Samus and Mega would just end up to be clones or something, maybe Mega Man would be more agile but whatever

They really would need to make something new to make something like this work.
All from the stage designs and bosses, it all would have to be made differently, but question: how?

It cannot be exactly like from 2D Metroid to 3D, that's for sure.

Well, I'll always like classical 2D platforming over 3D anytime.

In theory Mega Man first person shooter COULD work, but I don't think it would really feel like mega man game after being made in to that.

Of course if Capcom makes entirely new Mega Man series it might work better or maybe Mega Man Legends 3, although I believe MML3 would be in the same third person view though.

That is, if Keiji Inafune gets to make his dream come true, as on some wiki page Keiji was quoted to say that he has always wanted to make third Legends game. But because of the bad sellings with MML he hasn't been able to start such a project.

You will get blam points when voting 0 or 1 ONLY if the submission does get blammed afterwards.
And vice versa with the saves.

Also that you need to wait for the judgement state to end (which is when 200 votes have been given), it might take a while sometimes.

To me my favorite game series sure has gone downhill, so it would be Mega Man.

Especially the Battle Network and Star Force aren't really any mega man games, they are pretty good games, but they don't deserve to be called "Mega Man".

And then Mega Man ZX series is just really boring and all that.

Heck, I'm off to play the more classical Mega Man games.

I would go to the Audio Portal, get couple of songs and then go home animate.

Pretty much like this animation.

I do wonder how Flash Portal would be like, a giant movie theatre thing?
I would love to visit that a lot.

The biggest problem is that the city is would probably be in war so we have to avoid grenades and all that when we go to the shop get out daily stuff.

Wow, someone actually had the same thoughts as what I have.

But for the real damage thing... Seriously, I would rather have fun and die for fun in a game rather than break my legs for real, thinking I'm in a videogame.

Also I'm sure the thing would be really costy... I have better things to spare my money for.

Some Bill Gate's sons might get that for christmas if they have been good enough during the year.

Also this thing reminds me that there used to be somekind of video game typish thing, where you wore a helmet and sit in a chair. So with the power of your mind, you moved in the game (there were somekind of glasses that were in front of your eyes).

It was some maze game I think.
