My elbow stinks.

No, I'm going on a recruiting spree as soon as I get off my ass and finish my part. It probably won't be a problem.

Bah. The lips thing doesn't look right without anti-alias. So, I'm going with the no-talent option: Text jumping in the screen from random directions. Though, it really looks good. (Note to self: Bring entry of 'The' forward 3 frames.)

You know what? Working in this has REALLY helped my animation skillz. Anyone got any troubles with the program, or any portal buddies who might be interested in doing this?

Is this worth it? Posted February 25th, 2008 in General

I'm wondering whether I can get sued for acting incredibly stupid in the city - for example, going into a fruit store and shouting "CLOCKS! CLOCKS! SO MANY CLOCKS! WE'VE GOT TO GET THEM ALL! BLAM THEM! BLAM THEM!"

Is this legal in Australia? Or, if I leave once asked, am I safe?

And also, what about acting stupid outside storefronts?

i did. now when I click the button it goes to the animation. But the music still plays. Ruining the animation. help?

Use stopallsounds(); in the very first frame before the animation. If you want music during the animation, have it start on the next frame.

Please read the collab thread rules before starting a collab - for one thing, you don't have a 3.0 batting average.

When you do get one, though, feel free to start one!

Also - if you're stuck for ideas, view this.

It's a clip from the film - and I love it. Also good if you want to draw the Rocky Horror Characters and can't remember who does what, and dance move ideas.

Response to: Why so few AS3 users? Posted February 23rd, 2008 in Game Development

I stay far away from AS3, simply because I have no skill in coding whatsoever.

It took me 3 months of classes to master AS2 - when it should've taken me one. So, unfortunately, I just don't trust my coding to make the jump, since I'm still making mistakes myself.

Whhhhaaaat? You going to do some blind lip synching. As if that wasn't hard enough. I admire the size of your balls. :P

A tip: If you have a webcam, record yourself doing the lipmovements, then put the frames in Flash 1. It's how I'm doing the red lips. Which I should really finish.

I would rape you if you did that. :)

Anyway, I have ways of telling. Mainly checking the file's vector style - Flash 1 saves vectors differently to the newer flashes. But there are also other ways.

But seriously, that shouldn't be too much of a problem and its is our fairest bet. I'm not sure how your planning on importing these files to a compatible format for NG, but so long as get the .spa's and .spl's, you should be fine, right? We both know that Flash 1 exports can be opened with IE, so maybe an .avi is available as an option. If not let me know and with some instructions, I'll be happy to help you out any way.

Flash 8 will open those files, I think. Then you simply export as a .swf .
What? No way. :O That's pretty cool.

Hmm, so Scalene would still have to deal with library naming issues then since some of our symbols or tweens might be named the same way, huh?

Yes, the Flash 8 method is the plan. And there may be library naming issues - something I did not think about. Please change all objects you use to <yourname>_ObjectName - Mmkay? I'll double check it for you later, though.

I'll reveal what I'm doing - you know at the start of Rocky Horror, how there are those red lips? I'm trying to animate a version of that to the lyric, "Let's do the time warp again!" Methinks it'll be some major frame by frame, though.

Alright.

Easy way to get respect?

1. Have sex with one of the hot female teachers.
2. Take a picture of the act.
3. Put it on MySpace.
4. ?????
5. PROFIT!

Seriously, though, asking for social advice on Newgrounds is like sticking your cock in a vat of Sulphuric Acid.

It's going to hurt.
