I've seen that strategy talked about before.

Yeah, it is. But doesn't it seem like if you keep the main characters level down, the monsters remain weak, yet you still get all the exp, ap, jp, etc... I know it's like that in FFT.

Once you get the card command for Quezacotl, you can card most enemies keeping the experience gain to a minimum.

Shouldn't they be posting them in Myst_Williams' Writer's Guild?? If that was the case then it should be growing a lot faster than it is wouldn't you say? I'm not wasting anymore time trying to talk some sense into you. I'll admit I have a bit of an attitude on the BBS but you're just plain vindictive. Have a nice life kid.

I'm not going to argue with you Recon, that isn't my intention. As I've said before, I really don't care too much about the existence of the society or what you do there. However, I think there is a difference between the case here and the example you gave. 'Writer's Guild' is such a generic term, that technically anyone who posted anything in any written form would have to post it there by your logic. The thing is, that guild is made around the sole purpose of writing (stories, poems, whatever the case may be), while this club is not. The RPG Society, however, is based on RPGs, while this club is also (all encompassing, anything that is role-playing). That's where the problem arises.

I dropped the whole Society thing long ago. I didn't care about it much then, and I care about it less now. I honestly think it's just ridiculous that this whole thing has gone on this long. I was simply trying to elaborate on CHEESEGOD's point. The clubs really are the same. That being said, I just want to enjoy and discuss RPGs. I've had good conversation in the Final Fantasy Club and elsewhere recently, and I think it's just not worth it to get tied up about things like this. As far as I'm concerned, you guys do your thing, we'll do our's. You'll have no hostility from me. I don't speak for everyone, nor am I trying to, but I do speak for myself. That being sad, I would still appreciate an equal effort from those at the society to avoid conflict. I made a post on Alkador's forums today concerning that.

I didn't intend on a post like that, now you probably just won't want to read it :-P. I just wanted to explain where CHEESEGOD was coming from. I hope you understand I am trying to do so without giving rise to any conflict myself. Now, let us all carry on as we usually do. Have a nice day.

After feeling refreshed, and content with his washing, Goethe climbs out of the pool, slips on his clothes, and finds a nice high tree to settle in. 'No Orc will outclimb a Wood Elf', he chuckles to himself.

No worries, internet can be a bitch sometimes. Believe me, I know -.-.

Indeed it is. There are other series that are great too. Mega Man, Metroid, the Mario series. FF just stands out too much to not give it the credit and respect it deserves.

Metroid and Mario I grew up on, as well. I played some Mega Man, but only those on Gameboy or SNES.

lol Yeah. Well, it does help re-kindle that fire inside of us to make us go play it again, for the pure fact that they are awsome.

For sure. These games are meant to be enjoyed over and over, and they deserve to be.

As far as I know, no they haven't. I don't think they ever will. 7 is the only one that I know of that is for the PC, but I'd rather play them on the PS1 or PS2

8 as well, that's how I'm playing it. I don't own either PS, so that is my only means of playing them.

Indeed. The most diverse FF I've played would have to be 9 or 10. 11 I've heard is really diverse, so many classes of characters you can choose from, but I've never played it.

You bastard, you make me want to play them and I can't (lol). I can only hope to own a system they release future games on, and have them be just as much (if not more) diverse.

Yes, the materia is cool, and so if the junctioning. But I'd have to say that the sphere grid is one of the most uniqe and the best [oh, how would you say this?] system to play on and level up your characters. Basically, you white mage can be a black mage, vice versa. Basically, all the characters share the same exact grid and can become anything they want to, they just start out in different places.

Pretty cool. Once again, you bastard ;-).

He is. He probably knows the most about the FF series as a whole. And 8 is his favorite I do belive.

My memory serves me well.

I've heard many good things about it. I've debated on what to get, and I know I'm gonna save my money till it comes out.

Ditto.

Last I heard is that they are coming out late next year. But you should atleast buy a used PS2, it's so worth it.

Microsoft has hinted that their next console will be out by the end of this year. I don't know where the others stand in comparison to that, but companies usually try to release consoles as close to eachother as is possible. They are competition, after all.

I'll have to think the PS2 thing over, it would be a shame to miss out on the newer FF games, whether I end up liking them or not.

From what I've saddly heard, yes. They are to license the next few FFX on the X-Box2 or squared, whatever it shall be called. I don't know why Square-Enix made the deal, seems really foolish if you ask me. But it could work out for them because PS players would have to buy the new X-Box, brining in money for Microsoft, and buying the FF games for the X-box[whatever] and Square-Enix getting money, but not as much. So it's mainly only going to truely work out for Microsoft seeing how this will probably loose money for Square-Enix.

It may not make financial sense right away, but Microsoft is a huge and very powerful corporation. It could be a smart investment, in the end.

Well, if Revolution doesn't make it, you might be kissing the NES series goodby. I haven't played TOS, but I've heard it's a damn good game.

It is great. Best thing about it has got to be the battle system. Get 3 buddies together with you and it's a blast. I hope more future RPGs adopt that kind of system.

Indeed, it is undeniably one of the greatest series of this generation.

HA! We go through this atleast once every 2-3 months.

I somewhat expected that.

Well, I do enjoy Tactics, but 9 has replaced my love for it. I just love the music, the storyline is great. The charaters are so uniqe in every way. The monsters are awsome to fight, and the side quests rock my socks. Not to mention Kuja is one of the coolest villians ever. And so many more reasons why it kicks ass. :)

Interesting. I have grown interested in both 9 and 10, but they were never released for PC, were they?

Indeed. I can stand FPS, but to a point. Puzzle games get boring fast, and, well... It's just that RPGs are the only ones that I really need. lol

Yeah, what I meant was what I look for in a Final Fantasy game. What appeals to me most is gameplay features, and character advancement and customization. Materia in 7 was cool, and Junctioning GFs in 8 is interesting, but which game has the most innovative or original system? I don't mind if it's complicated, as long as it pays off.

I've only played 7,8,9,10,10-2, and Tactics. Recon here has got alot of them down packt. But you'll find we are all freindly folk here.

Yes, I know Recon is quite the FF guru. Last I heard, I think his favorite was 8, one of the reasons I wanted to try it. But he may have to correct me on that.

With this newly rekindled passion for FF, I've started following 12 quite closely. Unfortunately, I don't own a PS2, and I doubt I'll buy one while the next generation consoles are not far away. That brings me to a whole new thing altogether. With 3 (give or take) new consoles coming out in a little wihle, how does a man choose which to get? I might consider a PS3 if it means more FF games, but I recently heard that the creators of FF have signed a contract to produce RPGs for Microsoft. Yet I like the direction Nintendo has taken with newer games like TOS. So many things to consider...

Greetings and salutations, Final Fantasy Club. I recently acquired FF8, and I have been rediscovering the magic that is Final Fantasy. I realize there are some regulars in here who seem to know most FF games inside and out. So, I'd like to know... Which Final Fantasy game is your favorite, and why? I know that is a tall order, but as FF junkies I'm sure you derive great joy from simply preaching about your preferred game.

For myself, I like a game with solid story, well developed characters, a mood that just grasps you, and above all else, lots and lots of content and intuitive gameplay. However, I'm not the weathered FF veteran most of you are, and I've only played 2, 3, 7 (a somewhat small amount), and now 8 (though I've just started). Therefore, I am most interested in your opinions. Don't be shy, preach away.
