If they cared about there children they would have came in legally in the first place so there would be no chance of that happening.

Response to: American President Posted October 25th, 2005 in Politics

I think that could have been cut directly from a hard right wing newsletter. oh and

And i never mentioned that he decided to let osama bin laden go, his one chance at possibly preventing 9/11 and he blew it. Just like he blew everything else.

that's the other way around:P clinton did do alot of good, if not in just getting other countries to like america again. And yes there was a surplus, but he got it in a way of cutting alot of vital programs and building them back up cost alot more then he sold them for. Oh and that little internet boom that lasted most of his term and and started falling shortly before he left office

There is a big difference between conservatives and moral conservatives. The guy we got in charge is a moral conservative. Just remember that.

Response to: Electoral Vote or Popular Vote? Posted October 24th, 2005 in Politics

We have the technology to count votes correctly for a popular system, so why not do it?
The only problem is fraud, I'm more likely to be able to cast my 200 fake votes in podunk bfe then a major city because security is that much smaller, you get enough of that going un noticed and the chance that fraud can over turn a major decision is that much higher, even more so considering we've never been split so evenly before.

Response to: Intelligent Design? Posted October 21st, 2005 in Politics

I think christians should adopt the mormon stance on intelligent design. a byu professor after getting some hastle for his research into evolution said "I have no doubt who created us, I also don't see where it says I'm not allowed to figure out how." not the exact quote considering I can't even remember the guys name, if anyone knows let me know.

Response to: Flash Live Webcam Feed Posted October 18th, 2005 in Game Development

It would be a little tricky if you just want it to play the webcam of the computer the document is on you could use somethin like this
http://nullorama.sit...com/uglyashell.html

Or if you want it from your computer the best way to do so would be to have another program constantly uploading the current picture from your webcam onto a server with the same name and just use the flash to update it over and over again. You'd be best off just using html.

Response to: Union Strike Posted October 18th, 2005 in Politics

it seems you have alot of teachers that care nothing for there students. It really is a shame that they would abuse the system like that. On the note of unions, yes they are still needed. Even with snafu's like this every so often, it's still more likely that non union workers will be treated unfairly. maybe once the public eye is kept sharper on worker treatment unions won't be needed.

You shouldnt value it more than any other sector. Militarism leads to increased use of violence and military might in areas where it isnt need. There is such a thing as mediation or negotiations.

In fact there are other sectors that shoudl be valued more than the military, like human services (education, health care, social security).

I think we value all of our public servants, we value teachers for devoting there lives to children, we value doctors for saving our lives, families and elderly people value social security workers for helping them through there rough times, and we value our armed forces for risking there lives to protect us.

Whats wrong with having a strong military to exter your will on other countries? Besides the obvious fact of its impeding on soverign nations Or the fact it means people die?

Our military is only stationed in peaceful countries where agreements have been made with housing countries or where we have agreed to help by lowering there need for a military. I know we don't have any other countries military on our soil, but that's because allied countries that we would allow to do so also know that if they were to need anything we'd have there backs, because we do pride ourselves on it.

Response to: Anti/Pro- War Rallies Posted October 17th, 2005 in Politics

Protestors aren't taken seriously anymore. In a crowd of 1,000,000 there might be 7 people who actually care and the rest just hope to be seen on tv. Take away the cameras and see how fast everyone leaves.

Response to: if I'm punk do I have too be lib. Posted October 17th, 2005 in Politics

Once your old enough to vote and your opinion on things actually does matter, you won't care about your social status of being a "punk". Hell if I had a social status it would probably be more in the black metal crowd and I strongly believe in a capitolistic democracy, or in other words what conservatives should be.

It's getting better. In my case my ex is stable, not abusive, and has a steady income. She just isn't a very good person. I'm pretty damn close to having full custody as we speak, I think the main deciding factor was I chose a home in a better school district and she's been constantly late to court through this little ordeal.
Also if the mother is a crack whore, what does that say for the father?

Response to: Anti-smoking Posted October 12th, 2005 in Politics

I think it should be out of public buildings grocery stores and most resturaunts, but when they tell you you can't smoke in like a club or a bar, that's just asinine. First off theres no law saying the owners have to allow it in there buildings and theres no law saying you have to go into places that do. So if nobody has to be there it should be up to the owner to decide. Instead of going to uncle sam like you would cry to your mommy, be an adult get people together and let the owners know they could have alot of business if they banned it from places they own. I'm a smoker have been for a long time, even have doctors orders to keep it up. I don't mind encouraging owners and managers to ban it in there building, I don't mind you choosing not to go places that don't allow it, I don't mind doing your best to make sure more people don't start smoking hell I do that all the time. What I do mind is this "Mommy mommy" bullshit everyones been playing lately, nobody wants to do anything anymore and nobody is willing to take any responsability or action. And no writing letters to politicians is not action, it's crying to mommy. Grow up fucktards.

Response to: AS: Elastic mouse follower Posted October 11th, 2005 in Game Development

I think this is kinda a nice one to teach simple math functions and how they can be used. So what the hell I'll break it apart and it might help someone.
onClipEvent(load){//proprties in this tag are loaded once
physics0 = .5;//simple name with value in this case ".5" could be anything
physics1 = .5;//ditto
}//closes the "onclipevent" handler
onClipEvent(enterFrame){//properties in this will be updated every frame
//even if every timeline is stopped frames are updated at the ratio you set
xspeed = ((_root._xmouse-_x)*physics0)+(xspeed*phys
ics1);
//the x position of the mouse subtracted by the x position of the MC this code is place on
//multiplied by the first value set on the load plus itself multiplied by the second value
//breaks apart exactly the same as high school algebra
yspeed = ((_root._ymouse-_y)*physics0)+(yspeed*phys
ics1);
//same as above with y position instead of x
_x += xspeed;
//adds the sum of the xspeed equasion(speeling) to the mc's x position
//if that's confusing look for a tutorial on simple character movement
_y += yspeed;
//same as above except with y position
}//closes onclipevent again

Play with this a bit change values see what happens when you take away the y position handling and the x position handling

that's just the bbs cutting stuff short it should be
(yspeed*physics1); so adjust that in your code

oh and sorry for the double post.

Response to: AS: Elastic mouse follower Posted October 11th, 2005 in Game Development

make it easier on yourself
onClipEvent(load){
physics0 = .50;
physics1 = .50;
}
onClipEvent(enterFrame){
xspeed = ((_root._xmouse-_x)*physics0)+(xspeed*phys
ics1);
yspeed = ((_root._ymouse-_y)*physics0)+(yspeed*phys
ics1);
_x += xspeed;
_y += yspeed;
}
Alot cleaner and doesn't give you that bumpy effect
