well right now the current xbox 360's failure rate is signifigantly less so i guess you can call that hope but, it will never go away cause every console has a failure rate and there's still millions of original Xbox 360's out there which have a high chance of getting the RROD

you should get one at some point, it costs $400 bucks plus taxes (there is rumors of a 50-100 dollar price drop) and if you buy it get killzone 2, lbp, resistance 2, mgs4, uncharted drakes fortune, warhawk, ratchet and clank ftod. any of those listed are quality games. games to look forward to are god of war 3, heavy rain, infamous, MAG.
