Response to: Png Extension = Php? Posted July 4th, 2006 in Programming

ok... maybe not so much problem solved as i thought

i put this into my htaccess file

<FilesMatch "^.*.png">
SetHandler application/x-httpd-php
</FilesMatch>

and then tried to access my sig pic... except using the extention '.png'... eg random.png as opposed to random.php

and it comes up with a 404 errordocument.

so, i thought, maybe it's got to do with the filesmatch in the htaccess, the '^.*' is just for substitution of your own filename... so i change it to 'random.png'... still same 404 errordocument

Png Extension = Php? Posted July 2nd, 2006 in Programming

Hey, i have a PHP file that is used to display a random sig message, which i put in most forums, however, some forums disallow image extensions of .php, and i know there is a way that it is rewritten to another extension (such as .png) without it ruining it, but i don't know how this is done.

can i assume it's done with htaccess?

portal rankings Posted April 10th, 2006 in Game Development

As much as this may sound like a noobish question, but what is the actual scores which seperate each category on the portal (like 'decent score', 'great score' and 'awesome score').

I was just curious to this fact that neither on the actual portal page and the FAQ does this get mentioned... maybe Tom didn't think this to be very important

i reckon phpBB is poorly programmed, but that's just my opinion

Response to: [Website] Domain Redirect Issue. Posted April 9th, 2006 in Programming

well, like i said, you have to set-up the DNS in the domain, and setup the domain on your webserver... i relatively know how it is done with cPanel

Response to: Your Favorite Bbs System Posted April 9th, 2006 in Programming

vBulletin is very powerful and secure... but MyBB is very good for people who want different implementations in the forums and overall site... and it helps that they finally patched up quite a few security holes in their second release

Response to: [Website] Domain Redirect Issue. Posted April 9th, 2006 in Programming

You are obviously using a URL redirector, which is common with the .tk service, or other free domain services. However, if you're using a payed for domain, you should check that you have in fact payed for a parked domain (i believe that is the term), and correctly change the DNS to your webserver, and to make sure your webserver understands that you're using your own domain

Response to: What is your favourite Song? Posted March 10th, 2006 in General

I dont necessarily have a favourite, but if there was one song i could listen to without it ever getting sick of:

Wolfmother - Joker & The Thief

But, im very taken to

Josh Pyke - Middle Of The Hill

I don't normally like folk songs, but this one is really charismatic, and well, awesome

Response to: Who knows/likes Wolfmother? Posted March 10th, 2006 in General

I myself have been a fan since they made their first recording back in 2004

Who knows/likes Wolfmother? Posted March 10th, 2006 in General

So... do you?

If you're not in the know, Wolfmother is a another revolutionising 70's style rock 'n' roll band from Sydney (Australia), however, like most of those coming out, this one seperates itself from the others with it's psychedelic lyrics, mezmorising riffs and full on rock outs.

If you're one who likes Zep and Sabbath, it's well worth your effort to check them out.

They're currently touring US/UK and Canada, and have released their Dimensions EP.... their full album is being released 2nd May.

You can check out some of their songs on their Myspace page: www.myspace.com/wolfmother

or I have supplied a lesser quality mp3: Joker & The Thief (DOWNLOAD MP3)

Mod's and Admin's, that mp3 is legal under the condition that it is promoting their work, so please do not lock or delete

So, what do you guys think?
