Indeed, I can attest to the animation and teamwork of OTCGP. I myself viewed nearly 5 minutes of high quality material animated as a short concept for the film, which will not be used simply because we are looking for the best.
I personally will be involved with the project, more with editing and planning. If you have questions of my validity, I was the project leader for Liquid Chaos, an animation collaboration sitting at about a 4.00/5.00
This is a project that is original, created by a team that is driven for success. Please, honest applicants, don't hesitate.
hey i haven't really read much of this forum, but I'm in a band and just this weekend we were recording and ben (the bassist) stopped playing to adjust the mic and...pretty much the whole song stopped. without the bass, there really isn't much of a flow to a song. drums, guitar, and vocals are high sounding, and a deep bass is essential to keep the song alive.
Keep with the music.
ehh...not sure why this topic is still around.
Comparing governments though, someone mentioned they live in the UK, and I believe that the four primary parties of the UK would all fit under the democratic party in the US...that's how far right the US is
As for starting our own government, yes, I'm all for it. Haha. It's hard to say that without laughing, but honestly, I would like to. Good luck passing that with whatever government is in power... =)
hey i dont have a lot of time so sorry if someone posted this same point.
Buddhism and taoism both deal with the point of life. Scientists are constantly working to figure this out, in every aspect of their works. But if you really think long and hard about it, what do they have to find out? Only ways to make our lives easier and more enjoyable, really, that's all science has done for me in my lifetime. I'm not trying to bash it or anything (I'm in fact going to major in bio-mechanical engineering), it's just that as long as we are all going to die, then what? And if we can live forever, then what? You know? We can always become happier, more self-pleasing people, but so what of that?
I think that the statement of 'existing to exist' can be explained in the book 'Tao te ching' by lao tsu....google it, i'm sure you'll find an e-book. pretty much, taoism is acknowledging that everything will be lost eventually, so the only way to die satisfied is to wish for nothing. Rich people always want more money, and are never truly satisfied, but if you change your beliefs to want nothing, you'll have everything. See what I'm saying?
alright well kj has asked me to post here, so I decided that i finally will, and so I'm 'officially' claiming lines 11 and 12, i've already gotten most of the work done for them, im going to be out of town next week, but when i get back i want to the get the menu up and running.
well, speaking of evolution, i was just coming back from a mission trip last night and i, as a liberal christian, sometimes have hard times reasoning with others of my religion. i was reasoning evolution out and my church leader, she kept looking straight forward and just saying "no. it cant be true. evolution? thats just bad science. thats all it is scott. bad science."
i shit you not, she said those words (almost exactly). she said "bad science"
its quite ridiculous, you think?
hey kraig!
i was very excited to see this post - i love this song and have attempted several flashes on my own involving it. im not sure if there's any room left on the roster, but i would very much like a spot on the movie, no matter which line.
i was one of the lead co-authors of the flash collab 'liquid chaos' with blackmarket kraig, and I feel I can contribute a lot to this collab. I am going to be gone this next week, so it may appear like im disinterested, but please just assign me some lines and i'll get started on them when i get back. thanks!

no. horribly wrong. discrimination is NOT choosing between two or more things.
to anyone who may be wondering whether this is an entirely anti-bush thread or whatever, just look at the title: 'America = 1984' so yes, im sure that the next president will still be enforcing the orwellian laws, however, bush has made even more laws such as the ones listed, which I do not respect.
very very well put
I agree with this 100%, but the problem with narrow-minded people is that just because the middle east is thousands of miles away, the deaths of those people are never noticed by them and they dont care about them as much as a direct attack on their homeland.
there's really no way to argue against what was said
oh you should really read 1984. highly recommended to anyone. in fact, its better if you read it seven or eight times =)
poisonwood bible? i'll add it to my list after my current books that im reading simultaneously:
the new harry potter (woot)
bluebeard
the essential tao (the tao te ching)
the catcher in the rye
so far they are all good, too. BTW if anyone is interested in 1984 i've been told "fahrenheit 451" is a good book and i saw EQUILIBRIUM IT IS AN AWESOME MOVIE. it is almost exactly like 1984, except because of hollywood it has to end with the protagonist winning.
but anyways, yes, it is very scary, and if you look at the bush administration and the current situation, think of the old saying..."if you throw a frog into a pot of boiling water, it will instantly jump out. if you throw a frog into a pot of water and slowly heat it up, you will kill the frog"
this is exactly what the government is doing. they take the norm, make it more intrusive, then wait for that to become the norm. and repeat the process. very sad....
well no, its just that it hasn't been discussed and presented in a clear form in the NG BBS yet, well, as long as i can remember. sorry if its already a hot topic, but does anyone have anything to contribute or should i shut up?
now i KNOW that i will receive many hateful posts about starting this topic, but please keep in mind the very vague similarities.
Has anybody noticed how much America has become like George Orwell's book "1984"???? i mean, REALLY. here are a list of very brief points
- in 1984 there was doublespeak. saying something really WAS what it wasn't. George Bush's "Clean Skies Initiative" allows more pollution than before - 520% more mercury, 68% more nitrogen oxide, etc.
- who is america at war with?? in "1984" its eurasia, then eastasia, then eurasia, no one even knows and no one seems to care, so long as we were at war with anyone. the american parallel? first we go to war with the taliban, then all of a sudden we get linked to Iraq (while al qaeda and iraq are NOT related), and now bush is eyeing Iran!
- in "1984", couples were required to marry for the sole intent of reproducing offspring for the benefit of the government. The bush administration has made it clear that NO gays get married, and seriously reprimand homosexuality. also, has anyone noticed how many ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS and such are receiving ARMY RECRUITERS?? the gov't is trying to bait citizens into alliance while they are still kids, just like "1984"!
- in "1984" there were telescreens so that the government could keep a constant watch on the citizens to make sure they dont get up to anything suspicious. sounds familiar? how about the PATRIOT ACT, in which government officials are given legal permission to spy on civilians' private records down to the very books they check out to watch for "suspicious behavior", and the patriot act in some instances allows the government to hold citizens without trial! remember the 2004 republican convention in New York? remember how many citizens were JAILED for no reason? look it up on google. even everday shoppers who were assumed to be democratic protestors were swept away to cells, having to wait upwards to over 10 hours to call their lawyer!
- in "1984", the government totally distorted information to ridiculous heights. Here in america, the bush administration does everything they can to keep their citizens calm. remember the 2004 campaign speeches??? well kerry allowed ANYONE into his rallies because he believed in freedom of speech. however, ALL of bushes rallies were INVITE ONLY - this way, when people turned on their television, they'd see 100% smiling fans for bush and think 'wow...he cant be that bad, now can he?"
- in "1984", the language was slowly degrading to very simple words to prevent the citizens from expressing their dislike for the government, ultimately becoming robots of the government, showing no expression and living in ignorance. how about the bush administration, cutting the science foundation's funds by almost $100 million, and focusing more on the military instead of the arts and education
and the list goes on and on and on! please, do your research, because what is happening in america is slowly morphing to the social dystopia of orwell's 1984. be aware of this, and please for the sake of freedom, fight it.
anyones thoughts?
wow - i see my topic has surely taken off.
alright well what i believe is that we have AA to help minorities just because they were slaves and are poor, have it worse, etc.
but how about this - instead of giving AA to minorities, what if simply give it to genuinely disadvantaged citizens; that is - base advantages off of annual income perhaps? or something else. would this be more or less fair than the current system of affirmative action? anyones thoughts?

OK. no sex. and? well you say that it would be bad because sex is a beautiful thing. of course its a beautiful thing - what MAKES it beautiful is two people who are totally in love displaying their affection for each other in the ultimate form. does it MATTER if its a guy and a girl or a guy with a guy? eh? and it's spelled 'literal'
oh and for all you shallow minded people who say that homosexuality is a social condition - did you choose to be a hetero? see? you never had to come to a crossroads in your life and pick homo or hetero. you're hetero. you're homo. its a fact, natural.
and once AGAIN, please use my metaphor of being a hetero living in a homo community. do you REALLY think it is fair that the homo's yell at you and say that heterosexuality is a socially conditioned way of life? would you, as your current self, totally except that? as an open-minded heterosexual, i sure know I WOULDN'T, which is why i join gays today in the fight for equality. think about that for a while.

There, he paid it back, not only that, but he paid it back with interest, nearly twice the amount.
Oh, and Scott, that study that so often floats around has been debunked and dismissed so many times, only people that are stupid enough to believe that everything in their inbox from friends of friends of family is unfailingly truthful still believe in that study hoax.
friends and family? actually no - read it in 2 separate statewide newspapers. and i did a little googling - turns out wisconsin is NOT the most stupid blue state after all. YAY!
http://chrisevans3d.com/files/iq.htm
in case you are a bit frightened to click, i'll give you a little tidbit: not a single blue state was on the lower half of america's states' average IQs
oh and while viewing this site keep in mind that there are indeed more red states than blue...so they should have a higher probability of filling the top slots...
hmm...yeaahhh... try that out for size. or how about maybe how these 'christian republicans' have such high divorce rates? check this one out:
http://www.topalli.com/blue/divorce.html
but that's getting a bit off-topic. here, peruse this one:
http://www.commondre../views04/1110-25.htm
excerpts:
72 percent who cast votes for George W. Bush, according to a University of Maryland's Program on International Policy Attitudes (PIPA) and Knowledge Networks poll, believe that Iraq had weapons of mass destruction or active WMD programs. 75 percent think that a Saddam-Al Qaeda link has been proven, and 20 percent say Saddam ordered 9/11. Of course, none of this was true.
Also, you are 25 percent more likely to hold a college degree if you live in the Democratic northeast than in the red state south.
study hoax in my inbox from some friends? give me a break. why wont you just accept it! if you were to tell me that blue states had lower average IQ scores, i wouldn't just go yelling about your lies, i would accept it and be disappointed, but still accept it. there are the facts. now please accept it.
Deadafterall, you really do make me quite sick
i dont think you're getting the message i was initially trying to get across. i don't give a rat's ass at to WHY christians dont believe in gay marriage, but what i dont get is why they force it on others! you really have to think about this a lot, and use my previous metaphor of being a heterosexual in a homosexual community.
alright. you believe in god. thats great. and there may be others that dont. thats fine, too. the fact is, you CANT say to someone 'well, my god says you can't marry that person, so you can't', and this is happening all over america!!!!!!!!!!!! it's sickening!! it's nothing short of slavery!! REALLY! how is it any different than slavery - you are forcing a person to obey YOUR rules based on YOUR beliefs which contradict theirs.
absolutely sickening.
you say:
---------
Part of the reason is that if we let gay marriages happen in America Gods presence will leave the nation futher
---------
this is just your belief! "God's presence" is an abstract term defined only to the individual. so don't force YOUR abstract views onto others. this is just repulsive.
you also said:
-------
It's harsh but it's Gods way of doing things and Gods way is the best way
-------
.....jesus fucking christ. perhaps we're not getting through to you? alright alright, hopefully you're still reading, but picture this: I believe in a little thing called "smarg." Smarg believes that people with brown eyes should be shot. OOPS? you have brown eyes? well according to MY BELIEFS, Smarg tells me to shoot you, so i will.
this is EXACTLY what is happening in america! (except less violent)
excuse me... i need to go throw up
alright well this isn't so much of a rant about gay marriage, but more of a question for the milllions of christians in america.
how come you don't just let everyone do their own thing and have their own religion? i know, we have the freedom of religion in america, but the fact that the GOV'T put up a BAN on gay marriage is horrendous! the answer i get out of most christians is that its 'protecting the sanctity of marriage' but what does it matter to YOU? i mean, as long as you're free to worship and believe that you'll go to heaven, why don't you leave the rest of us alone, since we're all "doomed to hell" anyways?
if you offended by reading this, think about it this way. suppose you were in a world where 90% of the population was gay, and you were a heterosexual, and wanted to marry a member of the opposite gender. NOPE. you can't. its ILLEGAL. just think about it...the religion of the homosexuals imposing THEIR views on you, the hetero! thats just what its like for gays....
hey, just thought i'd open up a little topic for the term 'reverse discrimination' AKA affirmative action.
first off, i just want to bring it to the floor that i do NOT believe that affirmative action should be called reverse discrimination! That's not to say whether i believe affirmative action is right or wrong, but the fact of the matter is, it IS discrimination - not REVERSE discrimination.
the definition of discimination: Treatment or consideration based on class or category rather than individual merit; partiality or prejudice.
that DOESN'T mean blacks vs. whites. AS LONG as affirmative action biases a class or race, no matter what it is, this is discrimination, not reverse discrimination!
anyone's thoughts?

i think everyone who is saying that the teachers who ARE getting paid very little money are shitty teachers anyway should look at the subject backwards.
it sort of comes down to supply-and-demand. the REASON we have shitty teachers is because we dont pay very much. however, if we did cut some of (as was mentioned) NASA's funds, and we could pay our teachers a LOT more (70K) or so, then guess what - you've introduced competition into the field, because now everyone wants a shot at that 70K. then people work harder to get the spot, and become better teachers.
also, i think paying on performance, while logical in theory, wont work in practice. judging on performance is completely biased and there is no SURE way to say 'this person is teaching well' or not. there are too many variables with students and such.

you have not made one counter-point to my argument. go on and say 'well im not buying your book' or whatever the fuck you want, you know im right
you say republicans aren't monsters? when i see the MILLIONS of americans who don't even have government-provided health care, i cant help but tremble with indignation. whereas you cant help but tremble with indignation when some CEO cant afford his 7th mansion. poor guy.
want facts? do the research yourself - i wouldn't want to provide you with them and make them all biased. i want you to do it yourself, so you KNOW what is actually out there - not what some guy on NG brought to the table.

Uh, yes but no. The point is that if Rove is the key and doesn't go down for it, he's officially above the law and that doesn't wash in the supposedly check-and-balanced governed US system.
how foolish of me. this is almost exactly like the watergate scandal.
however, i do believe both of our cases are valid
the point that we are all trying to get across, and why this is such a bad thing, is that if karl rove revealed the identity of a TOP SECRET CIA agent, and does NOT GET PUNISHED, what is going to stop the administration from revealing anyone else? with that in mind, a LOT of CIA agents right now feel THREATENED because of what just happened, and because they're undercover, they cant exactly come out and protest or anything. thats why its such a quagmire.

actually, no. studies based on average voter IQ for blue states vs red states showed that EVERY STATE (with the exception of wisconsin, my home state lol) that voted for kerry had an average IQ higher than red states!
so yeah...dem's are smarter...and less greedy. we know whats good for the general public, and we know how to run a country the right way
jesus christ...
alright, whoever started this forum is just a total dickwad. i dont even know where to begin. if you really choose your party based on how hot a girl is...that is TERRIBLE.
let me explain all about how the looks thing works
let me give you a short lay-down of how D's and R's work:
republicans really want people to follow them in everything they do, making sure that the entire populace does what they want them to, all the while building up money and keeping it for themselves. its THAT simple. republicans are pro-business. they want to keep money whether it means 10,000 people are starving.
democrats (letting aside very few mishaps in american history) just want to help everyone who is in need. they realize that 'the untouchables' have it so rotten, and they're willing to sacrifice so rich fuck's ferrari for food for 1000 people.
with that being said, republicans feel the need to be DOMINATE and show that women are merely objects, not humans, so all republican women do is say 'yes sir...of course' whereas democrats act more INTELLIGENTLY and say "whoa! maybe you shouldn't be doing this...this is wrong..." and question authority. republicans use these women to lure in men, getting votes for them.
just like religion and politics should not be mixed, sexual opinion and politics should NOT be mixed.
yeah, teachers are VERY underestimated. besides certain politicians, they hold THE MOST important jobs in the country
...and then professional athletes can make 100x more than a teacher in one year...ridiculous
i think the main issue is how the united states is spending its money. right now, we have SOO MUCCHHH money going into the military! if we took only 2% of the military funds, we could pay every starting teacher 40K easily, and fix a shitload of other problems.
but NO. CUTTING FUNDS FROM THE AMERICAN MILITARY WOULD BE UNPATRIOTIC
At 7/13/05 05:14 AM, mofomojo wrote: O, the Republican party was always corrupt and so was the Democratic Party.
But I would like to think that the Democratic Party is LESS corrupt.
Edn.
yeah, well since the republican party supports really rich lardass bastards and all they care about is money, you can bet they're naturally more likely to be more corrupt.
also there have been a few instances in american history that democrats were corrupt, like boss tweed, etc, though its not nearly as often, because democrats believe in helping poor people and not squandering their wealth.
also, yeah, on national TV zell miller said he wanted to challenge a guy to a duel, so in other words:
zell miller wanted to SHOOT a man. the publics response?
FOUR MORE YEARS! FOUR MORE YEARS!
alright i think there will definitely be liquid chaos 2
however i think that blackmarket kraig is right, we should give it a bit of a rest. so the sequel will be starting around august 6 or thereabouts, giving you all plenty of time to work on solo stuff, myself included.
You gave this entry a 5, raising its score from 3.8575 to 3.8583!
vote 5 every day! =)
