Oooh this was part of a few discussions I was in today. My teacher thought Khamenei shouldn't have come over...by talking to the highly educated students of Columbia U he just restated what everyone already knew: he's a pretty insane and almost definitely dangerous type of guy. It really bolstered his image even more in Iran though, because now they think he's ever so brave to go right on American soil and say all the crap he did. At least that's what he said..havn't read any articles about the reaction he got in Iran yet..

Other than the fact that we may indeed go to war with his country soon...I don't know why we can't see this as just another controversial political figure trying to peddle his views to others. If the Prime Minister of England wanted to give a speech, then as the the leader of another nation he should be allowed to. Those listening could then agree or disagree with what the Prime Minister would be saying...but at least they'd both sides of the issue.

I've never really experienced first-hand a racial or otherwise biggoted attack against another...so it's kinda hard for me to believe that so many people actually have the sentiments expressed in the article at this point in time. The only way I think these hateful views could be stopped though is if you educate these people's kids...

I dont know why you put that other stuff but it was unnnecessary.

Oh, I kinda thought it was...cause your website inspired me...
Like in most "predictions" about the future...they're not seen to be miraculous until they become true. Most horoscopes work because in hindsight, you see that the vague jumble of words do turn out be be true in a way...but that's because the situations described in horoscopes are general and could be interpreted to fit almost anything. Your website worked backwards...It already had the situation, so they were trying to find the right jumble of words to fit it. Naturally, most words didn't fit right...so they kinda tweaked them a bit to fit the particular situation.

Also people of that time of the belief when the Earth was teh center of teh universe interpreted the scriptures wrong which in somecases happends a human error. Which was fixed later on.

And you yourself could most certainly be misinterpreting what the bible says, because of "human error", right? So...I guess the way they interpreted the scripture on the website could also be wrong, and they're really just grasping at straws?

There's more middle-agers now than there were in 1977...so there'd be more people in prison just based on the fact that the population's bigger. Soo I was wondering how much of the jump of people in jail had to do with the population being larger, rather than a larger percentage of the population doing bad things compared to the population 30 years ago.*

If we leave Iraq..just pull out alltogether, it'll just be anarchy and everyone will be like ZOMFG WTH? And ya..everyone WILL kill each other until a new Saddam-like dictator takes charge. At that point, there will then be an ORGANIZED effort to plot revenge on those nasty Americans and punish them for their dastardly way of life. Chances are, they'll get their hands on some nuclear/destructive material and then there will be no USA, or Israel, or something very sinister if not total annihilation. Here are some of the examples I have come up with for women. Women want to be equal to men in the workplace and in society. For those of you in university, I ask how many of your school's gym's have men only hours? How many have women's only hours? I know my school has women's only hours. Okay, women may not feel ocmfortable working out infront of men, I can deal with that.

And men are usually the ones using the gym, therefore there aren't special "men's only hours".

Lets look on a more individualistic scale. Women expect the little things men do to still happen despite the fact they want to be equal. They expect the man to still hold the door for example, other other chivalry gestures.

Or it could be viewed as just..being nice..

:Look at house work. While I do realize there continues to be a gap between men and women in the house this gap is shrinking. Men are now being expected to pitch in more, dishes, laundry and house cleaning, traditional female roles.

Because it's fair for women to have to come home after they've also worked an 8 hour day and do all the domestic chores that used to be a full-time job for homemakers

However I see very little movement of women taking on masculine roles, such as mowing the lawn, shoveling the drive-way, fixing the sink or taking out the garbage.

The Mexicans mow the lawn, the kid down the street shovels the drive-way, my mom takes out the garbage cause she wakes up earlier, and my dad calls the repair man for the sink.

Lets look to minorities now. One could argue that the gap between whites and blacks has closed to a mere crack, rather than the giant cannoyn it use to be.

One could also argue that there's still a long way to go..

How many of your schools have a black student union, African student association etc? How many of you have a white people's union, or a European students union? No one would stand for such a thing.

There isn't at my school. But I'm guesing since the majority of students at whichever school are white...and don't need to feel motivated my having a "white people's union", because they take their skin-color for granted.

There are scholarships that only black people can have, but no such scholarships exist for poor white people only. Poor white students need money just as much as poor black students.

True, but I always thought the scholarships were more for black kids who're really in financial need, like they live in a "ghetto" house and only live with their mom..and they have no chance at even going to a community college witout financial aid. I really don't know any white kid in that situation.
