3.80 / 5.00 4,200 Viewsits alright, but all that does is show you a path, it doesn't make the MC fallow it and move around the object.
I got something thats starting to work out, but i was oping for something a little easier, so if anyone has an idea?
its not a bad tutorial but not what i was looking for, In my flash the UNIT or guy moves to the _x and _y of the spot you clicked at, But if theres a Wall between his _x and or _y and his destinations, then he stops there, what i need is for him to navigate around the wall. in AS2. without having to lead the unit every step of the way IE click down, click to the left to go around wall click upward to continue moving to your destination, I need the UNIT to move to destination, but if it encounters a wall, then go around it, without having to command click every step of the way, so you can command him to go somewhere, then move onto a different unit, and tell them to go somewhere else while the previous unit is moving to the destination on there own.
Oh yea, Its an overhead, I'm making a Command and Conquer type game, so once you have clicked where you want to send that unit he obviously walks there, but I need him to go around the wall to reach his destination.
I have an MC and i have a wall, I got the MC moving, and i can stop the MC from moving through the wall, but how would i make the MC go around the wall?
so can anyone at least identify my problem?
whats so funny?
While trying to open an .fla file i got this error
"while executing the fallowing JavaScript error(s) occurred:
EXCEPTION thrown into native function."
I don't know what that means or how i can fix it, so help is greatly needed.
still having issues if anyone else has any ideas
Thanks I'll try that.
When I open my .fla file, it's 223 mb, so it usually takes a long time to open, but for some reason, when i try to open it now, it opens in seconds, and that would be fine except the timeline appears blank, like not blank as in i never added anything but blank as in the timeline isnt appearing at all. and it doesnt even show the first frame or whatever, its not showing a frame. but the scroll bars work, but nothing to scroll to, it displays the library as well, but i cannot open a library object either, so its impossible for me to edit anything, if anyones got a solution id be glad to hear it.
ahhh....yupp, hoping someone else will post....need some help.....anyone?
Damn, How does a symbol even get corrupted? I sure hope this get sorted out soon, thanks for the help, if anyone else has a suggestion I'd be glad to hear it.
Sorry for the dumb post, I figured this out a while a go, and didn't even bother re-reading to see if anyone replied, so thanks anyways.
I'm still getting some issues, if anyone can still help out, I'd really appreciate it. much obliged.
Please Help
Thanks for the fast reply, I'll try re-installing but i sure as hell hope it works. I've worked to hard to give up now.
Me and some other people were making a flash cartoon, and were planning to export it as an .avi file instead of .swf because it was a large video file, but yesterday, in the middle of working on it, it said there wasnt enough memory, i had like 30g left, and it said to increase virtual memory, i increased that x2, (4000MB), i worked around that, but that seemed to be the beginning of my problem, i had already made several test .avi files to preview how it would come out, but all of a sudden, I cannot export .swf files at all, it says there isnt enough memory to perform action or something, but when i go to FILE>EXPORT>MOVIE to see an avi of it, everything procceeds normal, the proccess bar appears and i wait for it to finish, seconds later its done, but when i go to watch the exported movie, i go to the folder i saved it to and what not, the avi file size is 0kb, and its a blank movie, so i really need help, i've worked really hard on it and it has so far come out really well, so please help out if ya can.
the .fla file is 197MB
and below is just an image i made yesterday, so you can see some of the awesomeness.
but ya' seriously, i need some help on fixing this problem sooo....ya; help me out.

those are the characteristic of a female
they are the only things that help us tell the difference between male and female
There's still one more "Massive" difference, but yea, basically.
Thanks for the reviews and funny comments everyone

Yea, Thanks, It was right in front of my face and I didn't realize it. :D
I was wondering, How is it done where in FLASH when you have an object or MC or whatever, How do you make it overlap another in AS, I know how to overlap in layers or what not, But for like a game,
EX: in Dad n' Me, If the Players Y is greater than The enemies Y the Player is Overlapping the Enemy and vise verse.
So how would this be achieved? How to decide what Items overlap what in AS2? Any Help Is Appreciated.
