Completed the first song to the rock album with Raegan Quinn. The song is called "Dream" and the "LR" stands for "Lotus Reverie"

Raegan Quinn used to be a professional opera singer when she was a child in Scotland. She's done some vocal work for the BMB Finishes "Hero of Time" film I'm scoring, and she's been wanting to do a rock duo with me for a while. Hence, "Lotus Reverie" was born. This first song "Dream" was performed by her as were the lyrics written by her; I just made and mixed all the music and her vocals.

So enjoy!

I've finally started on an all-piano album that is rigged to sound like a live-performance (with a little admittedly bad mixing here and there).

No Face and The Fade are uploaded!

I imagine that anything of Progressive Rock would be classified in the AP as most-likely "indie". I've honestly never heard of progressive metal, but metal, like techno, has hundreds of subgenres.

The A minor scale you listed is actually the A harmonic minor scale. You forgot the natural minor, melodic minor, and the other modal variations of the scale.

If you're not tired of hearing this song yet...

I deleted the instrumental because after listening to the song I loathed the original vocals, so I went back while I still had the project saved and redid ALL the vocals without the stupid Harmony Engine, and it sounds a hell of a lot better now (although verse 1 has one peaking spot that was normalized to keep your speaker from exploding, but you can still hear the distortion).

I was bored, so I created another Legend of Zelda piece just for the hell of it. This is called "Queen Rutela's Final Goodbye"

Now, I stated it in the song's description, so hopefully I won't get anyone saying "Is this from the movie you're scoring?" The answer is "no". I just got tired of composing music for the LoZ film that I had to keep secret and wanted to create something I could freely distribute, so I created this on a whim.

For this, I envisioned the part of LoZ: Twilight Princess where Rutella leads Link to the secret place within Kakariko Village, but in this piece's case, I envisioned her appearing to Ralis to bid him a final farewell. For those of you who haven't played Twilight Princess, go out and buy it. It's quite possibly the best LoZ game since Ocarina of Time.

Instrumental to the first AP track "To Light a Candle and Hope for a Forest Fire"

Enough people bitched about my vocals so I deleted that entry and submitted the instrumental and will continue to do so with each new song release.

If you're one of those people who could care less about the imperfection of my vocals, you can still hear the original versions on my MySpace (which the link to that is on my NG profile page).

Released the first song to a new rock album, titled "To Light a Candle and Hope for a Forest Fire"

Now, while I'm still practicing the new vocal techniques I've been learning, please have patience with me on that. For example, the second half of the second verse is a little rusty (along with a few other parts for those of you who have an ear for that sort of thing).

But rest assured, the music part of it sounds awesome! I've experimented with different VSTi's that I've always had and never really used (I tried Super Quartet for the drumparts instead of following my usual tradition to use Hypersonic). I also acquired Harmony Engine and attempted to play around with it in this song. Now, the harmonies in the first verse of the song I did do myself, but in the chorus and ending, I played with Harmony Engine (which I'm happy about because it means I can pull some hardcore Saosin shit! >=D)

Anyway, enjoy!

Another Other Side of Yesterday song: "A Sheet, A Quill, and the Hours"

I probably didn't explain this before, but "Other Side of Yesterday" is the pseudo-bandname I use (I say "pseudo" because truth is, there is no band; it's all MIDI, but I like to use the name as if it was a band).

This one is titled "A Sheet, A Quill, and the Hours", yet another rock song based upon the lyrics of Brian Buyea.

Feel free to download/vote/review.

Released a new awesome rock song: "Hemisphere"

Yet again the poetry of Brian Buyea (my best friend) comes alive in another Other Side of Yesterday song. I made the music over the weekend, but did the vocals today to top it off. God bless Autotune; it's a life saver for fixing vocal strays and adding mechanical effects. Also to thank Jack Dark for developing the free VSTi called Syntendo (which emulates the 8-bit waveforms that you heard in the old-school Nintendo games).

I call this a must listen because although it's only track 2 on the "A World Outside Your Own" album, but it may be as good as my original rock will ever get (although I hope not). Also, before anyone freaks out, there are Lo-Fi filters here and there in the song, so your speakers will not explode. I'm pretty good with handling peaks. Nothing I do peaks past 0.00 db (although it may sound like it, it doesn't).

Finished NEW song for the START of a NEW ALBUM.

After capping off the "Twilight" album with 6 tracks, I've begun a new album. This one, titled "A World Outside Your Own", is taken up a notch to boderline alternative rock/metal.

Reviews/votes/downloads welcome.

Finished new rock song "Never the Same"

This song is probably one of the catchiest songs I've done lately. It's inspired by Copeland and Anberlin, so anyone who's a fan of those bands might appreciate this piece.

Reviews/downloads/votes are always welcome.

That's pretty much what you'd want to do -- look up sites with lessons.

And yes, if you're not careful, you'll get flamed here too. I'm not with it, but that's how it is.
That's also the reason I log into NG everyday but almost never come into the BBS -- I hate feeling like I'm older than most people here (in most cases, I probably am).

It's most likely related to the new Newgrounds system.

Anyone who had songs on here prior to the makeover had those songs carry in to the present with the same download count as previously recorded, so you'll even find songs with a higher download count than listen count.

Finished a Remix of "Far Away (Steal My Heart)"

It's for the new album "Twilight", but I did an ambient rock remix of the song, so it pretty much sounds like a Coldplay-styled mix.

No, it's just called no one really goes by those votes anyway when they listen to AP music, unless they're inexperienced with the site. Don't think you're no good because of it because even my pieces get voted down after a while, and I know I do damn good work.

Welcome to Newgrounds. It's a common thing around here, so don't take it personal. Besides, everyone making flashes using our audio already knows about the 0-bomber problem, so just don't let it get to you.

I have just uploaded the first two tracks to a new rock album. Feel free to check them out. This new album, called "Twilight", is a project in which I wish to change up the overall style I was following and move into something with a bit more of a colored theme to it.

"Dusk"

"Sun Sets In"

So feel free to review/download/use/vote.

Finished new rock piece "Letter (Boundless Ocean)". Read below for the details.

This is a cover of one of my older songs that I composed around 3 or 4 years ago, so I don't want any boneheads (`cause I've had one already) telling me that they're reporting me for stealing someone else's songs just because I once posted this song on other websites under a different freaking name (namely "the Exiled"), but then again it was that long ago that probably no one here would even know about the original song (and I'd be happy if you didn't).

At any rate, I don't like having to lower the bitrate of a song for the sake of meeting the 4 MB threshold, so if anyone wants to download a higher quality sound version of this piece, visit my iSound profile .

Feel free to review/vote/download.

Completed a new piece for the Legend of Zelda - Mark of the Triforce project. This piece is called "Beauty of Zora's Domain"

It's fairly much going to be the ambient BGM to Zora's Domain, although I attempted to incorporate the Serenade of Water theme into it. Again, this piece is meant for looping which is why it abruptly ends, but it is by far the longest piece so far for the project.

Also, I'd like some form of feedback on "The Fade" if anyone has the time or criticism.

That fuzz you have is Total Harmonic Distortion. It's the fuzz that comes from having too much distortion from an imbalance of your gain and levels. There are a few ways to minimize this: 1) play around with your gain (which decides how strong/weak the signal is from the microphone to the sound card) and don't count on your volume levels to determine the loudness (there's vocal compression for that), or 2) fidget around with any de-noiser plugins you may have granted that you have them.
