Also, angry Envy Apparel guy- you never mentioned that you didn't intend to sell the design for profit in the original thread. All of your subsequent posts were equivocal. Sorry about the misunderstanding, but in the future, you need to be clearer about this sort of thing. Mods get very angry when they notice someone trying to rip people off on their fucking forum! Oh snap! And by now you've broken enough rules for this topic to be locked anyway.
The point is, you're going to be making money off of this. The design is what gives the T-Shirt any value beyond just a blank white T-Shirt. So unless you're selling the shirts for the same price as you bought them (no) you are profiting from their idea.
So in return for the entrant's intellectual property, which will be used by you to make a profit in the hundreds, they get... a T-Shirt.
What a rip off!
Also, forums have rules for a reason. Usually posted conveniently at the top.

Most people separate their Internet lives from their social networking. Do you want your friends to know that you dig a flash called "Scrotum the Puppy"?
Also, have you seen Mark Zuckerberg? He's a pasty Jewish guy. Tom Fulp could probably beat the crap out of him easily. And Newgrounds is more than ten years older than Facebook. So if anything, Facebook should be advertising Newgrounds.
On a related note, Zuckerberg has a pretty hot girlfriend. She probably stands a better chance in a fight against Tom than that loser does. Pussy.

Canada and the U.S. have what's called in nature a symbiotic relationship. The U.S. provides them with military support, an economic market, and access to the rest of the Americas. In return, Canada supplies the U.S. with maple syrup, national gas, and Degrassi. Also, you provide a buffer between Sarah Palin and anywhere she could actually wield political power.
As far as living in a neutral country goes, I see two distinct types of neutrals:
a. Teutonic countries (+ Finland) with free healthcare and education that have such pleasant, homogeneous, and well-armed populations and well-funded governments that they don't fear anything. (i.e., Switzerland, Norway, Canada)
b. South Pacific nations that are too far away from everyone else to really give a shit about the world and prefer to just sit on the beach and drink. (i.e., Australia, most of Polynesia)

So I was browsing the forum, and I saw that there's a lot of controversy around this community center going up in Tribeca. I thought I'd get all the facts and present them here.

45-47 Park Avenue, located in Lower Manhattan, has an Italianate storefront built in the 1850's. It's a local landmark and kind of a historic monument in the area. The building is only about 2 blocks from Ground-Zero, and after 9/11 there was a lot of concern that it received damage. Photo
Over the years, Park 45-47 served as a lot different things, most notably a Burlington Coat Factory. The building was eventually acquired by Soho Properties, who recently agreed to sell the property to a group of wealthy philanthropists. The group intends to tear down 45-47 Park and build in its place a non-profit community center, called Park51, after the site's new address. The locals were upset at the prospect of having an iconic neighbourhood landmark demolished, so they petitioned the people behind Park51 to relocate. The group behind the community center sympathized, but they stated that they believed that their initiative would be more productive to the community as a whole. Park51 intends to offer youth programs, recreation, as well as a small chapel. Its stated goals include encouraging education and empowering youth in the city.
In 1989, Park 45/47 was requested to be put on a list of 'landmarked', or historic, buildings in Manhattan. After sitting on the list for a few years, a committee voted it down. Almost all of the other places requested were put on the list, but the committee decided that it was more important to allow the community center to be built than to preserve the building.
Media outlets were contacted, and the pro-preservationist battle quickly became a national issue. The American Center for Law and Justice, on behalf of a local resident, Timothy brown, has filed suit in the New York Supreme court, asking for the site's historical significance to be noted. Meanwhile, the whole story has been making headlines non-stop, especially on FoxNews.
Many residents ask why the builders of Park51 can't just move the community center somewhere else. Supporters of the center respond with the question of why they should be forced to move it; and how far away from the site would they have to move?
tl;dr An old building is going to be torn down in New York and replaced with a community center, and locals have raised a nation-wide struggle to preserve it.
There's a lot of press about this and a huge outcry from people who really care about this building. What do you guys think? Should they tear 45-47 Park down?

To put it simply, my opinion is:
Anyone over 5 should know not to do what these kids did. Only someone who was mentally ill would do what they did. But there is a gap between knowing something is wrong, and being in control enough to overcome the desire to do something like this.
The kids shouldn't be sent to kiddy-jail. They should be sent to correctional facilities specifically designed to house and treat the mentally ill. The main difference: You don't get released from a psych ward until you are cured. Not when an arbitrary date has determined that you have "repayed your debt to society."
Quick aside- How is wasting taxpayer money on pointlessly locking someone up for a few years repaying a debt to society?
Without intensive therapy, they just have a long stay in a sparsely furnished hotel room. And in the end, getting children like these or the murderers of James Bulger severe help is the only way they won't become a pimple on society's butt.

Some go a bit far, including the PS1 and PS2 roms out there, but the ones like the NES are fine. Most of the copyrights for those games expired, although not the characters and series.
Nothing wrong with that right? It's not like there's still millions being sold of those games or whatever..
There's actually a nice cut-off point. Roms, the little multiple-kilobyte .zips, are extracted from cartridges. So any games from fourth-generation consoles or before, plus N64 games, are Roms.
Excluding the N64, any game fifth-generation or newer (anything post-Playstation or Sega Saturn) uses what are called ISOs, rips from disks. Because newer consoles have built in processors, and don't rely on cart-based circuits, ISOs are a lot more complicated and uncompressed. They take ages to download and are usually torrented, unlike roms which can just be downloaded free and clear.
In addition, the hardware of modern gaming systems is much more complicated. To accurately emulate a Gamecube, you're probably going to need at least a dual-core comp with a gig or two of memory. Emulators for cart-based systems are much smaller, again in the kilobytes.
So there's a natural cut-off point in terms of how easy it is to download games, and this keeps most people from torrenting anything newer than N64 games.
Well, except for the fact that the DS still uses carts. That's the main bone of contention, really. It took Scribblenauts all of ten minutes to end up on file sharing sites. :P
Congrats!

Fan fiction doesn't have to be a set genre, per se, but rather a method through which you can base your writing upon.I was more thinking about how the plot and characters doesn't give it much room for some development of some kind. You're asking us to write a story about a flash series that prides it's self on random violence and thus pays little to no attention to plot and character development.
Actually, I think that's one of the reasons Madness works so as a topic. The fact that there is no plot or even coherence to the storyline give you infinite space to write one for yourself. That's what I'm doing, anyway. It's going to be fun to write for a character who can rationalize all of that shit.
As opposed to say, writing a The Lion King fan-fic. Guess what, Simba is in it. And Mufasa dies.

I'd like to again point out the huge discrepancy in Israeli vs. Palestinian casualties, especially the number of civilians killed. If this does not constitute the use of excessive and overbearing force on Israel's part, I do not know what does.

You're misunderstanding the purpose of incarceration.
In modern penology and the legal realm, there are two goals:
1. To isolate the person, preventing them from harming others
2. To rehabilitate the person, allowing them to live a productive, happy life
If prison isn't in a criminal's best interest, then the law isn't working. Recidivism like what was seen with Venables is a sign that the system isn't working. There's no room for revenge in law, and purposeless punishment is just that.
The judge is making a valid point. Putting the boys in a box for several years and ostracizing them would only make them worse. What's needed is real psychological care and rehabilitation.
Alejandro and Bad Romance are pretty good.
I respect her as an artist, but honestly, not my thing.
I think the kids were obviously disturbed. At 11, they couldn't have had sexual reasons for what they did. And anyway, rape has just as much, if not more, to do with violence than with sex. So what these boys did was to assault a young girl and overpower her.
I personally think the solution would be to move the sentencing of minors away from giving them light adult punishment, and instead focusing on psychological issues behind the crime. By 18, you may have developed emotionally to know right from wrong, but before say, 16, or even 14, it's a lot fuzzier. Children have a much harder time suppressing what are often mental illnesses or traumas that lead to violent crime. Whereas the responsible thing for a mentally ill adult to do would be to seek psychiatric help, children simply aren't introspective enough to make that call. And many parents wouldn't give their child over to ward of the state, even if it meant helping them recover.
Exempli gratia, if someone is abused as a child, and grows up to be violent, it is their responsibility to seek help before they hurt someone. But can an eleven year-old really be expected to know to seek help for that? I believe it is the responsibility of the State to try children fairly, and order them committed to mental facilities if there is any hope of correcting flawed perceptions.
That's just my opinion. I have no background in child psychology, nor any psychology for that matter, to add weight to my thoughts.
