So I've got a short review of this beta for the general Newgrounds users. I'm enjoying it, but there are some definite flaws and things that aren't exactly in my taste.

-Armor Abilities-
We'll start with the most game-changing addition, armor abilities. First off, we have sprinting. Simple as the name suggests, it lets you run a lot faster for a short period of time. It greatly increases the pace of the game, especially in Slayer Classic when it's the only ability, it's like playing a faster paced Halo 3. Second up we have Active Camo, which is just a version of the camo from Halo 3 that allows you to go invisible anywhere, anytime AND scramble radars, including yours. I personally think it lasts way too long and recharges too quickly. Other than being generally annoying because of people camping in corners waiting with the sword. Now we have Armor Lock, which just locks in your shields for around 5 seconds which makes you invulnerable. Adding to this, there's an EMP that goes off that disables enemy shields if they're waiting for you to get out of it. Going into and out of Armor Lock also uses a fair bit of your power so you can't constantly spam it. I personally think it's the best for objective games and completely fair. Finally there's the jetpack. Very very low usage time and sluggish takeoff make this one of the worse abilities to me. It does grant some pretty good mobility across open maps, though. However, once you're in the air, you're pretty fucked when it comes to getting shot. The thing I like about it is that you have to strategically think on when you're going to use it otherwise you'll probably die. Flying across the map is pretty noticeable and easy to get shot down, but if you veer to the left and drop onto a small ledge and fly lower it's a lot easier to get around. That sums up the armor abilities.

-Weapons-
So we have our rockets, assault rifles and needlers, but there's a good amount of new weapons too. My favorite of them is the Needle Rifle. It's the covenant equivalent of the DMR, but it has a lot less bloom and the ability to supercharge like the needler and explode. The DMR of course is the new rifle that has 12 bullet magazine and fires semi auto. It does have an insanely tiny hitbox on the head for spartans, but otherwise it's like the Battle Rifle. On to the Launchers. The human Grenade launcher is a grenade launcher with the ability to hold the trigger for manual detonation. The covie version is the plasma launcher which has lock on and the ability to shoot four plasma grenades at once. I can't remember what the covenant sniper is called, but it's just a laser that takes a couple seconds to kill. Plasma Repeater is a beefed up version of the Plasma rifle and everything else is generally the same, with small tweaks.

-Maps-
There are currently only three maps available, Powerhouse, Swordbase, and Boneyard. Powerhouse is easily my favorite. It has a vast outdoor environment, good weapon placement and generally well made. Sword Base is probably my least favorite because how retarded it was set up, especially for CTF and Stockpile. Plus the Jetpack allows for some serious sniper camping. Boneyard was a gigantic disappointment because they hyped it as the biggest map ever but the big parts never get played because everyone is bum rushing for the power weapons or the next objective. It's structure is amazing though.

That's all for the time being, I might go through the game modes tomorrow or later.

I got a code yesterday and I have to say, the beta is pretty fun. I'm loving the new weapons, except for the plasma launcher because that is redonkulous. I've played Covie slayer, team swat, headhunter, and stockpile. All great gametypes but I can't get into Headhunter because of all the people who camp the drop off points with a shotgun. Covie slayer is great but throwing a nade is useless and you better hope that no one gets a sword or a hammer. Then it's just Roll SMASH Roll SMASH.

I'm pretty excited for the other two maps to unlock on monday along with Arena, Invasion, and hopefully generator defense.

Just got me some early access to Halo Reach.
I'd estimate me finishing the BC2 campaign and then no more gamerscore.

Response to: Naming child after username. Posted May 1st, 2010 in General

I would kill myself if any person ever agreed to name their child my username. It's the worst username in existence and I would hope that no one would think of such a shitty name for a human.

Obviously not, Activision will whore it out for what it's worth before they would even think of selling the name.

There's around 20 or so stragglers left on Halo 2. They're online because they kept their xboxes on while it was going down and it never shut off their connections. Microsoft could kick em off, but haven't yet.

I'm still confused whether or not they're actually still making it.
No, 3D Realms went broke, but im still hoping someone will eventually buy the rights.

Someone would be stupid not to... I mean, the fanbase is so gigantic that any money made would be instantly made back upon release, disregarding the content, but that it's fucking DUKE NUKEM FOREVER. It's much the Call of Duty series. Regardless whether its shit or not, they'll buy it in high hopes.

Response to: Why do people hate MW2? Posted April 17th, 2010 in Video Games

Better than Halo? Maybe. More fun than Halo? Nope.
The reason I hate that game is because of how unbalanced and glitch filled the fucker is. I've said it a lot in the MW2 thread and it still gets asked. The game is terribly unbalanced, and they always nerf or power up the wrong guns. All the assault rifles are completely perfect, have no recoil, no sway, and all kill in the same number of shots. The SMGs are generally useless except for the runner people, who are also another huge problem. LMGs are even less used than they were in Call of Duty 4. Snipers are fine, except that no one should ever be able to hip fire a Barret .50 cal without their arm being broken.

The glitches never stop coming because IW was too retarded to hold a public beta, and it will continue to be shit because they won't be able to fix everything.

Who agrees? lol

I've been saying that through the thread. Mainly because IW tried too hard to balance the game when all it did was make it terribly unbalanced.

Response to: Official Halo: Reach Thread Posted April 17th, 2010 in Video Games

Put aside some money, and i'm ready for the beta in roughly 2 weeks.
I can imagine reach is going to destory MW2, or at least hold the lead. And then after that, hold the top 10 games played for another 3 years and two more CoD games.
