You write the skit yourself.

anyway, I'll judge also lol

Yeah but its very brief. At least give me a scenario, i.e.

Your a survivor of the Apocalypse, using your voice acting skills, make a speech about what happened, your thoughts and how you survived etc.

Well feel free to put something together over a period of time, after the competition ends in December, should be enough time for you to cook something up if possible.

You might wanna figure that out before dangling a contest in our faces, no one wants to enter a contest (Especially after what you said in the quote below) not knowing if they have a chance to win $5000 or $1.

but please note, choosing to enter gives us the right to use the submission as we choose.
So, are you saying anyone who enters the contest gives up exclusive rights to the song they create? Because you just entered a whole new ballgame if that's the case, people don't charge lightly for giving up exclusive rights to their creations.

I gotta say, this contest is very unclear, and very shady in the way you're running it. If you're running (or part of) a company, maybe you should conduct yourself as such and give us all the information instead of "You'll get money, but we aren't telling you how much" and "Oh yeah, your song now belongs to us."

No no no. You misunderstand and there's no need to be nasty about it, I will any questions.

To answer you first question, right now we're looking between £30 and £50 with the possibility of a copy at release. Most of our budget has been spent reserving hotels and traveling to GAMEFest and EuroGamer, bur I haven't seen any other competitions on here where cash is a prize. Even if there is, we're a small company and money is money. Whether it's £10 or £100, nobody is forcing you to do this, musicians come on here to gain experience yes? So money shouldn't be everything to an artist. As a games design student at University as my day thing, you know money isn't everything to an artist.

Secondly that simple means if we choose to use it in a video, you'll be credited but we shouldn't need to ask permission to do so. Simple, no ulterior motives, should we choose to use it in video content later down the line or even host it as a download on our site as well as Newgrounds, you're agreeing to let us use the song if we would like. Again you will be credited where ever it is used.

Twisted Metal Remix Competition Posted September 2nd, 2011 in Audio

Hello all!

My name is Dan, I'm a video games journalist for a company called 'The Games Ingredients' here in the UK and we need talented musicians for a competition of ours.

Basically, we've all but reserved a review copy of Twisted Metal, the PlayStation 3 exclusive that was due September but now coming early 2012. As such, we're going to do a video review for it and that's where you guys come in, but instead of hiring someone, we're running a competition to give fair chance.

We want to hear your twisted take on the Twisted Metal original theme, heard here:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-fDfwpghv cg

And here:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I1nnHbF7C rM

The competition is open until early December so plenty of time, but if you'd like to post your material as you progress, such as early recordings or snippets, then that's totally cool. You can submit your final work at any point in time.

There are no restrictions on what kind of music you provide, we will be judging all of these on a basis of enjoy ability and personal preference to have as little bias as possible, though I would imagine most of you would choose metal. Though it would certainly be interesting to see what your twisted mind can come up with though, so seriously there is no set genre, whatever you want to do, you have total artistic freedom.

To submit your work once it's done, either personal message me on this site with a link, or e-mail it to my journalism account, dtaylor@thegamesingredients.net

The reward for the winner will be a currently unset cash prize, we will be sending this to the winner via Paypal as a gift so if you don't have Paypal, then you'll need one. We will also be using the music you provide inside the video review, which we hope to show to David Jaffe and Scott Campbell as well as the rest of the team at Eat Sleep Play. You will be duly credited for it where ever necessary. We will be happy to provide a reference for you in future but please note, choosing to enter gives us the right to use the submission as we choose.

Thanks all, any questions I'll answer in the thread.

I am using CS3. :)

Some simple questions for ya'll Posted December 9th, 2009 in Game Development

Okay, so I'm not a master with Flash, we've established that. However I do need some help for a small Newgrounds animation that I am making with Mortal Kombat sprites. I have two very important questions that I require answering.

The first question:

I am looking to have the stage and everything on it slowly fade to black and back in at one stage. How would I accomplish this?

The second question:

What is a good frame rate to make the animation look smooth? What techniques can I use to ensure smooth animation?

Many thanks for help given.

A simple question for NG users ^^ Posted September 30th, 2009 in Game Development

Okay so I am not a complete noob with Flash, but I am certianly not as experienced as the users on this site. I just want to ask how many frames a second should my animation run at for a smooth transition? I mean using image and shape tweening the animation just looks bad, but what do you recommened to make the animation look smoother?

To explain a little more, one of my college tasks is to use Flash to make a banner for a games design company looking to advertise their games via e-commerce and I choose one of Pacman going across the screen eating the letters, so help would be appreciated.

Alrighty then, allow me to explain me current predicament.

For my animation assignment in college I have to make an educational animation for children about something academic. So Im using wallace and gromit to explain homophones, but I have a problem. I need to link scene 1 and scene 2 through a button. Scene 1 is just an opening screen if you will and there is a button on there which I would like to play scene 2 upon clicking it.

I can't find it in behaviours and I don't know any action scripting. So if you could kindly help me anyone I sure would appreciate it.

Hrm, still no word. Posted January 9th, 2009 in Audio

I uploaded a song, just over a fortnight ago and I haven't heard anything yet. I know I have made a topic about this before and I don't want to get into trouble but I was hoping it would have been up by now and I don't know how to check on its status. If anyone can give me some advice I would surely appreciate it. Once again, sorry for being a pest. ^^'

Should it have been approved by now? Or is there a shortage of free time with it being Christmas? Im sure there is a reason......
