Nevermind, the first video is actually going to be full length, but it will be spoken as if a narrative.

Pretty much this.

Hello everyone, i'm looking for some voice actors for an upcoming set of shorts I'm animating. These shorts are only going to be about 20 seconds to 30 seconds of length, and are relatively simple.

I'm looking for someone with a calm voice, for the voice acting is merely reciting a poem that will be animated.

These animations will be uploaded to youtube as well as newgrounds. There will be multiple poems recited, however if you only want to do one poem, that is okay. These poems are only around 5-6 lines on average.

-bump- it's almost february, we only have one entree so far. and we need 8 to even continue. It looks like at this rate, anyone who enters will get into the contest

Response to: Animwars - Free Entry! Cash Prize!! Posted January 29th, 2010 in Animation

Doing this directly on newgrounds wouldn't be fair, i reach out to multiple animation groups, however the animations WILL be put on newgrounds for hosting, and no where else.

If you want to join, please join the forum, it will be essential to your group work.

Response to: Animwars - Free Entry! Cash Prize!! Posted January 29th, 2010 in Animation

i recommend you all who are interested post on the forum on the OP. The more i see interested, the more likely i'll continue the competition.

Response to: Animwars - Free Entry! Cash Prize!! Posted January 29th, 2010 in Animation

If i get enough entries, i'm considering february 14th

Response to: Animwars - Free Entry! Cash Prize!! Posted January 29th, 2010 in Animation

haha, well your entry is the only thing i can base it off of :)

Response to: Animwars - Free Entry! Cash Prize!! Posted January 28th, 2010 in Animation

Apologies for the double post, if there's such thing as merging i would appreciate if someone could do this.

Starogre i'm surprised you remember my ng name, it really has been too long, when i get a tablet pen i'd be more than happy to do another nightwish collab, with better animation! :D.

Mexifry, you have to get through the first task, which would be if you get chosen to be top 8. :o

Response to: Animwars - Free Entry! Cash Prize!! Posted January 28th, 2010 in Animation

Pbass- that's very true, high seeded players should have more of a chance of winning than others. Perhaps they can only be knocked out through battle only?

The reason the elimination process is so complex is because i can't eliminate one person at a time, doing that will make teams uneven, not good at all..

Response to: Animwars - Free Entry! Cash Prize!! Posted January 28th, 2010 in Animation

Remember, i said teams will be seeded after each even.

In the situation of where a team has 1-2-3-4

and team 2 has 1-2

it will be split into

1-2-4

and team w would be

1-2-3

even teams again :). I think that answered both of your questions.

Response to: Animwars - Free Entry! Cash Prize!! Posted January 28th, 2010 in Animation

Basically, very simple. I'll explain again here for anyone who's having problems.

There's two parts of elimination here.

First part is by winning team vote. The team who wins each event chooses who from the opposing team gets kicked out.

That's one person eliminated.

The second part of elimination is chosen by the winning captain, he will choose one person from his team, and one person from the opposing team to battle. winner of that is eliminated.

That's the second person eliminated, Then teams are separated evenly again.

Animwars - Free Entry! Cash Prize!! Posted January 27th, 2010 in Animation

Read to make some money?!

:D!

Also if you've been here a while, you might remember Flash Wars. A series where a group of animators are put up against another group, to fight until eventually the team is weeded down to two animators, who will fight for the prize of 100 dollars. No strings attached, no entry fee, nothing! (except maybe to help me get some donations , but don't fret, the 100 dollars is guaranteed, donations or not).

The competition works simple. Two teams, four members per team. Both teams make an animation based on a subject selected by me, week one. Winner is decided by judge vote. Winning team is safe and chooses one member from opposing team to get kicked out, and two (one from team 1, one from team 2) who will have then 48 hours to make an animation. Winner is chosen by vote again, and loser is kicked out. Teams are weeded down until it's one on one, in which 100 dollars (or maybe more!) will be awarded. I'm considering a 50 dollar 2nd place prize. But that all depends on funds.

I will start off making a forum dedicated merely to the animation contest, the animations will be hosted via newgrounds for show, and voted amongst three select animators (the three animators will be announced at the time of the competition. All three prestigious in the stick community, and NOT entering the contest.)

Teams will be chosen in tiers, one being best animator, fourth being worst animator. Take in this example

Team 1
1-2-3-4

Team 2
1-2-3-4

Team 1 wins. Team 1 chooses animator two from team 2 to be knocked out, along with animator one from team 2, and animator three from team 1 to fight, animator one wins.

team 1
1-2-4

Team 2
1-3-4

Relatively even match right? This will keep the competition fierce and even throughout the long run!

How do i enter?

You enter by sending an animation file of your most recent work, along with information about yourself. People will be chosen by skill level, the teams WILL be even! No slantedness here :)

Some ground rules.

1. you cannot use an old animation for your animation piece, if i find out, you will be disqualified.

2. your animations must include my paypal link at the end. I will get to all of this when the players have been chosen and the competition is solidified.

3. No matter how good the animation is, if there's any unfinished work, or the animation doesn't relate to the subject. It's considered a loss.

Makes me Wonder
-A Lyrical Collaboration

Before you even read the rest of this post i recommend you go to this link and listen to the song fully and find a spot you might be interested in animating.

As stated, this is a lyrical collaboration, 21 parts are open to be animated, meaning 21 animators are needed. Of course, more than one part can be animated in your name.

Here are Rules and Dimensions

650 x 350
24 Frames Per Second
It would be recommended that you animate a fullbody short, the peices go from five seconds to fifteen seconds.
Stick figures are allowed but only in high quality (in my opinion i can't see how stick figures can be used in a lyrical collaboration).
In some shape or form you have to contact me as well as post on this thread saying if you're interested, i will check this topic regularly.

Response to: Voice Actor Wanted Posted December 18th, 2008 in Audio

I'm starting up some 20 second shorts and i need voice acting for them, they are honestly just for my humor, but if the actors would like to i can post them on newgrounds or any website requested, here are the drawings of the characters

[img]http://triton.imageshack.us/Himg53/
scaled.php?server=53&filename=peopleqw8.
jpg&xsize=578&ysize=480
[/img]

i'm going from description, because i don't have names for the characters just yet

(tall guy who's face can't be seen) - he's a young adult, 21, think of him as a one-upper, snobby kind of guy who always has to be better than you, hates losing. mid pitched voice.

asian kid - very geeky, 17, high pitched voice, considering him a one of the nerdy asian kids you see running to class extra early in high school.

very pale white kid - very melacholy, i would consider a barry white deep voice but uncaring voice all the time, possibly raspy. 19.

black kid - 18, very professional, came from a snobby family, although black, should practically sound like a white man in a black man's body. However in later episodes i would need a very ghetto black person, but it'll be a while from now.

The basis of the animation is the asian kid's mother and father died, so in retatliation to keep the house alive and not have to move with his uncle, he made his house into a gaming facility named baba games, "baba" because of his last name being baba. The later three characters come in as frequent customers who practicaly keep baba games alive.

i really don't need professional acting, just someone to get on board quick. so message me on

i'm not certain, i'm not a voice actor myself, but most people like it when they have examples to hear from you, in order to use you, so just incase i vice you to make a demo. :)

But onto what i needed from all of you helpful VA's

I'm starting off a new series (obviously) and i need voicers (also obvious) either way, a lil bit about the story. on the first episode the main character jay gets people to audition for the new show, i dont have the full script done, but only little by little to see if i can take the job on (and if the actors are reliable enough to work). If the job is a success i will most likely need the voice actors again, so if u want to help, be aware that you may be helping multiple times :/. Anywho on to the script. the file is downloadble with the link under

and for the summary. It's just a test for a series, the whole idea is that a few characters live together in the same house and each day a new topic is sent in my a fan "for example "yo i think for this episode you should do this this and this and see what happens" then they act it out and something goes wrong and they have to settle the problem before the end of the show. on this episode however, the MAIN main character (jay, as is read on the notepad file) is finding people to audition for the show. (and incase you're wondering, if i dont have any fans to send me ideas i'll most likely just make my own fanmail *sucks i know :( *
http://www.savefile.com/files/9252377

information on how each character should sound is in the notepad file so look through that and thanks alot everyone!

P.S. If you would like to see my animations (just incase) search for roflcakes in newgrounds.
