Nah, I think it more along the lines of the 10-12 hours my parents work each weekday, the 14+credit hours I take each semester, 3+hours of studying each day, you get the idea, hard work.

My point was I asked for two things, I ended up with a huge surprise. Sure for the work I put in I deserved every gift I received, but the fact that I was given much more than I expected does make me feel quite spoiled.

Anyway the AR-15 makes an excellent Varmint rifle when you need to shoot multiple times in order to actually hit more then one target quickly.

Sure, like hunting with a semi-auto of any kind can actually be called hunting, give me a break.

I only asked for a Nature subscription and a new wallet and my parents ended up buying me all this:

Taylormade RBZ 3-wood
Ben Hogan Riviera wedge
Coach Wallet and $50
New MacBook
Nature Subscription
Radar detector
2 dozen Titleist golf balls and golf gloves
Jawbone Boombox
2 italian sweater vests
wiring tools
italian shirts
versace cologne
godiva chocolates
misc stocking stuffers
some other things I can't remember

...and condoms. I told them next year to buy me the non-lubricated Trojans it was just hysterical.

My big issue with guns and crimes related to guns is that a criminal can murder another man in cold blood, get let out of prison in 20 years and do it all over again. If you kill a man for an xbox, $20, gang shooting, or for some bullshit reason you belong in prison for the rest of your life, period.

As for guns themselves, I don't see why semi-automatic rifles, machine guns, submachine guns, and all of these ridiculous things are needed for "hunting and self defense". These guns are designed to kill as many people as possible as efficiently as possible, there is no reason for them to be legal for anything.

Nearly finished my new club set. So far I have my 1-E Ben Hogan Director irons, 56* Ben Hogan Riviera SI, and my Ping Answer Scottsdale putter. All I need to buy now is a new grip for the 1iron, a Riviera 60* lob wedge, and a new 14* 3-wood, I still need to figure out what brand.

Obviously this means I'm not including a driver in this set, just a low-loft 3-wood.

Haha you had all of that teed up and ready to go didn't ya? Funny how you didn't list WWII, which accounts for more deaths than all of those wars you listed combined. So if the U.S. wasn't there to intervene, mass genocide would have continued to a much much greater extent.

Yeah, probably millions of less people murde..... I mean it would be a terrible thing ,,,, simply terrible if the Facist Police States of America hadn't come into existence. Response to: Should women be allowed in combat? Posted December 8th, 2012 in Politics

Of course they should. Most infantry combat is fought with guns, not swords, bows, hastas, etc. so strength for the most part isn't relevant. The exception is in close combat situations, which I believe still won't be a problem if she's had the same proper training as everyone else.

My job in the field of science is to dispel false notions and bring in the facts through example and experimentation. On top of this I actually care a little about how others treat their bodies. I've had plenty of vegetarian friends and being in the biology department I come across many vegetarian college students and I'm used to debating with them. I'm not very talented at texting and my arguments in writing definitely come across as quite serious. Other than that I'm quite comfortable and gifted with my social skills and interactions few students involved in hard science actually have.

Nutrition is not my field of interest or study, but I do still care about the human condition. In order to maintain the normal nutrient intake levels a person would obtain through a balanced diet of meat vegetables, etc., a vegetarian must take extensive steps to make up for the lack of nutrient intake. The truth is most don't and that's why it's such a risky commitment.

Making up a trend based on personal observation with no evidence backing it up whatsoever is how to come to false conclusions. Most vegans eat products that don't contain GMO's? Meat is not genetically modified so I don't understand what you're getting at. GMO's are another HUGE misconception among the public that does need to be addressed, probably in another thread.

I haven't.

Where the hell is this ridiculous notion of "meat causes cancer" coming from? Here are some experiments that hopefully will shed some light. The New England Journal of Science and BMJ Group.

As you can see, there is no correlation of consuming red meat and an increased risk of heart disease or cancer, but rather higher saturated fat intakes increasing risk for heart disease and colon cancer. Seriously take a scientific approach to life, don't just jump to conclusions based on uneducated observations.

You miss my point. I am saying vegetarians can lead as healthy as a lifestyle as meat eaters. I use athletes as an extreme example to show that you can go far, even if not as far as them.

They are an extreme example. To say that the average citizen can afford a vegetarian lifestyle that won't deprive us of the nutrients we absorb naturally from meats is ridiculous. Not only that, it is far healthier to just maintain a balanced diet of meats and vegetables opposed to taking supplements of any kind.

Also it's not about saving cows for me, it's about having less cows on the planet. We're tearing down rain forests to graze these things and using a whole lot of arable land to make feed.

It doesn't matter, all vegetarian arguments and logic are just laughable, like the point you just made. Rainforest soil is very poor and nutrient lacking, not suitable or profitable for most of all farming. Tropical rain forests are cut down and harvested for timber, not for farmland.

Trying out a more hip-based swing on the range today was disastrous, I just couldn't find the consistency or distance so that was pretty discouraging.

The reason why all professional athletes are in better shape than other segments of the population is because they undergo specialized muscle training, take supplements, possess genetic advantages, and they can afford to eat whatever will maximize their performance. In terms of choosing to be vegetarian while maintaining a healthy external and internal bodily figure, you need additional supplement of vitamins, minerals, and macronutrients you are depriving yourself of. These supplements are expensive to make, not absorbed as thoroughly into the body as their natural forms, and are no better for the environment than "saving the cows".

No, kids and you vegans get 10x the amount of Vit B you need daily from all of the energy drink you chug. Excess of any vitamin is not a "good" thing, we simply piss out the excess.

Red meat has a rich source of iron, protein, and is suitable for low carb diets.

Chicken and turkey have just about the highest protein to fat ratio, i.e. the most protein and least amont of fat per gram amongst all foods.

Fish is the champion of meats. Not only does it has an ultra low sat. fat content, it has great amounts of good macronutrients like protein and unsaturated fats. Omega-3 fatty acids, vitamins and minerals, it is brain food!

Humans are arguably one of the most complex species on this planet, we require an immensely diversified diet in order to maintain good health, energy, proper brain function, and successfully reproduce. So keep pretending you know what's best for the body and flaunting around your vegetarian badge. Your body along with all other strict vegetarians will either swell up in its search for protein or become nothing but skin and bones from severe malnourishment.

I need a few effective exercises that isolate your hip muscles, preferably ones I can do at my apartment. I learned that my hip muscles will actually generate much more power and speed in my golf swings opposed to just my arm speed.

I can really only think of cable resistance exercises and 6 inch killers, but those don't really isolate your hips.

What lengths do you take to recycle Posted November 30th, 2012 in Politics

Having lived in America and in a neighborhood where your recyclables are actually picked up at your house, I have taken the recycling process for granted. Since I've graduated from community college and moved, I've had to gather up the tons of my recyclables and carry them to an on-campus recycle bin. Fortunately, I still don't have to sort them like you have to in Europe.

In terms of what I recycle, pretty much everything that doesn't require a ton of water to rinse. Even if my county doesn't recycle a certain good, lets say styrofoam, I will still place it in the recycle bin to increase the county's/company's incentive to recycle that good rather than throw it away.

I believe strongly in the principles of recycling, no matter how poor America's recycling industry is when compared to Europe's. There simply isn't an unlimited amount of resources on this planet, even today the majority of the U.S. population doesn't seem to understand this fact.

With all this being said, I don't wear the "oh I recycle" smug badge. It's just a part of my nature to conserve and reuse old goods. That's probably why I play golf with 40-year-old irons, drive a 14-year-old car, collect pre1982 pennies, etc.

A workout routine will really boost your self esteem. Even if it's just waking up 30mins earlier every morning to do some sit ups, planks, or six inch killers. If you work out in the morning just make sure you eat breakfast first, otherwise you may actually lose muscle.

Even if you have a shit day, you can say to yourself "well at least I worked out today!"

For what it's worth, I recently started running at 7mph rather than the 5.5mph I used to be able to peak at.

You can always do more cardio. I to prefer to run before I lift to get the blood pumping and help me poop lol. If you want to boost your stamina for running, do some abb work. A strong core will help you breath easier, keep you from falling over while running, and will help you run farther. If you're running or jogging correctly, you should feel pressure in your abbs with each step.

I currently play with 1974 Ben Hogan Director forged blades E-2 (Equalizer needs to be re-gripped and 2-iron will arrive on friday), Ping Answer Scottsdale putter, Callaway Squareway 5 and 3-woods, and Callaway FT-IQ 8.5* tour driver. Ben Hogan Riviera SI and Gap wedges have yet to arrive and be re-gripped.

At Christmas time I'm planning on buying a new driver and 3-wood (most likely will end up being Taylormade Rocketballz), replacing my 5-wood with a 2-iron, and strengthening my Equalizer to a lower loft.

This is my current set so far.
