My personal favourite was:

While I am a fan of that style of animation as it is, what made it work for me had to be the music, it was implemented to perfection and provided great contrast to the frustration of the main character. An excellent flash all round.

Assuming you used ice cubes as opposed to random pieces of ice, they have a pocket of air in them due to the ice cube trays. When you put it into the hot chocolate, the air expanded rapidly as it went from being quite cold to quite hot in a very short space of time, and explosions are defined as rapid expansions of gases. So essentially yes, it was a small explosion.

As I've already stated, well done Lizz, and I'm sure you will do an excellent job in this position, and from what I've read it seems opinion in this regard is virtually unanimous.

Of course, nothing will really change, I will just help out that bit more and such. I'm going to thank Rohan again for requesting me, and I hope that he doesn't go away forever.

It was my pleasure, you were the outstanding candidate and it is no less than you deserve.

No apologies necessary. Life is full of personal issues to take care of, and I'd never blame someone for their personal life taking precedence over Newgrounds.

Thanks man, that's good to hear.

At the moment my situation is this; I have a pretty hectic schedule which basically sees me in college from 9.00-19.00 on pretty much a daily basis, plus given my course I have a lot of lab reports to due. However, with that said I generally still find time to deposit, and then check over the Barracks thread to see if there are any issues requiring immediate attention.
I've been there myself. I would spend all day and all night at college, starting at 8AM and only coming home around 10:30 at night after my last class. In the middle I'd either be working, studying, or doing whatever. Life is hectic, and I can certainly sympathize with your plight. Still I'm glad you find the time to post/lurk/deposit!

Yeah, when I get home I generally have a minor ritual of checking a few different websites, and I manage to squeeze a bit of NG time into that. Plus side is at the weekends I have much longer to spend on things such as NG.

In a nutshell, with your blessing I'd be delighted to accept the 2LCBO position for the time being, and if the situation becomes untenable then I may reconsider my position.
Since you are lurking on a regular basis, I think the position would be good for you, as I am sure you'd be able to jump in in case myself or Phantom are not around. You have people vouching for you left and right, so I know you are the man for the job. :-)

Yeah, frankly I'm a bit overwhelmed at everybody's commendations, as I've seen myself somewhat as the quiet man of the EGB. Still, the support is very reassuring (and it may score me a cameo in Back to the Barracks ;P).

Long time no see Coop :P When I stopped posting in the LUL I pretty much lost most of my motivation to post for the time being, unless it is something I really wish to say. As I've said before, I will be around more for Christmas, which will hopefully translate to more regular posting.
I'd never dare go back to the LUL..there are just way too many congratulations to keep up with :-P I love the idea of the place, but time is ultimately lacking for me there. :-)

Time is the very issue which led me to reluctantly quit being a listmaker, although I thoroughly enjoyed it when I was active, and should circumstances permit I may return once more.

My horse wouldn't kick me, look at my horse, my horse is amazing!
I'm not going to lick it. I don't care it if tastes like raisins.

Really? But it's cool and it can turn into a plane if stroke on its mane (although I daren't tell you how to reverse the change :P)

One last thing. While I do feel I can maintain the role of 2LCBO should Eagle be ok with it, I feel that perhaps the time has come to relinquish the post of NGPD Liaison Officer.
Regarding my successor...my choice would be Lizzardis.
Well, I think you hit the nail right on the head with that one. As you said Lizz is kind enough to manage their roster, and he is highly active with the NGPD as well as the EGB. I can't think of a more perfect person for the role at this time. His actions speak for himself. All that's left for him to do is accept. :-)

That's great, congrats Lizz, I'm sure you'll do a top job in your new role.

To be honest, I'm very unclear on that myself. If I have my facts straight, I'd say that the liaison's presence is to help ensure good relationships between us and the Barracks.

Essentially yes, the main role is maintaining healthy relations between the clubs, answering any queries that prospective EGB members may have, and helping with the transition from NGPD to EGB should a graduate choose to join us when they rank out.

I can't say that this was really the case since most liaisons were met with inactivity (no offense Rohan).

None taken Tails, to be honest I've stepped aside so that my replacement would be more active in this role, which'll hopefully be the case.

But I feel that if Lizz is selected, that'll all change ;)

I've already made my feelings clear to EagleRock, what happens now is up to him.

Hey guys, sorry for being a little late to the party, but I'd just like to congratulate you all on receiving a second chance, hopefully this darker period of NGPD history will remain just that, history.

Down to business: as those of you who know me might know I've been fairly inactive in the last month or so due to college, regarding posting at least, so I felt it was time to step down as NGPD Liaison Officer for the EGB. I'll still swing by now and then, but I'm simply not around enough at the moment to do an effective job. Personally I still hold myself accountable somewhat for the locking, as had been as active as in previous months I may have intervened before a +1 storm unfolded. Anyway, water under the bridge now.

I'm not sure how soon a replacement will come to the fore, but I am sure they will let you know themselves either way. So for the moment, that's it guys, see y'all soon, and keep up the good work!

Also, Tails levelled up? MADNESS!

Sorry it's taken me a while to respond to this, the last few days have been more hectic than usual for me. Before I go any further, I'd just like to thank Slash for all he's done during his tenure as head of the Barracks, as well as the faith he placed in me even back when I was a relatively new member of the Barracks. Hopefully sometime in the future you'll be able to make a grand comeback, just look at Eagle. So yeah, sorry to see you step down, and thanks again man. Really.

At 11/16/09 11:14 AM, EagleRock wrote: But yeah, if Rohan doesn't respond soon, I'll assume he's gone inactive and appoint someone else in the role, at least for now. Unfortunately, I know little about Rohan, but if Slash was willing to appoint him as Emergency Ops, I'm assuming he had a high opinion of the guy. Therefore, I'd like to give him a chance to respond to see if he's going to be active. Otherwise, I'll look to give the role to someone that plans to be more active.

Apologies again for not responding sooner Eagle. So generally, I'm lurking every day, but in the last few months unless there's something pertinent to be said I've lost the motivation to post, and being one who's never posted for the sake of it as is, I probably come off as ridiculously inactive.

In a nutshell, with your blessing I'd be delighted to accept the 2LCBO position for the time being, and if the situation becomes untenable then I may reconsider my position.

At 11/16/09 06:45 AM, Coop83 wrote: What has happened to him lately - I think he stopped posting in the LUL mostly and I haven't seen him around for a while.

Long time no see Coop :P When I stopped posting in the LUL I pretty much lost most of my motivation to post for the time being, unless it is something I really wish to say. As I've said before, I will be around more for Christmas, which will hopefully translate to more regular posting.

And lastly, I will place myself as the Emergency Command Officer, in the event that balrogs kill all of the above.
Should we check to see if Rohan hasn't been eaten by one?

Either that, or he got kicked to death by his own horse.

I was always more of a Gondor lad ;)

My horse wouldn't kick me, look at my horse, my horse is amazing!

At 11/16/09 12:46 PM, michelinman wrote: Also Eagle, Rohan is a great guy. He ran the midyear awards this year and did an excellent job. If he's inactive for too long, I understand, but I'll vouch for his character alongside slash.

Haha, thanks for the vote of confidence michelin, I appreciate it.

One last thing. While I do feel I can maintain the role of 2LCBO should Eagle be ok with it, I feel that perhaps the time has come to relinquish the post of NGPD Liaison Officer. I still lurk the NGPD occasionally, but not often enough, and I still shoulder some of the blame for their locking a few months back as I had promised Tails after the warnings to try and keep things in line. Had I been more active, maybe the whole mess wouldn't have happened.

Regarding my successor, I will leave to Eagle to decide who should assume the position, and how they should be chosen, but I'd like to put my two cents into the decision for what it's worth. There are a lot of great ex-NGPD members here, all of whom would make excellent Liaisions, but for his maturity, activity in NGPD affairs, and displaying his responsibility by maintaining their roster, should he want the position my choice would be Lizzardis. Now again, he may not want the role, or Eagle may feel that there's a better candidate, but Lizz has been a fantastic presence in both clubs and I feel he should be rewarded for his efforts.

Well guys, that's pretty much it. I've got to tear into some lab reports (as usual) but just keep in mind, I am around, and you can always catch me via PM.

It was a very close one but congratulations to michelinman for becoming the newest Wi/Ht? Regular! :) Unfortunately, due to sorting by sign-up date to determine the one new regular for this month, Hacsev didn't make it this time but I wish the best of luck for the next update.

Well done to you both, welcome aboard michelinman, and good luck Hacsev, hopefully next month will be your time to shine (speaking of which, if I remember right December was when I got on the list - wow does time ever fly).

No-one was taken off the list due to having at least three outvotes but yet another regular has requested to be taken off the list due to lack of activity. LegolaSS wished to leave the Regulars List and like the previous retired regulars who made this request, he is more than welcome to return if he feels he's up to it again sometime in the future.

Pity, but I understand his sentiments completely. And come back YAW, we miss yew :(

Rationality goes out the window when you are confused and scared. Surgery. Let's face it, it's unpleasant at the best of times, as even if all goes well, recovery can (and usually is) rather painful. Just yesterday I had to get a sebaceous cyst removed from my chest, I was under local anesthetic so I was wide awake throughout (and being interested in medicine, I couldn't help taking a peek). However, I've had plenty of experience under the knife, prior to this in July '07 my appendix went from fine to very badly infected in less than 24 hours, although fortunately I acted quickly and got my ass into hospital as fast as I could.

So tell me Newgrounds, have you had surgery before, and what was the overall experience like for you? For those who haven't, would you fear that you might have a bad reaction to anesthetic, or that something else may go awry?

Shitty quality pic related; it's my chest post-op (the blood makes it look worse than it is, it's only a flesh wound).

Your surgical experiences?

Oh, what happened?

I developed a sebaceous cyst on my chest, it wasn't anything problematic but I just got sick of it and decided to get it removed. I was meant to get a lesion on my wrist removed as well but there was a complication with someone else's operation and so there wasn't time. Oh well, I should get it done in January anyway.

I never had surgery before, but if i did i would want to ber out cold. I don't think i would want to watch them cut me open with all of the blood and the fact that it was me and not watching a video of somone else getting it dome.

Well even if you were awake you could just look away or close your eyes, but I'm quite interested in medicine and anatomy, and I have a relatively strong stomach, so I thought if I was going to be awake, why not take a look? I know most people couldn't bear watch themselves being cut up, but I just could not resist.

Idiot-buster did not detect any idiotcy that need to be checked @;-}>

Awesomeness.

Back from the hospital, the surgery went ok (I was only under local anesthetic and couldn't resist watching), and I'm a bit doped up on painkillers at the moment, so excuse any moments of stupidity in this post :P

Been searching for a while and so far I have come up with nothing, logically it would be the user with the lowest User ID number (other than 1 - which is Tom). Results may be surprising as Wade was only #68.

If you go to someones profile and right-click their profile pic, select "View Image, the last bit of the URL will be somenumber.jpg or .gif. That's their ID number, so unless there's a easier way that's the only way I can think of finding them.

Been a while since I've caught a stolen flash, especially since my time is stretched at the moment, but this was seriously the most blatant one I've seen in ages

It even says "Don't steal this from DeviantArt". I mean, come on.

Sorry I haven't posted in a while, uni has reduced me to lurking and little else right now. Portal seems to be ok at the moment, flashes are getting flagged when appropriate, all is well. Also, HOLY SHIT IT'S EAGLEROCK! A slightly underwhelming comeback, but a comeback nonetheless (and a welcome one at that :) ).
