Response to: Rules against being naked... Posted February 21st, 2010 in General

I believe it's legal in some places only if you're trying to act 'erotic' or something. Now, if you wander outside nekkid, chances are the police will arrest you regardless of whether you were trying to act all sexy.

However, it's legal to protest something naked in places, if you can prove that being naked somehow relates to what you're protesting.

I remember watching it on a show about legal loopholes.

Wow, and I thought living in a hard-water area sucked.

My soap won't lather :(

It's probably because of illegal dumping by retards who don't realise they have to drink that water.

Why is LSD a class 1/A drug in almost every country?

I mean, a lot of doctors who study this sort of thing know it can benefit psychology, it's not addictive and the only side effect is flashbacks.

Anywho, back on topic.

Listen to your lawyer. This will be the millionth time he's worked on a case like this.

What the hell are you smoking?

Actually about 170 years, that's a typo. The first people to write about fundamentalism were Dwight Moody and Arthur Tappan Pierson, who lived in the 19th century.

Before that, Catholics believed what St. Augustine wrote about, adopting all of his beliefs other than pre-destination. Orthodox Christians thought that the bible is metaphorical, and that the commandments are the important part. Protestants believed that each individual should interpret the bible personally.

And I've been smoking pot.

If any one wants proof of this, there's a quote of St. Augustine
He lived 400 years after the start of Christianity. How is that "from the very start"??
By that logic, someone playing Super Mario in 2400 would be "at the very start of the video game movement".

Yes, you're right. I phrased that badly. This is from the start of when the Organized Catholic church was being set up.

And since I just proved that the very first writings on Fudamentalism are 170 years old, that means that there is no evidence to suggest people thought the bible was literal before 1840 or so.

Trust me, I'm right.

I completely agree. All developers think that online play is a suitable co-op mode, but nothing is better than sitting down by a friend and playing with them.

Response to: Some controversies on Noah's ark... Posted February 17th, 2010 in General

Three of those 'theories' were the most retarded things I have ever read.

But, the two that made sense deserve a bit of attention, the ones about the amount of animals and the varying conditions.

Basically, an unfortunate amount of people think the bible is to be taken literally, both atheists and Christians. However, it is an original Christian belief that the old testament is not to be taken literally. It's all just a bunch of fairy tales to show the development of the universe and man, because when the Bible was first released, almost everyone was a peasant farmer who wouldn't understand the concept of evolution or the big bang. In addition to this, Christianity Fundamentalism is only about 70 years old and suddenly everyone thought that these stories are true.

tl;dr Early Christians knew that these stories in the old testament were metaphorical, however in recent years people think that they actually happened.

If any one wants proof of this, there's a quote of St. Augustine (It's on wikipedia, just type in Augustine of Hippo and go to the 'Biblical interperation section) saying that the bible should always be taken metaphorical is basic logic and scientific reasoning contradicts is, and with his massive influence on Christianity this was accepted by the Catholic church.
