BT don't give a shit how bad their service is because you have no choice but to pay them! (I'm reffering to line rental in general)

On top of that questioning someone's financial situation or status is just plain rude. Just because a website doesn't get much traffic does not mean they are not raking in. I'll have you know I have sites that won't even get 10% of these sites traffic and put both their conversion rates combined to shame!

Mate, it's not rude to question someones financial status when they are offering you work on a forum which is notoriously known for time wasting kids

Have you considered that I AM actually looking at the bigger picture and that any investment I make doesn't have to come from Gamenet revenue. You know nothing about my other ventures and if you did you would know that I have 'the cashflow'. I've employed large teams of people just like you, I have founded, grown and sold businesses in this space and I am a major shareholder in the largest digital agency in the UK (which I also co-founded and is quoted on the London Stock Exchange). I am using other sources to find people but the reason I came to newgrounds was because I was told I might find some great new talent. I like to conduct business in a professional (and sometimes private) manner and anyone interested in talking detail AND RATES can PM me (including proof of what I say above is true). Thank you again for all the PM's so far.

Hi,

Please understand you're not the first person to sign up for an account and post saying you want to hire people. 99% of these posts are just some kids trying to get free work.

The reason I'm questioning you is because you've not given any solid contracts, so it's all very vague. I've PM'ed you anyway if you'd prefer to respond that way

Please show me where you found his and yours alexa rank then, because according to alexa.com (the source of the alexa rank) his site is half the rank of yours. Yours is in the top 68,000, his the top 34,000. He's also mentioned above (and in private if you weren't a dick) that he has run quite a few big sites, I highly doubt he'd do that and then come here to mislead people.

He runs a big flash site (much bigger than rustygames) and has proven he's connected to it so why should he divulge such information in public? Sure if we had no proof who he was, but he's shown that he's running a successful site so you don't need to be so hostile. Maybe he doesn't want to tell everyone what he can afford? He wants to conduct business in a professional manner, say you're interested and speak in private. I highly doubt he wants to give us the figures he can afford in public.

No need to be so hostile guys...

When you advertise for a job you have to advertise a price range otherwise you're wasting everyones time.

Also I'll have you know that according to alexa his game site performs about equally with Rustyarcade.com, and my site has nowhere near the assets to pay a full time wage to anyone in the UK, let alone a freelance wage. 1. A proven portfolio of robust games able to handle millions of players
2. Have solid multi-player expertise
3. Integration experience with third party API's e.g. Facebook Connect, micro payment systems etc

On the other hand, we would pay less (but be equally interested in) those who dont have huge amounts of experience or all of the skills, but have the raw talent and want to gain the experience and work with us long term on some really exciting projects.

Ok say I have experience in all of the above, what would the contract look like for a permanent role. You're avoiding the question

Current market rate for freelance flash dev in the UK is easily £400 a day, is that the sort of cash we're talking?

Hey,

For future reference, I've come up with the solution.

Stupidly the class I had attached to the component was NOT extending MovieClip, and therefore no graphics could be displayed!

All I did was added to the class definition "extends MovieClip" and it worked perfectly :)

The lines would only line up a small percentage of the time, and it would be horribly obvious that it had been cheated.

Yea it will look awful and won't be very easy, displacement filter will look cool I think and will take all of about 30 minutes

I have not before, seems like a good site as well, but I think I'm more impressed by Akinator though. 20q is divided into quite limiting categories, while Akinator often guess right among a huge amount of people with always the same set of questions :)

I do think that A cheats a little though, perhaps by looking up the location of the user's IP for example (he often asked me very early on if the character was Swedish).

Ah that's kinda clever. Macthing IP's to what people are trying.

20Q has many more modes then just the classic, it has a character one too :)

It's simple, just do the reverse. You can also call a function called flush which will make sure it saves it then and there:

so.data.tname
so.flush();
