I'm heading a team who're creating a handful of cartoons for YouTube release. We're accomplish music producers and promoters, with a reasonably-sized audience waiting for new content. We've got the audio side covered completely, are doing the scripting and storyboarding ourselves, and have a really cool illustrator on board. All that's left is the animator, and that could be you.
Any monies made, (I really plan on there being some), will be divided amongst all involved.
Drop us an email over at StabbedPanda@hotmail.co.uk
Hey all, thanks for responses.
I'm working with the team to finish a script or two and get a solid audio demo completed. I'll be in touch when that's done and we can take it from there.
Cheers
Bumping your own post isn't going to help you, it's just going to make admins think you're a tool. Unfortunately there's a disproportionate amount of freelance audio producers on this site, (or, rather, they're the ones with the most free time).
I'm in exactly the same position as you by the sounds of it - looking to do some free work in order to get a decent show reel which will lead to paid work?
Releasing free tracks under a creative commons licence won't do you much good I'm afraid, other than serving as a simple example of your style, quality, etc. You can get a lot of downloads on this site, but I've yet to come across any use of my tracks that I'd be happy to include in a show reel. I know it's a lot more work, but I promise you'll have more luck approaching people and offering to do an exclusive bespoke piece - one that's theirs and only theirs. The examples below are all things that have given me some success...
Indiegogo, Sponsume and Kickstarter. Go on there, find games and indie movies who are looking for funds. If they need money it means they'll be happy for any free music they can get.
Bother the filmmakers who follow IndyMogul on YouTube, (find them on Reddit too)
SoundShoots.com Cool site, just starting to do sync licences.
Approach online radio shows and podcasts, offer to do a free jingle.
Same goes for any let's play YouTube channels - find ones which don't yet have good music, or are using crappy free stuff.
Find a popular YouTube video and redub the audio. Definitely get permission from the copyright holder, don't put any adsense on it, and make it really clear it's a redub for the purpose of your show reel.
Hope this is helpful, let me know if you have any success. Or if you don't for that matter, I may have stumbled across something new by then.
Hey all,
My audio production group is moving into the world of comedy writing, and we're looking for animators and cartoonists to bring our ideas to life! We've got the scripting, voiceover and misc audio side covered, but none of us are good animators - that's where you guys come in!
The plan is to regularly release content to YouTube, sharing any profits evenly between all involved.
Get in touch with any demo animations you've done previously, (don't worry if they have bad audio), either by PMing me, or contacting StabbedPanda@hotmail.co.uk
Cheers
Hey Steven,
Just sent you an email, looking forward to hearing back from you!

I need to bulk-out my jingle show reel, so if anyone on here wants a FREE piece of short intro music for their Newgrounds or YouTube intro's let me know! The last couple tracks on my profile are examples of the kind of thing that's easiest for me to do, but I can be convinced to work in any other styles or aim for particular pieces.
All I need in return is credit wherever the track appears and permission to use the audio and logo in a video compilation.
Comment with any questions, inbox me, or email me at l.taylor_guitar@hotmail.co.uk

I'm going to guess that 2/3 of all these comments are from composers, as there seems to be millions of us... If none of the above have caught your eye then I'd very much like to get involved. I'm a full time freelance musician, (session guitarist, music tutor, composer/producer, and also a podcast producer), so "experienced" doesn't really cover it...
I'll post this link which is the kind of music I do for my own amusement, but there's other tracks in various styles available on my profile on this site: LINK

Hope to hear from you!
Musician here. Also able to do sound design, fx, and voice acting if necessary.

I'm definitely the guy for you ;) Just about to send you a PM, looking forward to hearing back from you.
Is this actually happening, I got in contact over a week ago?

My question is do you intend to sell the product. If you are, then it is disrespectful for you to ask for something free when you will make money off it.
You're absolutely right, and no, no I will not be making any money off of this project. I plan to give some of the disks away, and sell the rest off at cost of production.
Also, that wasn't really a question, it was more of a statement - would you be interested in work on this project now that any notions of my moral dubiousity have been quashed?
NobleOneNinja and toontown1, thankyou for your interest. I'll give this thread another day or two to mature, and upload the designs I had, (as soon as I find the damn thing...). I'd then ask you to interpret them as your own, buff them out or whatever, and we'll take it from there. That cool?
Cheers all.
I'll have a play with some ideas, I have been doing more with DnB elements these days anyway. Is there a deadline or anything you have to work to?
Also, any initial artwork or sketches would be useful to me.
Feel free to, although I'd be happy to write something entirely for your project if you have any really specific ideas? If not, no worries, help yourself to what's online there or on my profile lol.
If the top 2 tracks on here are the kind of thing you're after, let me know, I have a load of similar material waiting for a use:

I need an artist to help with the cover, (possibly inside art too), of an album to be released either this year or next.
The design I had in mind isn't so complicated. The CD is called "Irradiated Hamster Alert", and the initial doodles I had are of a hamster in a lab coat, standing on hind legs looking like something's just exploded in front of him - singed fur, steam lines off the top of the head, somewhat bemused expression. (I'll upload my doodles as soon as I find them...)
In terms of payment I won't be offering money, but am happy to credit anyone involved in the 'thankyous' tab inside the disk. I'll also happily post you a copy of the finished article, along with odds and ends of goodies from projects I'm involved in.
If you'd like to get involved please PM me with any questions, or comment below.
I write soundtracks and do odds and ends of sound FX work. The banner below is my music portfolio, please have a listen and get in contact if you need me. Regards.
Really interesting idea, would love to see how it develops.
When it gets to a point that you need sound fx or music please PM me as I'd love to be involved.
So are you trying to be Prof. Elemental or Mr B?
Good idea, it's just been done a bit I'm afraid...
This is good to know - not heard of the 'Soundclick' service before, but good to know it's one to avoid.
Tbh, this does make a good case for better language when talking to people with more power than you, or when you want something to be done for you. He's obviously been wronged, but he's gone about fixing it in such a bad way.
Also, given the guy's editing and mixing experience, it would have been nice if he edited-out the sound of his thinking... feel like at least 9 minutes of that was the guy breathing...
Anyway.... don't use the word "retarded" when trying to get your way. Lesson learnt.
... ... ... I typed that last bit while still listening... Just hit 12mins. Wow. Watch to 12mins.
But he's still a martyr, kinda needs to stop feeling victimized. people like different kinds of music. people are biased. find a different website.
Essentially I'm doing a glorified music vid - It's more of an advert for what I can do musically than a music vid, but as it's soundtrack and sound design that I'm aiming for I might be better served having something visual along with the track.
I'm going for a Steampunk sort of theme, but drawn in a Marvel Comic style. I don't really need animators, as I'd rather have still frames as if the viewer is reading a comic strip. I have a storyboard worked-out with some initial sketches.
Ideally you'd be able to take my initial sketches of characters and ideas and give me a few fleshed-out versions with different poses / scenes. I also need background images for these scenes. Please PM me if you're interested, anyone with example works of anything in a Steampunk and / or Marvel style will be given precedence.
Full credit will be given, and as I work with a music production company / digital record label you will likely get all sorts of offers of work from artists I work with.
I won't get into details of what I do, I'll just out-line what it is I'm after...
I need an artist or two, (if they can animate as well - BONUS), to collaborate on making artwork for (free) digital music releases, music videos, and a fair bit of for-teh-lulz stuff. I'm really liking the Larry And The Gnomes style cartoons, something similar to this would be ideal for me.
Please get in contact if you're interested, all I can really offer in return is free downloads of the odds and ends of music I'm involved with, (and no, I don't mean the free stuff that's already on my profile :P )
Hey!
I'm into making industriallie-metallie-orchestral-drum n bassie kinda music atm... I realise music is probably the absolute last thing to put into a game, but if you want to let me know when everything else is in place and theres odds-n-ends of artwork for me to look over, I should be able to pull out a few decent tracks.
How about it?
Hey man, I'm wondering if this is the kinda thing you're after - it's kinda orchestral / ambient / hard rock:
Play 'Call Of The Old Gods' on this site... sorry, would have uploaded but I'm not on my home PC.
NB - please do skip forward to 1.30~mins, the intro is... well... long...
Let me know if you would like to use this, if not I'm happy to edit the track accordingly.
regards,
Ronnie
