Hey!
That's awesome! Got my game done this afternoon, really happy that I got it done so quickly and was able to talk part in this!

I'd love to share it with you:

FIREWORKS!

If you enjoyed that game, please feel free to check out my other games and follow me!
Thanks!
Glad Newgrounds tells everyone about such events, that's also how I got to know of it!

Enjoy!

Also: Post your own character below, if you like, that's my favourite so far:

Pixelartist needed! Posted March 23rd, 2012 in Collaboration

Hey there!
I am a programmer and looking for a pixelartist to collab with.
Here's a game I made:

  • Zombies In Your Backyard

    Can you survive all 10 days of this zombie apocalypse?

    Score
    3.83 / 5.00
    Type

    Popularity
    100,728 Views

It got over 100k views on Newgrounds and more than 500k views on the whole web.

I'm going to release my second game soon (which I think is way better than the first one).
Just looking for a sponsor at the moment...

I hope I attracted your interest! :)

Enjoy!

Just give it a try and tell me what you think about it. :P
Please tell me if you find any bugs or spelling mistakes.

Just started playing. Warning: I'm a writer. I can be kind of nit-picky with the proofreading.

In the first quest, wherever it says 'rebuiding,' it should say rebuild. "Please help me rebuild" "Help rebuild john's apartment"

"Looks like gronk, the guy with the beard needs your help." Gronk should be capitalized, and there should be a comma after beard.

Maybe give the player the option to sell one kind of ore, instead of only allowing them to sell all of their ores at once.

Fiberglass is misspelled in the blonde guy's second quest chat.

"Break through everything and get the COre!" <--I know it's the "core ore", but was that on purpose?

Anyways, that's just a few things I saw. It's an awesome game and super-addicting.

First of all: Thanks for playing!
Haha, nice to have someone who can help me with my bad English! :D

1. Changed 'rebuilding' -> 'rebuild' and 'appartment' -> 'apartment'
2. I think Gronk was capitalized... Couldn't find it in my code written incorrectly... Anyway, I set the comma now.
3. You can! When you enter the shop the first time it says:
"Press '1', '2', '3', etc. to select/unselect the ores you want to sell."
Try it! ;)
4. No, it's not misspelled. It's British-English: fibreglass
5. Yap, did that on purpose. Cheap pun... :D
6. Thank you very much!

Looks like you found a bug!
So you can't resume the game if your browser doesn't use another tab for the link, but opens a popup.

It's fixed now, so give it a try if you want to!

Has no one played it yet?
Or is this the wrong place to ask for testing and feedback?

Response to: Looking For A Pixelartist Posted January 5th, 2012 in Collaboration

Oh! And before I forget! I would LOVE to make a game about the 20s or 40s, the mafia, the gangs, all this stuff. Because I loved Mafia, L.A. Noire and of course Once Upon A Time In America I always get a nice nostalgic feeling when thinking of these times. I am not sure if someone else shares this passion, but I am sure we could make a great mafia game, probably with a cool storyline and some RPG stuff. But maybe you have an even better idea, you'd like to share? :)

Looking For A Pixelartist Posted January 5th, 2012 in Collaboration

Hey there!
I am looking for a PIXELartist who has a platformer-game idea or just wants to develop a cool game with a programmer who has some experience with flixel. If you're interested in collaborating please send me a PM or respond to this thread. :) I will answer as soon as possible! The reason why I want to collab is that I am sure together we could think of a great game idea and of course I am glad if someone else, hopefully a talented artist, does the sprites. ;)

Thanks for reading!

Response to: Making A Mulitplayer-game - Cirrus Posted January 3rd, 2012 in Game Development

There's actually one big problem about nonoba: the servers seem to be down for a few weeks now! :(

I would suggest going for an API like this one instead, or renting a VPS (you can get those for like EU15 a month).

Ah! Alright. Did they say how long it would take until the beta ends?
Thanks for posting that link. I'm gonna try it! :)

Hey, there!
I was trying to create a Cirrus-multiplayer game.
First I made a game where another one just connects to another one's fingerprint id, but I thought connecting to a groupName like "Room 1" was more userfriendly than connecting to "f19bca474e3d00b3fd2be4a29ab4df3bfbd1ed6 f2c3fcdda63fe5347bc1a9f6a".

So I found this one here, which actually works quite nicely but has one big problem:

You can only make ONE ROOM if you only have ONE SERVERADRESS.

It says:
Library now accepts variable group name, so you can create more instances. Download updated library below. Example: var game:P2PGame = new P2PGame(serverAddress,groupName);

But even if I make different groupnames they all connect to the same P2PGame!

Some other people on the site have already asked the same question but there's no answer yet and the last post is from the 10th of July 2011...

Here's the .swf I made.
Run it in two windows and just wait a second...
The both .swfs will connect and the userlist will change, although they connect to "different groups":

game = new P2PGame(SERVER + DEVKEY, "raum" + Math.round(Math.random() * 1000));
//here it should create a unique gameroom, but it doesnt!
game.addEventListener(Event.CONNECT, onGameConnect);
//when you connect to the game...
game.addEventListener(Event.CHANGE, onUsersChange);
//when the userlist changes...
game.connect("tester" + Math.round(Math.random() * 1000));
//connect with a random username.

So the groupnames are unique (or I somehow got the same number between 0-1000 10 times, lol), but it seems like the connection doesn't even care about the groupname, but only about the server adress...

Maybe you can help, tell me what I need to change or show me another way to create a userfriendly multiplayer game with more gamerooms. :)

Thanks for reading!

The title sounds like it's trying to copy plants vs zombie.

Ah, okay. I just searched for it on youtube and there's even a song called "Zombie On Your Lawn". I didn't do that in purpose, but I am going to change this.

Can I get my game sponsored? Posted December 27th, 2011 in General

Hi there!
I worked on a game called Zombies On Your Lawn and now I'd like to make some money with it.
I always dreamed of getting a game sponsored by Armor Games or Kongregate or whatever.

Now my question is: Is this game good enough to be sponsored, are there other good ways to make some profit and how can I get a game sponsored? Do you have any experience on this?
Thanks for reading and playing my game! ;)
