I set a fullscreen Flash doc which had a infinite for loop run when the mouse was clicked in my Maths class on our shit computers. I got it round about 10 computers out of the 25 ish there. All because the teacher could close the games we were on. He got pretty pissed off that he couldnt control it anymore and logged the 10 pcs off.
OH LE NOES
Wrap your code in an Enterframe function.
onEnterFrame = function(){
//code
}
Baked beans are sweet.
So you have like 4 frames with each corner of the room in, on the buttons you put
on(release){
if(_root._currentframe==(frame number with the bottom)){
// do stuff
}
}
So it will only do the action if the timeline is on the corner of the room which the button is on.

if(_root._currentframe==2){
//allow actions in that corner
}
I'm an artist :(
I also code...

Ever so sorry.
Well if they're both being attached they'll all have different instance names so you'll have to do teh hitTest with a for loop on either the bombs or the people (inside the movieclip on the frame);:
onEnterFrame = function(){
for(i=0;i<100;i++){
if(this.hitTest(_root["person"+i]){
//do stuff
}
}
}
}
This is only of course if you people are named "person1", "person2" etc. and will only hitTest up to "person100". I'm pretty noobish wil for loops so could some decent coder correct me if I'm wrong? :P

Listen to Bubbowrap. My first walk cycle was awful. I didnt really stick with walk cycles to perfect them but, everytime I needed to do one I improved.

Its your thread, you get advice. And you do that.
Nice one.
Yes you do cause its bloody awful
Well I have an AS3 platfomer already coded, but i'd like to know what else is needed just to know if I could do it.
So what's the games genre, storyline?

That's my point, there's actual subject in the Reg lounge.
Your dad died? :( I'm sorry man.

Its a cartoon game so the speed of the attacks don't have to be as slow as they d be in real life ^^
Yeah the speed of the attacks is fine but theres not enough fluency in them,
I'm fine with the Reg Lounge.

My dad lol!
I'm sorry I dont watch cricket :P Hockey is the only sport I've ever been good at.
it doesn't look too impressive. It has ok graphics, I don't like the attack animations because they seem like 3 frames making them too quite and look like a rushed job. The combos dont seem very versatile and it all seems like pretty bland gameplay. I need something to challenge me, and not just a boss with a shit load of life.

Someone died.
So you want an Artist who draws and a Programmer who codes.
And you do the backgrounds? When the artist is perfectly capable of doing them themselves?
