This is the third video preview running in conjunction with my development blog of The Presence.
In the previous video, I showed you all the shooting mechanics and skills. In this video, I detail my creative process and how I plan to create this interactive world.
I then end the video by giving you a preview of the ocean level. Check out how I discover the solution to a bug mid-recording!

Hey everyone, I'm trying to source anyone who likes to play oldschool platform games.
I've posted on my profile about the setting and concept for a new project I'm developing,
here is a video presentation of some of the weapons and skills you will encounter throughout the adventure.

An artist has currently hopped onboard the project so expect the visuals to improve in the coming months.
Sorry this wasn't meant for here. Admins can remove.
Here is the first ever development videeeooooo.
Tada!

There are a few glitches, like the background walls being white ect. But that's no drama, I just have a lot to do
and haven't had time to stretch out those layers. It slows down, but I'm yet to refine the tiles and the video capture
software wasn't 64bit... soooo.
There you have it, I hope you all enjoyed this presentation :)
I flew to The Island when I was 23 years of age.
My climbing partner was Simon T. Albert. My name is Jon. Jon Strife.
Mr. Albert and I had just touched down and were looking for some provisions before we set out on the exploration.
The cave we were exploring was vast and previously undocumented, bar the usual, local myths and legends.
"What do you think about this story Jon?" Simon asked me, in relation to one of the said island myths.
"It sounds pretty freaky." I said. "But clearly fairy tails."
I looked at Simon, the look on his face told me he agreed.
It wasn't like we needed to give it thought.
The next few days however, would prove us wrong.
The island had one city. The west, the slums. The east, more upper class.
The island had no infrastructure. Vast quantities of money was spent shipping everything to and from the mainland.
From products to all of the islands waist.
Well, waist was supposedly dumped several miles out at sea.
For whatever reason no one could work out. Why not have a dump on the mainland? Surely it would be more cost effective.
Bought by one of the worlds richest families, the island has no name.
They bought it off of Thailand and expected to make millions from tourism.
However, after importing a population of workers from elsewhere and pretty much decimating the native population,
the economy has flat-lined.
The gross GDP has been in steady decline ever since two years before, where a massive storm tore through the area.
The family ceased all tourism operations and marketing.
Walking around the slums, working our way toward the cit-side dock, Simon and I could feel the desperation in the air.
One guy told me,
"I can't leave mate. I saved up all my money, flew out here and the storm hit.
Now they barely pay me enough to eat, I can't afford a ticket back home."
There were tears in his eyes. I gave him ten US dollars.
I couldn't blame the guy for feeling hopeless. He spoke English. His accent was Australian if I'm not mistaken.
He had revoked his citizenship to work here for whatever dream the corporatocracy had spoon fed him.
Now his dreams were clearly ruined. And he had no were to go.
"Alright." Simon said, "We've got all the stuff we need."
We headed out.
The cave had two entrances, one nearest the city and another on a tiny island out at sea.
We were taking the island entrance route. It was the most direct from what our seismologist had indicated.
The other entrances point looked like a web of interconnected tunnels. Our plan was to go "straight down" so to speak.
Then climb our way back up eventually. Possibly over a period of weeks or even months.
A company called Bedlem Associates was financing our dig. For what reason we weren't sure.
"How's this mob, Bedlem Associates?" Simon asked.
"I'm not sure." I said.
"They sound sketchy. I mean, there wasn't even an explanation for why they needed us to explore this cave.
You know how they usually tell us 'oh, it's for the bats,' or, 'we're hoping to get a better understanding of-' you know?"
"Yeah. As I said, I'm not sure. Maybe somebody just wants to know?" I suggested. It had occurred to me.
"Huh. Yeah." By the look on his face, it hadn't occurred to him that a rich guy somewhere just might want to know.
We caught boat from the city-side dock to the small islands dock. Simon located the cave entrance and I secured the line.
We traversed 200 feet until we landed on a small ledge.
Simon unhooked and found that the ledge led to a seam in the rock.
He threw a stone into it.
10 seconds went past and we didn't hear anything. Strange...
I had unhooked moments before. Simon had his torch out and was pointing it to the other side of the large
rock seam, "There!" he exclaimed.
"See that ledge, it leads to yet another seam."
"How do you know that?" I asked.
He looked back,
"I know." He said with a smile. I knew what he meant.
"You can remember how to do this?" He said, as he took off his backpack and began unraveling rope from it's contents.
I laughed. "Of course."
We secured the rope from one end of the gap to the other. This was done using a trick every climber has learned.
It involves a small stick which can take a certain amount of force until it breaks.
This allows you to loop the rope before pulling it, breaking the stick and securing the rope.
I went first, Simon behind. The rope was held tight, there was no chance of it breaking or coming loose.
We were around halfway when it happened.

*** Note from writer. Story for a game I'm making. I'll keep updating it every day or so. You can follow the progress of the game through my profile.. The game's about 60% complete. It's a platformer with physics-based elements. It has puzzles inspired by Zelda and adventure games ;) I'll write this in story form until the game is released. So you guys will know exactly what's going on when it comes out :)
I hope it's entertaining! I've drawn upon my life and the stories I used to make.
I would draw pretty much a map of a platform game level.
Then I'd draw action images throughout the entire thing.
Eventually I had a story and only realised it a few years ago. So now here it is, the beginnings of my story.
Which, eventually, will be a fully working video game :D
Thanks for reading!!

So I was chatting to Luis Alberto Zuno (The Elliot Quest guy) on Facebook about a project I've been developing in the dark and by myself for a year now.
He's a really nice guy and suggested I make a Newgrounds account and start connecting with people who might want to play it :)
In the next hour or so I'm going to begin by uploading some images of the game and posting key specs to give you all a visceral understanding of what I have created. Please follow me for more news!
