SR2 Engine Tests Posted December 15th, 2007 in Game Development

I was making Sant's Rampage 2 engine, when I tested it on browser, it just seems to be slower already. Would that be because browsers cut the framerate down to 30 (the game is set to 45)?
Anyway, here's the engine sofar:

I didn't even add parallax n stuff and it just doesn't seem so smooth on browsers >:[

Okay, you won't pay people for this... but if you guys find a sponsor, the coder gets his part, right?

Response to: Having two MC as cursors? Posted December 14th, 2007 in Game Development

for a smoooooth movement, I do like:

Mouse.hide();
_root.onMouseMove = function() {
	_root.mycursor._x = _root._xmouse;
	_root.mycursor._y = _root._ymouse;
	updateAfterEvent();
};

This way, even with a low framerate things still look good :)

This tilebased engine is looking good sofar, btw are you managing to fix the emitter point of the bullets (then they come out from the weapon, not the guy's arm)?

Response to: LoadVariables Posted December 13th, 2007 in Game Development

And don't tell me to just get a Wacom. I've got a Trust tablet and it works fine, the pen is broke. I don;t need a fucking Wacom and I can't afford one, thanks.

Don't ever buy a Genius tablet, I have one and it sucks, the pen point keep going like u had parkinsons

Response to: AS to pause game Posted November 3rd, 2007 in Game Development

I just use:

this.onEnterFrame = function(){
     if(!gamePaused){
          //regularstuffhere
     }
}

The "gamePaused var also controls independent movieClips

It's in the game, if you mean "where is the API?": login to your AB account >> Rankz >> Teamplates >> Flash TOP10

Response to: Armor Bot Contest #1!!! Posted October 30th, 2007 in Game Development

The prize is small because:
This is not sponsorship, just an incentive to use the highscores system :)
This is the first contest related to Armor Bot (not Armor Games), we are doing an experiment, if it works, there will be other contests with bigger prizes.
