That's pretty much what I was looking at. How is it?
Really fun.
Just to clarify - Electroacoustics isn't about recording studio work. It's about creating NEW sounds from recorded stuff, or out of thin air with synthesizers. You have access to all sorts of sound creation tools, like modular synths and old tape machines. I'm majoring in EA to become a sound effect designer. :)
The overall course load is mostly project-based, so you don't have to worry about completing a chapter of problems every night. My final "exam" consisted of an in-class test and some projects that we had all year to work on. The courses are named things like "Ear Training 1" and "Edison To iPod" (that's the history of sound technology).
The profs are awesome, too. Here's a video about Kevin Austin, one of the senior EA profs - he teaches the third/fourth year students. You'll be spending most of your classes in the classroom shown in the middle of the vid.
The bald guy in the classroom is Eldad, and he's the best EA prof I had all year. TEH BESTZOR.
If you're into sound tech, I highly recommend it.
