Who else is playing? How are you liking it? Hating it? Beat it?

I couldn't find another thread on it, so if an official discussion already exists, link me yo.

When I started playing, there was a lot of that irritated me, but now I am comfortable with it, I am really enjoying it. It's HUGE. I hate to say the S word, but there may be more to explore than Skyrim.

I played Dragon Age Origins and Dragon Age 2 and this one is definitely the best of the 3. It also features tons of characters and places from the other 2 games so if you haven't played any Dragon Age games, you may not like Inquisition.

"Your post is appreciated. And I apologize for being under the radar. I hate sharing no news, but unfortunately sometimes that's all I've got. In the games industry sometimes you aren't allowed to talk about projects and I was under a 2 year contract preventing me from working on the game. But now that is over and we are doing our best to bring part 3 to life. I can't say much more right now but a lot of thought and work has gone into it and Gretel isn't forgotten. Its very hard to make free games for your only living, so obviously we've had other jobs that have also prevented us from completing the game. But I won't be satisfied unless Gretel gets finished. Thanks for posting and caring."

I am playing Dragon Age Origins right now and it is decent. It was a free download on Origin last week and I figured why the hell not.

I guess they put it up for free because the new Dragon Age is coming out next month, and I'll probably play just because I like RPGs.

When funding something I always expect the worst - not getting anything out of it. I'm glad it even released, and for the budget I'd say it was pretty well made. An inexperienced team won't get a game of this quality done with more money.

It could be complete garbage and I'd still buy it and play it. I love the original Fallouts so much, I am such a huge fan of Brian Fargo and Chris Avellone and Feargus Urquart and Tim Cain etc. I'm sure I misspelled all their names and some of them may not have worked on Wasteland 2--- but that entire team is full of creative folks and I will play anything they work on.

I'll probably go for a higher tier if they have another kickstarter.

I funded $35 for project eternity, and $20 for Mighty No. 9.
Eternity is looking good but I dare say Mighty No. 9 will be a massive disappointment.

I really need to start following kickstarter more. I am missing out on some good games. :-(

Yeah when you get to college they will explain how to apply for a student loan. Just remember a loan is not a grant and you do have to pay it back! I'm still paying mine off because I took out as much as I could every semester just to buy food and gas and such. I am very lucky I had scholarships.

mmhmm... i understood most of the part, but forgive me if i ever nudge you on this topic again lol xD

It's cool!

I still get paper bills but I love having apps on my phone to tell me, "Your account is getting low" etc.
so you get a paper bill, and pay it off online or... is online-apps only for reminders?

I can pay online or using my phone as well, for some, not all of my bills. TECHNOLOGY!!!!

i know. i know... its my family is off country and all, so i cant really apply for one. i might once we get back home and all.
itll be a good idea to save up, youre right. then i might be able to buy a tablet, a mic, give the whole animation thing ive been studying alone since i was 14 a go, and yeah. if all goes well i might skip the whole college thing, if that's wise

I took out student loans to buy food and gas and pay my bills. Luckily I had studied very hard and had very high ACT/SAT scores so I had several scholarships. My tuition and books were paid for.
I was still super poor and went without a lot. I made good friends in college who started to realize when I went to my car during lunch, it wasn't because I wasn't hungry, it was because I couldn't afford food. They started taking turns spotting me for a slice or pizza or a cup of coffee. That was nearly 10 years ago and I am still friends with all of those girls and I will always be eternally grateful to them for showing me kindness.

lol xD much appreciated! I don't mind listening to yours. I like to get even lol

No problem!

gotcha double of what it says. don't I just need to pay off what it tells me? why do I need to give the bank more money

They have the interest set very high. So if your payment is only 20 bucks, that's not touching the principal, it's only paying on the interest. What ends up happening is you pay 20 bucks every month, while interest adds more money to your account!! It ends up taking 5 years to pay off a 500 dollar credit card! You don't want to pay it off, or have nothing on the card, because that hurts your credit. You need an open card, with at least half of it available, and you making regular payments above what they asked.
Let's say you move out and get a mastercard with a 1,000 limit. Use that card for your extra purchases for the month.Try not to have more than 500 bucks spent on it at a time. Then when they send your bill, remember to pay more than you owe. You will build credit in no time and then you'll be able to buy a car/house/etc by your mid 20s.

I have 4 credit cards now, but they aren't maxed out. I put a little on one, then pay it down. The credit companies extend my credit all the time, on their own, because I use my cards, but do not max them out, and pay on them regularly. They are great to have for emergency large purchases like a fridge or oven or washing machine going out. I use my credit cards for vacations. I love to travel. I'll go on 2 or 3 large trips a year and then several mini trips. I use my cards for this, then pay them back down all year.

so that's how it works, via online

I still get paper bills but I love having apps on my phone to tell me, "Your account is getting low" etc.

interesting... so if I stick to one bank company, itll raise my credit record, and itll raise my mortgage to actually buy a house? guessing il have to pay some of it off every so often, but its no different than what you do with rent.
and good for you! that's smarts

I honestly had no idea how to buy a house! I asked around and chose a real estate agent who many of my home owning friends approved of. She handled everything! She argued with the people selling the house. She had it inspected for me, and made them fix the things wrong with it. She talked them down on the price and made them include appliances with it. and I did NOT have to pay her. She makes money off a sale, which she made the people selling the house pay as well! All I did was tell her "This is what I am willing to spend, not a penny more." and then I signed on the line.

I pay taxes and a mortgage every month. (It ends up being around 1300 bucks a month) No different then paying rent!

okay. thank you so much for standing out from the rest of the meanies here lol
I ask for a guiding adult and I get "get a job" or "hey, heres a site! don't mind us!"

Oh you do need a job. I cannot stress enough how important hard work is. My unhappiest friends are the ones who will not work. Always looking for somewhere to stay, always asking to borrow gas money.
Just no matter what you do, work hard at it. Not everyone is cut out for college, and that's fine. I know tons of folks without college degrees making twice what I make.

im turning 17 soon. am I really going to need a cane and a retirement house soon? lol

I WAS kicked out when I was 18, with a newborn baby---which don't get me wrong was my fault and I made some poor choices---but yeah it wasn't fun doing college with a newborn and being poor as hell.
I was fortunate I had some help from other family members but those were dark times. I often did not have electricity, or food. I know these are first world problems, but I didn't have a computer or internet or cable. I had a tv that got one channel when I could afford to pay my electric bill. I had a house phone. That's it..... I didn't have central air or heat, I was living in a shed that had been converted into a house so I had a window unit and gas heater in one room and often I just stayed in that one room.
I think the not having food was the worst honestly. Coming home to nothing sucked.

ive been planning, learning, and so on "GET TO THE POINT SEINFE-" alright!

i need help knowing how independent living works. i need someone i can nag with PMs and him/her being okay with that.

i need to learn how you guys live your life, how it all works. now i know im supposed to ask an adult//close family i trust, but i dont have any! all i have is you guys. "hey you know, theres always yahoo an" NOO! go f*ck yourself yahoo answers! nobody loves you!... *sigh* bunch of douches.

You can always PM me, we don't know each other, but I don't mind just offering honest advice ....or listening...because I'm a chick and we do that listening to feelings crap.

the question i need answered right now are
1: how does a credit card/ paying bills for a home works?

Credit cards are only a good idea when you are well established or have steady income. Don't ever get another if you have one maxed out already. Most have very high interest rates and I have seen soooooo many friends get sucked into the credit trap.
Also when you do get a credit card, make sure you can pay DOUBLE what the bill says. If the bill says you owe 65 bucks, try to pay 130 etc. If you pay the minimum, on anything, you will never ever pay it off.

That said, you have to build credit. When I was 21 and trying to buy a car boy was that a pain in the ass because I didn't have ANY credit. Try getting a credit card with a low limit, and keep a balance on it---don't just keep it empty--- but don't let it get maxed out or stay maxed out.

Try to set up your bills to come out of your banking account. Keep up with your banking account using mobile aps or the computer if you can.

2: how can i manage all this rent/bills/food and stuff yet still have some money or time to myself?

lol this is a question everyone asks every month. Some months you will be short, but once you get used to your budget, it won't be hard! My bank notifies me if my account has less than 50 bucks in it, and then I know I'd better stop spending!
Do not buy things you can't afford. Back when all those people lost their homes and everyone wanted to blame the banks, I coulda slapped some folks. If you make 25K a year---DON'T BUY A HOUSE FOR 500K!!!!!

When I began shopping for my first house at 27 years old (I rented before then, and worked on my finances and credit record) I was told I was preapproved for a mortgage for $700,000.00!!!!!! I only make 40K a year! I am not a moron, so I picked out a house waaaay under budget.

You'll figure out what your budget is too but for right now, don't worry so much about the future. Planning and worrying are 2 very different things. :-)

3: idk il nag you about the rest, dont worr-

Do start putting away money for retirement, or sign up for a retirement program. I went to college, finished, got a salary paying job, and I have a state retirement, but I also have a little money in the stock market. (I do 100 a month) and I don't do anything with it, my broker does. So you won't get a headache or anything from it, it is just extra money there for your retirement.
