You should step out of your comfort zone. Since you seem to be pretty good at drawing...that certain Digimon. Try something new.
I have.... and trust me, you're not the only one to say that XD. I've been Oc's and such, not to mention redesign of my fursona and such, so awhile she cosumes a major portion, that digimon isn't the only thing I draw. For the lols, here.... I'm posting non-digimon work. Redesign of my OC, Jade.... who I posted awhile ago.
In the last picture, though, my eyes immediately shot to the nearest hand because of the blue stains. It looked like shading...and it really caught my attention. That part of the picture seemed to "pop out" the most. Your shading is really too subtle (though I can see that you are making an honest attempt at it in some places) and the use of one uniform tone makes it hard to see the definition. Instead of applying shadows with the same colored pencil (and just increasing color saturation), use a darker color like a light brown against the yellow fur.
Actually, I DID DO THAT.... ( If you check other works, it's ALOT more noticable ) and I realize it's not that noticable on this pic. I REALLY HATE TO SAY THIS TOO.... but my scanner is dirt old, often killing scan quality, and some colors even fade : /. Though, I still could've gone back, and increased the amount of brown to show up better. As for the Shading, yes, I know |D.... but alot of the stuff I do, I shade in graphite with a .5, so I'M REALLY used to being gentle with the pencil.... so that could explain why my value is rather difficult to spot. ( that, and I just use $1 colored pencils XD ).
but I will consider these next time I try to work with colors again...
And btw, Thanks much for leaving a worth while comment ^^. Those are becoming harder to find XD
