I find it just shameful that a user can have over 4,600 posts on this site and still be unknown to so many.

Yeah, well an occasion like this is enough for me to voluntarily blow my cover. Guess it's time to resume stealth mode... ::Sneaks back into the bushes 10 feet away::.

Well, I've already extended my congratulations in 2 different places, but one more won't hurt. Congratulations, FIG. You are most deserving of modship. I remember when FIG first started posting on this BBS, back in the old school days of Wi/Ht? I would consider this milestone to be an example of how good honest work (in this case posting) can be rewarded. FIG has always been a stand up guy with a good sense of humor and the ability to make me laugh. It's good to see him be rewarded with something he definitely deserves. Congrats again, FIG. You will be a great addition.

Haha, that'd be a pretty simple solution, huh? But no, after the battles would end, I'd get a bunch of 'insult to injury' messages where all the party members would say something about why they were leaving and then leave. Pretty strange. Hasn't happened again though, thankfully.

Well, I just started over and it hasn't happened again since. At the time, I had just finished the third part, and would always be left with just myself, Delita, and Algus after every fight.

On that same note, I can't seem to fight the boss in the Desert Palace in FF9. When I go to light the last candle up the stairs, no field icon appears and I can't light it. I read in an FAQ that your party members should all be above 30, though one of mine is at 27 or so. I doubt that would be a requirement to fight the boss, but I don't know why else it wouldn't be working.

Response to: Final Fantasy Club Posted March 26th, 2005 in Clubs & Crews

Okay, I have quite a dilemma here. After every battle I've fought in FFT, all my party members have left me. I thought this was supposed to happen at first, but after it has happened the third time leaving me with no party members and 150 in funds, I'm beginning to suspect something is wrong. How do I prevent this?

Awsome. I'm asuming you're about to go inside of it. :) And I haven't got that many wins, maybe 11-3-28 lol. And yeah, sucks for Vivi havnign to marry Quina. He/she really creeps me out at times. :: shivers ::

Update... I'm now clocked at about 19 and a half hours, and I'm in Alexandria Castle trying to get to Garnet as Zidane in Disk 3. I just beat that strange book dude in the Library. Once again, I just love the FMVs in this game. Those scenes of Bahamut and Alexander were awesome. I like the humor, too. Like the whole love letter thing. Innocent and simple, but funny nonetheless.

Each new Final Fantasy always brings new gameplay mechanics, new characters, new stories, new sidequests, new mini-games, etc to the table. It hasn't changed in the fact that it's always been an RPG, I suppose.

Cool. Though I've had quite a few near death expiriences I've never been hit by a car. Not that I'd like something like that to happen soon.

Cool, indeed. I've now been in a vehicle during a crash, and the crash itself :-D.

Haha. No, I didn't see anything flash. However, it did seem to happen in slow motion, even though the car was going pretty fast. Good thing, too. It allowed me enough time to react by jumping before I was hit. That way I just went through the windshield, got a little cut up, some bad ass bruising around my ribs, and my one leg got real nice and beat up on the bumper, before I rolled onto the pavement and scraped my hands and knees a bit. Had I not jumped, it could have been much worse, broken legs at the least. The guy seemed pretty concerned when he got out to check on me, so I didn't bother taking note of his license plate number or anything like that.

People were offering to call an ambulance, but I didn't want to go to the hospital. I just crawled my way on to a bus and headed home. Sitting on the bus I couldn't help but laugh a bit, thinking to myself, 'Wow, I just got hit by a car, got up, dusted myself off and crawled on to a bus like nothing happened'. I'm in a lot of pain, but I was back at school today, though with a slight limp and very limited moveability (Taekwondo will have to wait another day or two, though).

I've played LOTR: The Third Age, but not FFX. However, I have read plenty of reviews for both. I suppose ultimately it would be a personal preference thing, but I'd have to say that FFX is the better game. The Third Age isn't a bad game, actually it's decent game for what it's worth. Problem is, it's quite linear and somewhat of a cookie cutter RPG, whereas FF is a series known for innovation, and from what I hear FFX is no different.

Yes, Tactics Ogre seems to be the forefather of that type of gameplay. However, the game I was referring to was for the Sega Genesis (yes, we're talking a long time ago).

They also have a ability called 'speed save' which shortens the charge time, thus meaning you won't have to wait as many turns for your shot to charge. Their 'arrow guard' is good against other archers and arial attacs.[bow and crossbow] There are some other good ones too, but I'm forgetting them at the time. :/

Nice. I've already had a couple archers hit some of my guys with that charge attack. I'd be interested in hearing what your favorite class from the game is.

lol You are an officiall seasoned vetran of the games. :D And yes, the star of Tactics is the job system. I posted a picture a few paged back about how to get each job class, here it is again. I'll answer any questions you have about each class if you need me too. :)

Excellent. I just fought my first battle in Tactics and it takes me back to a game with a similar battle system, but I can't recall the name of it. Anyhow, I find those types of battles to be quite epic and very rewarding.

As for the classes, I'm always all about the archers in all games. What can I expect from archery in this game?

Response to: Final Fantasy Club Posted March 23rd, 2005 in Clubs & Crews

Well, I'm now at Lindblum for the second time, just finished watching an awesome FMV of the queen attacking the city, and I'm clocked at just under 12 hours of play time. I must be suffering from a Final Fantasy addiction as of late. I've got 7 lined up after I'm done this one and 8, and I've also been reading up on Tactics recently, as well. I like what I've read, particularly the job system, so I may work on acquiring that one, to top it all off.

You get collectors points for a number of things. My suggestion is you seach for some in-depth FAQ's on the game.

Man, I read up on it and much of it is just confusing. I've got the gist of it, though. I've spent a little time playing some people in Lindblum, and so far I'm sitting at 8-1-0. I suspect it will get harder as I encounter people with more powerful cards.

Ugh, yes. Typos are evil. Although, Vivi's constantly hooded face is pretty sexy :-P.

Let me know how you do in Tetra Master. One thing I enjoyed about this new card game was the way the cards became more powerful if you continued to use them. I was screwing around on FF9 last night and just made my 1,550th point which promoted me to the rank of King. There's still 5 or 6 ranks ahead of me ** groan **

You just got me pretty interested. I was reluctant to play the card game in FF8, but the more I played and understood it, the more I enjoyed it. Now I have about 4 player cards, and around 5 GF cards.

Now you tell me the cards advance as you use them in FF9. I like the sounds of that, not to mention the titles you can earn. I believe this game may have me hooked.

I'm working on acquiring FF9, and when I'm done with those 3, I may even go back and play FF7. With all this going on, I think I'd like to consider myself a regular here.
