A certain event springs to mind after having read all of the posts in this thread... September 11th. A lot of people submitted Flash to Newgrounds after this event to commemorate the victims and their loved ones. But there were some members who couldn't resist posting a bad review.
I remember seeing a short film of a woman looking out of the window in the World Trade Center and seeing the plane about to hit the building. I think anyone who can make movies of the quality that was, and anyone who decided they wanted to do something in light of this event is very brave and should be respected on Newgrounds. Actually, I think the movie itself made the front page.
However, there just had to be someone who decided they didn't give a shit about what had happened and the thousands of innocent people that lost their lives that day. They didn't seem to care that people at that time were very very sad after losing close friends or loved ones. That made them look selfish and pompous, and they were obviously thinking something like "Oh, I don't care about these people. Nobody I knew died. I don't give a shit. I know, I'll post some crap reviews on Newgrounds to pass the time while other people mourn for loved ones". That was the kind of attitude going around on this site over the weeks following September 11th. I saw reviews like "That was the gayest film I've ever seen" - since when has a simple bunch of pictures be GAY?! Maybe the author of that review was GAY, I don't know, and I really do not care about him/her, I just wanted to know how and why he had the urge to say a very well drawn and animated movie was GAY. Oh, I forgot, maybe he couldn't be bothered to remember that people had died and countless others were very upset at this tragedy.
That is the sort of user I want to see banned from Newgrounds.
