Yeah, I was just about to ask...what IS an atheist symbol?
Honestly? I'm an atheist and I think those suing are dicks. When I see a cross on the side of the road, I don't associate it with religion. I just think "oh, someone died there." Likewise, I realize a cross is meant to be a memorial. I've seen memorial crosses. The fact is, somewhere along the way crosses became associated with memorials, not necessarily in a religious way.
These atheists are hypocrites. The 9/11 cross is not meant to shove religion down anyone's throat, but they're shoving their non-religion down people's throats.
My old phone died and I now have a Droid Bionic. This is my first smartphone so I'm still a little overwhelmed by the features. I also need to get my fiance to quit playing with it. XD
Those pictures are gorgeous. I love birds of prey.
Heard from a friend of mine in Northeastern Ohio. There's an eagles' nest in her neighborhood somewhere. One day, an eagle landed in a tree in her backyard and was eying a groundhog. A bunch of smaller birds swarmed it, chirping, and annoyed it enough that it went away. Strength in numbers, I guess.

I disagree about Romney. He's a fairly "safe" choice compared to some of the others in the field, and is less likely to scare away centrists than, say, Perry. Romneycare is gonna come back to bite him in the ass if it hasn't already though. His campaign team needs to differentiate it from Obamacare.
Perry and Paul have a good shot. They are a stark contrast to Obama. of course, if some jackhole decides "I didn't get nominated so I'm running 3rd party!" then Obama is guaranteed a 2nd term anyway.
Totally agree, especially if said jackhole has a following.
The left is a far more efficient machine than the right, they defend each other more often than not, unless they are running against each other, then it's about as vicious as anything else, of course, once one gets chosen over the other, the other immediately seems to forget all the negative things they've said and defend the other person like a loyal guard dog.
Will Rogers once said, "I am not a member of an organized political party. I am a Democrat." This rings true even today. When Republicans are in control, they are a well-oiled machine. Democrats couldn't get anything done with a supermajority thanks to petty infighting. There is some support of fellow party members, but not so much as the Republicans. Part of the reason I see for this disorganization is in the past, Republicans reigned in their loose cannons. Boehner is unable to do this which is why his credibility and control of the House GOP are hurting. Democrats generally don't do anything about their own loose cannons, which leads to infighting and schisms.
Right out of high school, 18-19, is way too young to be getting married. You have no life experience, no real chance at a stable job, and people change. I was not the same person at 22 I was at 18. I'm sure this is why a lot of couples who marry at this age get divorced. In terms of life experience, maturity and financial stability, I'd say 25+.
A Steelers coaster. Maybe I could cram it up its ass?

I had one of those too. Had a bunch of stuffed animals as a kid, but as I've gotten older, have either given them to younger relatives or sold them at a garage sale. Except for a purple Beanie Baby octopus I call Ultros. My dog got to him once so he only has one eye. Can't sell a Beanie Baby with one eye.
I saw a bird at the Germantown exit. I see lots of falcons around here but the wingspan was way too big for it to be a falcon. Once I got closer I saw it was a bald eagle circling around his lunch. Those birds are awesome. And here Benjamin Franklin wanted our national bird to be a turkey. :P
Down here in Fairfax I see no earthquake or hurricane damage. A lot of people thought the earthquake was actually a terrorist attack at first since we're so close to the White House.
I'll be returning home tomorrow. Home is far west enough Irene didn't bother us any. I'm told here that there was a ton of wind and rain, but no power loss. Maryland, however, got walloped. Tons of people still without power, and a lot of schools are closed.
My cursive is terrible. I only use it to write my signature.
But some of you folks have lovely handwriting.
I wouldn't worry so much if Irene weren't moving so slowly, you know?
I just returned from a bar. I was there and Governor Corbett came on TV talking about the hurricane warnings in Delaware and Philadelphia counties. Hurricane warnings?! Here?! Makes me wonder if Wade and the NG crew are gonna be OK, especially given how slowly Irene is moving now.
Now I'm REALLY worried about my trip...
Look, people: for those of us who are unaccustomed to tropical weather, this IS a huge fucking deal. I just got done yelling at someone I know from New Orleans. Look at it this way: would you expect a Texan to know what to do in a blizzard? No. Then why should you expect Long Islanders, who haven't seen a hurricane since 1938, to know what to do?
For Mayor Bloomberg, it's a no-win situation. Nobody has cars...so he shuts down the subway system. But if it floods, people die if it's not closed, and they'd be all "HURR WHY DIDN'T YOU SHUT DOWN THE SUBWAY?!!"
My trip to Fairfax is still on. Hopefully I can find a hotel Monday night.
I need to drive to Fairfax Monday for a business trip. So yeah...I'm a little worried. Hopefully Irene moves quickly.
If he doesn't make the primary, Huntsman (or Ron Paul for that matter) could make a serious impact as a primary candidate. Let's face it, Obama hasn't been that great, but the current Republican frontrunners aren't so great either, and there are a lot of folks disillusioned with both parties out there. Granted, Paul would make more of an impact as a third party candidate, but remember the impact Ross Perot had in `92.
The place I work for is not screwing around with Irene. On Monday before 9 AM EST all the supervisors have to call down the phone tree to make sure we're all OK. If I don't receive a call I need to call my supervisor. Even those of us in different states, like me, need to do it to make sure everyone's accounted for. I'm not sure how powerful Irene will be when she goes by the home office but we already have contingency plans in place.
I heard something about mandatory evacuations in NYC. Any truth to that? I've been looking through news articles and see nothing.
I will admit I'm a bit worried about Philly too.
I'm supposed to travel to Fairfax Monday for work, which is why I had been monitoring Irene. Not sure if that will be happening now but as far as I know it's still on.
I think I'm far west enough in PA that Irene won't be a problem, but as I drove around today I realize I live approximately 10 minutes from where those flash floods killed those people. It was starting to rain when I was at that exact spot too, so I was a bit creeped out.

It still does have its issues though, like the suicide rate from kids who feel they can't live up to the standards. I like the discipline of it, but there is the possibility of it turning kids into robots.
I know some school districts here in the US already do year-round school. I wonder how their test scores/graduation rates fare as opposed to summer break schools. I know South Carolina is year-round but comparing them to a state with both year-round and summer break schools would skew the results.
My fiance and I are now sleeping on a Tempurpedic mattress on the floor after his cheap-ass IKEA bed frame broke for good not too long ago. That's the third and final time it broke with him in it. If he had listened to me when I told him several times to buy a new bed frame because that was cheaply made crap we wouldn't be having this problem.
Anyway, he has the mattress but no foundation/box springs so that makes buying a bed frame a little difficult. I am NOT buying another bed with slats, and I also refuse to buy anything from IKEA after his bed frame went kaput for good after only four years. The metal crossbars are damaged beyond repair and the bed WAS put together correctly. I found a decent-looking frame we can use for roughly $179, way less than getting a foundation for the mattress. But now he's all freaking out about "will this work?!" I dunno, maybe you should have been that diligent when I told you there were problems?! Either way, we're short on options so I'm gonna run it past him one more time tomorrow and I think that's the one we'll go for. We're adults and it's time to sleep in a big boy/big girl bed, not on a floor mattress.
Picking wedding music is harder than I thought. Shoot, just the ceremony I keep mulling over. I did pick "The Prince of Denmark's March" for the recessional. One of my friends ended up cracking me up when I played the clip for him and he said. "Good evening. I'm Alistair Cooke and welcome to Masterpiece Theater." Hopefully I can quit thinking of that in time for the wedding. XD

Look at the photo below your last post. Would you kiss that or let it go down on you?
....yeah, didn't think so. :P And he has to go down on me to get his cock sucked. Give and take.
Back when my guy had gingivitis I wouldn't kiss him, let alone go any further with him. So there.
I'll soon have a full-time job! Just waiting on the offer to go through now.
My fiance and I are heading back to my hometown to get our marriage license Friday. Once I'm able to obtain it we need to make another trip to show it to the judge marrying us. It's a 2 hour drive and his work schedule is very unreasonable so that's why it requires so much planning to go up there. Ideally, we'll go up and show him on the same day we get it but we'll see what happens. Still, the wedding is September 30th so that's plenty of time.
In the meantime, we need to pick our music and write our ceremony and vows but that should be fairly easy. I'll need to drive home for a cake consultation once we get a final head count too.
There had been a severe thunderstorm warning issued 10 minutes before the concert was to start, and the line of storms heading towards that area had a history of lightning and other destruction. So why the fuck was the concert not postponed/cancelled and the place not evacuated? If I were running an outdoor event, I would keep an eye on the weather, especially in the Midwest where it's downright crazy at times.
Ah, okay, that makes sense. I was moving the week Tom posted that and wasn't online much so I must have missed that. (I don't remember reading best of June either.) Sorry for the stupid question. :P

These things. Never used one but it appears unwieldy. From what I hear they're popular in Europe though.
Cocks don't always taste that great either. Especially semen. Though it depends on the man's diet according to urban legend. Fortunately, my honey's isn't bad but I have heard otherwise from female friends with their boyfriends/husbands.
As for the women the OP is discussing, I agree there's a hygiene/health issue. Women should not taste or smell bad. I'm not saying it should taste great but I think you get the idea.
Oh, and BTW...if a guy has had a condom on and you're going down on him it tastes BLECH!! Then again it may be the same for the female condom.
OK, maybe it's because I'm a woman that I wonder about this stuff but...
I remember a newspost a while back where Tom said he wasn't going to the San Diego Comic-Con since April was due for their second baby in July. Well, it's August now and we haven't heard anything...Is she overdue, did she have the baby, or shouldn't I be asking? I apologize if I shouldn't be asking this question.
I do wonder exactly how important straw polls are. Lots of times they seem more symbolic. The article also brings up a good point: how will Perry's entry into the race cut into her numbers? Both tend to appeal to the same evangelical demographic.
I do wonder if this is a harbinger of the primaries. If a Bachmann or Palin gets the nomination, Obama would most likely be reelected. As mentioned in another thread, fringe candidates scare the centrists and independents.
