Honestly, artistic style would pretty much be up to you. Personally, I prefer drawn, but if you make awesome sprites then I'm all for it. I'd give you as much artistic freedom as possible.

I'm currently in the process of developing a game. But it occurs to me that I can't art for crap, so I'm looking for someone who would be interested in working with me on this so it can be put out in a reasonable time frame.

The feeling I'd like it to convey is semi-playful, while still able to hold a serious tone. In my head, I sort of see it looking like a Yggdra Union battle screen. Only without the anime.
