Goethe speaks to the elves in a relaxed tone. 'Brothers, I look after this forest. Me and my two companions are helping these merchants through. They were attacked by Orcs a few days ago. We mean no harm to you, if you mean no harm to the merchants or this forest'.

No, I'm saying it has become a problem, because many people disagree with it. Anyway, don't focus too much on my wording there. Perhaps 'debate' or 'controversy' would have been better words. The real 'problem' I was referring to is that this has turned into such a big mess.

Clearly this latest election is proof that some of the older members aren't exactly in the 'know' when it comes to membership eligibility. Still, I would like to see them remain honoured on the list. Therefore, I propose we keep them on the list, but remove voting rights from those deemed unable to vote fittingly. The problem with this, however, is how to judge who is fit and who is not. This will also obviously cause tention and hostility between members. Still, it seems the most fitting solution at this point.

Well, at least BonusStage and I aren't alone anymore. Maybe RedCircle is right, and there is a problem with the way things are currently working. Or perhaps this is an isolated incident, as I can never remember this much objection in any previous election. I wish I knew who voted for you, it would make it easier to see where this problem came from. Did inactive members get the email, then browse the LUL, see a bunch of Alkador posts and decide to vote for him? That seems unlikely, but something does seem to have gone wrong here.

I think I gave the wrong impressioin. I'm really much more laid back than this thing has led some of you to think. As I said, I was only stating an opinion. If BonusStage hadn't posted his, I probably wouldn't have bothered. But he did, and I wanted him to know that I, for one, could see where he was coming from. I knew people would probably single him out and I didn't want that to happen, because I felt he had a good point. That's it. I was not hoping to have the decision changed, I was just agreeing with how Bonus said it was odd that Alkador was voted in. Recon seemed to take it much more seriously than I did. As you'll notice, I didn't attack Alkador or anyone else in my post, I simply said what I had observed.

It really is a shame I have to keep repeating this... There were several times that Alkador's position in the RPG Club was in jeopardy, and I kept sticking up for him. Finally, Alkador was given a last chance and it didn't work out. I wasn't going to go back on my word, so I had to vote him out. And as a matter of fact, Alkador did IM me after that happened and told me there were no hard feelings between us, and he understood that I did what I had to do.

I may not have voted in the last couple elections, but people have made good decisions and I've been pleased with the results in said elections. I actually did intend to vote in this election, but I got the email two days after it was sent and by that time the election was already over. Now, this is the first time I have felt that the outcome was not the best decision, and I do believe I have the right to voice that opinion.

I have to agree. Alkador regularly posted a little story to entertain the other members and that's just fine, but I don't recall a simple story being part of the criteria for becoming a Wi/Ht member. He seems to have bought his way in with favoritism. But honestly, anyone who didn't see it while it was happening had to be blind.

Of course, your characters won't know eachother or their whereabouts ahead of time, unless you specify so at character creation.

Thanks for taking care of Steel, guys. As other people mentioned, your race and class determine your height, weight, and stats. I will post those when I get to them.

As for the skills, choose 5 primary and 5 secondary from the skill list. Your specialization (in your case, combat), will boost combat related skills. And yes, you may only pick two favorite attributes.

Finally, I just downloaded a save file that was just after my location and used it to replace my file. Hopefully I don't encounter any more glitches like this.

Okay guys, I have another glitchy problem. This time in FF7.

Final Fantasy 7 Spoilers

I'm at the part where Cloud has a flashback to being in soldier with Sephiroth. After talking in the truck, they get into a battle with a dragon. The problem is, the dragon keeps killing Cloud, Sephiroth keeps reviving him, but nothing is ever done to the dragon. Whenever Sephiroth attacks, it looks more like he is attacking himself, and misses. Whenever Cloud attacks, it's the same deal, he can only target himself and misses. I've tried waiting it out, but this cycle just goes on forever. Any ideas?

Goethe looks in horror at the wound on Korhen's head. He looks eagerly at Jorgen, praying he will heal their companion as soon as can be done. Unable to look at the wound any longer, Goethe goes over to check on the merchants. He takes note of which direction the orcs were running to, and consults his memory of the forest to figure out where they might have been going.

They were trained to kill stray animals for the suppression of diseases spread by them feasting on corpses and living in their shit.

I strongly encourage you to read the whole thread. Thank you.

So you are now officially going off what one person speculated in this thread, as opposed to what was written directly under the clip on the site. In case you missed it, I'll reference it now:

"Hi my name is M. D. formaly of A TRP 1-10 CAV 4ID and while in Iraq we had a sport of killing dogs whenever the Iraqis werent shooting us. So when I shot this one at about 50 yards with my M4 and it ran yelping to lower ground, we had to finish it so my friends and I went to it and started shooting it. I ve never seen a dog take as many shots to the head at least 4 as this one did and then after we thought it was dead we dug a hole and when I picked it up with the shovel it came back to life, so we shot it a couple more times....its pretty funny."

If their reason for shooting the dog was to prevent the spread of disease, surely one of them could have handled it. There were several of them there, so obviously they wanted to be a part of it because they found it fun. That was what disgusted me in the first place, and that is the exact same conclusion I have reached after reading the entire thread. That was a very large waste of time. Thank you.

No, you are just an idiot. Caring about the life of a creature just because it is a life is being a pussy? You are missing the point. Family to miss it or not (and for all you know it could have had puppies that would be directly affected), it is a creature that did nothing to harm these people in any way, yet they had no problem killing it. That is just disgusting. It is a very poor representation of their character to be able to do that. That is the concern here. The fact that poor excuses for human beings such as these are allowed to be in their position of authority is just scary. I can honestly say I wouldn't miss them if their sorry asses got shot. Guess it's okay then, right?

At 3/18/05 02:49 PM, BrickMurus wrote: Secondly, it is a video of a few soldiers shooting what appears to be an already injured dog. Now, we do not know the exact circumstances of this shooting. It is likely that they were just having some 'fun'. The taping of the incident would indicate that the purpose of it was for fun. I would personally like it if they were putting the dog out of its misery, or it was diseased somehow, but that is most likely not the case.

Even if they were putting it out of it's misery, it is something no respectable human being would consider fun. As I said, the issue here is the character of these soldiers, being able to shoot a completely innocent and defenseless creature, and find it 'fun'. I'm going to just go out on a limb here and say I hate the fucking military. They rob people of emotion and free thought, and create robots. The more emotionless robots you have, the more people can kill without remorse. The more people who can do so, the more violence and wars you have. It's just a viscious cycle.

How about a better form of stress relief? I have always strongly hated school. High school stresses the shit out of me. If I were to punch, (let alone shoot) whomever I pleased as a coping strategy for this stress, it wouldn't be long before I would see prison bars. But it would be ok for the police (the upholders of peace, model citizens, 'to serve and protect') to go around town shooting a dog or two to deal with their stress, right?

This couple of soldiers were probably undertrained jerks, that's pretty much all we get from this tape.

VERY poorly trained jerks. That is a lot to get out of this tape. It's not a good thing when the strongest militar force on the planet is giving very poor training.
