This club has experienced some slowdown, and a setback or two, but it is NOT falling apart. Alkador was the only person kicked out, and Recon did what he did by his own free will. Was he fair in his actions? I personally think not. However, what's done is done and we just have to move on. SCD, we don't desire for anyone else to leave. CHEESE simply took offense because it seemed to him that you were turning your back on us. Also, I personally wouldn't go over to the other club if I were any of you, I don't like the environment very much. It seems to all be straight roleplaying, and disorganized at that.

Now, all that aside, Merry Christmas again, everyone. God I can't wait to get that computer...

Ah, yes. Pure and myself, along with a couple other buddies played it to it's full 4 player potential. Loads of fun, but I recommend you don't play with a dumbass who plays as Gambit and spends his whole time punching explosive barrels, or throwing them at the rest of his team.

All great suggestions so far. I'll add that if you like good hack n slash RPGs, you should check out Champions Of Norrath.

Earthbound.

Yup, sounds exactly like Fallout.

Indeed it does.

As for that question, I believe they are used as comic relief. Dwarves are meant to be stern, serious and basically grumpy all the time. Hollywood, however, sees that as a great opportunity for comic relief.

I sure do hope we pull through.

Oh we will. As soon as I get my new computer, which may be as early as sunday (:-D), I'll start hammering installments out for my game again. That ought to increase activity at least a little bit.

I try to avoid getting into arguements around here, but this just pisses me off. That whole 'easy way out' arguement is so flawed. Is it not human nature to take the easy way out? When it's -40 outside, do you take a bus to school, or walk? If you have to go up 15 floors, do you take the elevator or the stairs? If you take the bus, or the elevator (and I know you do), I guess you're just a huge fucking loser.

The idea that someone commiting suicide is a pussy is very flawed, also. These people are deeply troubled by the world and it's inhabitants. Have you ever thought maybe it's people like you who make them view this world in such a shitty way? Has it ever occured to you that perhaps they take their own life for fear of one day not being able to resist shooting your ignorant face off. If anything, taking the bullet yourself seems more courageous than shooting someone else (no matter how much they may, indeed, deserve it). So, next time someone talks about shooting themselves, why don't you tell them they're a pussy? Perhaps they'll realize your life isn't worth protecting for their own and put a bullet through your head instead.

Or, perhaps you are insecure about your own courage, because you know you could never put a gun to your head and pull the trigger. You'd much rather find a way to bitch about those who can.

Yeah, the way I had set the game up the actions of all of you were affecting the plot at the same time, but when one of you is gone it kind of throws it off balance. Not a big deal though, can't do anything about it right now anyway.

On another note of my own, I might be getting a new computer! Finally! After all these years of bitching and complaining about the shitiness of my current computer, I might actually get a decent one. Finally, me and Pure will be able to play games like WC3 and NWN.

I suppose I'm not going to bother asking for MIA though, because I believe I'm capable of throwing a few posts in here unless other problems arise.

If you don't think it's necessarry, we'll hold off on the MIA status.

A few notes: CHEESEGOD would have dropped to rare, and Jack and I would have been promoted over him. However, because this was the week we decided to count private forum posts, they would combine to well over 10 posts, and thus I felt he should keep his position and rank. FIGMENTUM also kept his rank, because his combined posts were at least 5. Sivak's combined posts topped 10, so he goes up a rank. Lastly, Diet_V_Coke_Clock's MIA has been removed due to abuse.

Hmm...a club that spends more time deciding who to vote out and such doesn't really sound like much a club to me...don't you agree?

We spend next to no time deciding to vote people out. You are the only case in which something like that has happened. That's got to tell you something, don't you think?

I've had it with the bullshit you guys are pulling in the RPG club.

And what, pray tell, would that 'bullshit' be?

Me doesn't want to risk anything. I suppose I could get my game up and going in here as well.

If either of you are trying make us jealous, you are failing miserably.

This topic manages to make me laugh and yet want to vomit at the same time. I remember a short while ago when Recon supposedly hated Alkador because of some ridiculous NG Army thing, and now he's going off on a rant because Alkador was booted for reasons he doesn't even bother to ask about. If there's anything I am sick of, it's this god damn junior high school "best friends one day, enemies the next" attitude a startlingly large number of you have.

Alkador's position in the club was questioned many times, and many times he had additional chances. The last time called for the result you see now, and that's just how it is. Things didn't work out, get the fuck over it. All this juvenile whining about not getting your way (a way some of you had very different feelings about a short time ago) will not accomplish anything. Grow up, guys. That's all I can say. For christ's sake, grow up.

Response to: RPG club Posted December 19th, 2004 in Clubs & Crews

Bad news, guys. My computer got fucked again. I am going on record as saying I hate Microsoft. I had Windows XP installed about a month ago, and kept getting this message in the toolbar saying I had x number of days remaining to activate it. I tried using the product key I used to install it, but it kept saying it was invalid. Eventually, the timer ran out and I couldn't get back on my computer without activating XP. They don't give you an option to simply uninstall it, no, that would be too convenient. Instead they want you to either spend more money on another copy of XP, or do a system restore and lose all your shit. So, I went with option 2.

Now my computer is running on Windows 95 again, and I managed to get internet working. However, I can't get on MSN, open my emails, or go to the private forums without getting an error for this ancient version of IE and having it close. I can't do any of those until I can come up with a product key for Windows 98 (I have the disk, but no key). So, I may have to ask someone else to do the Member's List, unless you don't mind me not including posts made on those forums, as I can't get there to count them. Surprisingly, I can get to NG fine, so I'll wait around here for some replies.

Good to hear.

What's your favorite company for making RPGs?

Bethesda is right up there. As are Bioware and Black Isle Studios.

What's the first RPG you've ever played?

Damn, not too sure I remember correctly. I think it was Final Fantasy 2 for SNES. Good game, though I played FF3 soon afterward, and enjoyed it even more.

What's the wierdest RPG you've ever seen?

I remember I thought Earthbound was quite strange the first time I played it. It had a very unique style to it, I'm sure some of you can back me up on this one. Excellent game, though.

A crossover with which genre would you like to see in a RPG?

Well, I do enjoy RPGs with action or adventure elements. If they could make an action RPG with more than just a clickfest for gameplay, and all the depth and character development of any single player RPG, I would achieve nirvana.

The council decided it was best to let Alkador go. You may say what you want, but any conflict that has gone on in this club at that scale has only been between alkador and someone else (outside of TheGrayFox having his fun with people). This is not the first time this issue has come up. The last time it did, the council decided to give him one more chance. Things didn't work out, and this is what it has come to. I'm sorry if this upsets some of you, but you don't realize how difficult it is to be in this position and having to make these decisions.
