Okay guys, I'm going to be out of town in New York City for the weekend, so I'm not going to be able to update. I'm glad you all seem to love this so much, and the reception I've seen is positively overwhelming. However, I've requested this be locked so it doesn't fill up with requests.

We will return to our regularly scheduled adventures when I return home on monday.

You land with a thud inside the cargo bay of the lumbering iron man. What treasures await in these poorly drawn containers, as if the artist had to draw them hastily because he should have left for work fifteen minutes ago?

WHAT INDEED! The suspense is killing you!

It appears to be some sort of red dragon. The guy who stood guard outside of your town had one on his armor, too. You're not sure of it's significance, but it does look pretty badass. Like something a 19 year old kid who watches too much anime would get tattooed on his arm, with the words "Courage and Honor" in Japanese underneath.

Except it wouldn't say "Courage and Honor", but something like "I swallow dicks", because he clearly went to a disreputable tattoo shop. So now, every time he shows off his tattoo to one of his Japanese-speaking friends, he thinks it's really hardcore, but unbeknownst to him is it's actual meaning. And nobody tells him. Then when he's in his mid-forties or so, one of his Japanese-speaking friends lets the news drop, and he has to deal with the anger and embarrassment of 20+ years of making an ass of himself to everyone around. That would be pretty funny.

But yeah, you have no idea what it means.

Things are looking up for you! Even though you're drunk, and have a low STRENGTH score, you seem to be climbing that rope pretty well. LOOKS LIKE LUCK IS ON YOUR SIDE TODAY!

That is, until the GIANT METAL JERK jostles slightly, and you fail to grab the rope. Oh noooooooo!

So, Newgrounds, what's your favorite thing about owning NG merchandise?

For me, it's the ladies. Bitches love seein' a Sargent John Captain on my fridge next to all those empty liquor bottles and .50 cal dummy rounds.

You?

Unfortunately, with your current less-than-stellar CONSTITUTION score, the alcohol has affected your perception more than you thought. Nothing much happens on your trip until you bump into a wall.

You don't possess enough skills necessary to craft such an item (HABERDASHERY 35 REQ'D), but you put it in your inventory should you run into a town's hatsmith or traveling helmcobbler.

You also stash the empty bottle, and notice that your pack appeared to be carrying rope. Neato!

After the smoke clears, you find the charred skeleton of a homeless man. Clearly some sort of... necromantic forces have animated this skeleton, and was waiting to ambush the next adventurer unlucky enough to pass by! Yes, that is surely what happened. You are such a great person.

SPOT CHECK success! Ahead of you, in a bend in the path, you notice movement in a bush! An ambush! Perhaps a dragon, or some kind of hideous beast! What vile, possibly Lovecraftian in nature monster lurks in the shrubbery before you?

You stop, and decide to carefully plot out your next move.

Actually, everyone decides where the character goes. I just decide what happens.

For instance, "Run into woods screaming looking for a fight" would be a great suggestion.
"Then you run into the woods, find a man. He offers you two gold" Is not a suggestion at all.

I am sure you guys will get the hang of this eventually. If it's all confusing to you, I suggest reading a few pages of the original MS Paint adventures that I linked to in the first post instead of diving right it. All the commands there were given by people reading the comic, and given in the format that you read them.

In any case...

At 6/3/09 07:46 AM, LegolaSS wrote: Jackson: Go to happy forest
Jackson: search / spot check

You decide it best to head on your way. The trail leads you through Happy Forest, named after the legendary adventurer Richard Happy, who was found brutally slain after he went missing for a week in these very woods. Nobody knows what happened to him, but they do know that his entrails covered a record distance of 1.4 miles (or 2.25 km, because you're English).

There is an ancient evil here that does not sleep, much like venturing into a Wal Mart past 11pm. You find it best to stay on your toes.
