Crap guys, I'm a much safer driver if i'm high. Slower, more careful. Don't exactly want to be stopped by a pig.

And come on people, just ignore these dipsticks spouting off. They're just trying to start an arguement. Why is religion being discussed at all??

three out of the first four presidents grew hemp.
whoever said the stuff about Virgina's main product and Elizabeth 1st before, thanks! I need to research some more, it's always surprising how many famous people grew / how widespread it was a few hundred years ago. I've been brainwashed.

But thats where your wrong. The CIA own a vast majority of the media, and frankly you dont know shit about what this government does other than that shit they want you to see.

hmm.. CIA owning most of the media. Hey, I'm a liberal, socialist motherf'er (uh, i gotta look up the swearing policy fer this BBS), but that seems a bit too paranoid even for me.

Of course all of the national, large news syndicates are basically fed their news by the gov't; publicise this, push this back, but.. cia?

Response to: War on terror...we win? Posted October 31st, 2003 in Politics

hand Iraq over to the UN. the US would still be the major power there, and still be financing the brunt of it, but the ultimate power would be with the UN (like a lot of the UN actions). As far as I see it, this is the only way to make sure the United Nations keeps any power / authority as an international body.

I find it strange that the Bush administration cites what UN resolutions/etc. Iraq has (had) crossed, but then we blindly go against the UN, invading another country with no justification (I don't want to start an argument, let's just agree Iraq was not going to attack us anytime soon. That's pretty apparent). How many international laws have we ignored with an unprovoked attack?

The UN has been pussy-footing around us (US) for too long, and their authority is suffering...

Response to: Telling my mom and dad i smoke weed Posted October 30th, 2003 in General

I remember the one conversation I had with my parents RE: pot. Basically my mother said that if I was ever interested in trying it, to just ask, and they'd let me smoke with them.

of course, I'd been pinching from their stash for years by that point.

But it'd just be weird smoking with your parents, you know? I didn't accept the offer :P

What makes you a good person? Oh, I bet you think in your mind that because you don't like Bush you are better, when in reality you aren't. You even have Gingrich's picture in your sig. That makes no sense. *smell hint of hypocracy"

ahaha, thanks. I needed that. I never said I was a good person, I never said i was better than you. Hmm, I never said I didn't like bush (Awhile ago I said he was a worse president than Clinton). I never said anything about gingrich. Now your just jumping to conclusions. so hostile..

All I said was that your argument was very well positioned, and it changed my mind on the whole issue.

Response to: International Day Against The Wall Posted October 29th, 2003 in Politics

Alright, maybe I have my history mixed up. But my point is, the fighting just won't go away in two or three years. It might never stop at all, despite the efforts of the entire world.

If we (the U.S.) got our asses in gear and concentrated on the problem, progress could be made. But instead we're concentrating on other, imagined problems.....

Response to: International Day Against The Wall Posted October 29th, 2003 in Politics

this wall is insane. There's no way to justify it. It covers off Palestinians from Palestinians and from their jobs. It's a huge wall that is quite unclimbable for most people, & it includes f'ing guard towers. I just got back from a symposium (sp) with two college professors, an Israeli and a Palestanian. Numerous cities are actually completely enclosed by this wall. This wall will completely impede any peace talks. Walls do not solve deep social / political schisms!

Response to: Are you Pro-Life or Pro-Choice? Posted October 29th, 2003 in Politics

pro-choice.
I'm not going to try and justify this, as any debate on abortion is pretty pointless, since everyone is thoroughly situated on one side or another.

What I don't understand is why so many conservatives are pro-life, but then refuse to support sex-ed in schools and contraceptives! wtf??

Randall Terry just spoke at my school. Being a liberal college, there was quite a turnout, and it was insane. My blood pressure rose quite a bit.

Contrary to the views put out by fundamentalist christians and the right, abortions are not fun, it's an incredibly hard decision to arrive at.

we need better sex-ed and better access to contraceptives! (in france birth control is handed out in schools!) The adoption system needs to be thoroughly reformed also, IMHO, with my limited knowledge. There are plenty of qualified couples out there who wish to adopt, but the amount of kids who stay in the system until their 18th is outrageous.

I didn't even both flipping through the three pages of debate, I just answered the original question.

Hey, maybe the solution is that we should all get along, YEAH, that the ticket. We should negotiate with people like saddam, hitler, idi amin, general tojo, Kim jong il, stalin, lenin, the confederates, Osama, etc... etc... they all are reasonable and logical men that would probably be willing to negotiate.

what was wrong with lenin? :P

Yeah man, Chong is in jail now i guess, although I haven't heard much about it since the article I read. It's because of his 'Chong Bong' company. As the war in iraq continues, ashcroft has been cracking down on bong makers and distributors now too! It is actually illegal now to make and sell bongs, but since theres so many being produced and sold, the government is only hitting places here and there. There was a big article in rolling stone acouple months ago about it. People making the bongs are resorting to glass dildos now. it's a really sad situation.

(I know, I know, i used the insert pic. thing in those two posts, sorry.)

Sharpton has said, basically my understanding is, that one main reason for his running is to raise interest and get people who are disenfranchised back to the polls. He's said he'll still strongly support who ever who gets the nomination.

When I first heard he was running, I didn't expect much. But, without looking too closely at them, a lot of his plans make sense, at least on paper.

Myself, I'm fully behind Kucinich and his platform. He's been against the war in Iraq the entire time, he supports a single-payer healthcare system, wants to decrease the pentagon's budget (including scrapping the asinine missile defense system), a cabinet level Department of Peace, etc. etc.

Plus he's a vegan! haha. I was a registered Green, until I re-registered to vote in this primary.

But Carol Moseley Braun and Al Sharpton also have very good views and platforms.

Why is it my top 3 choices are at the bottom of all the polls? nevermind..
