Since it's not transparent background, one would have to use magic wand tool, select the whites and remove them (= Bad result in my opinion).
One would either have to do that ^, or draw on a layer above the lineart layer (= bader result)
A colour layer BELOW the lineart
Change the layer mode of the lineart layer to "multiply"
Colour it
PROFIT
For the OP, maybe try and post some of your coloured drawings here too? A brief glimpse of your art page showed that it isn't all the murderously bad. Add to that the fact that your black and white work is quite good.

Euphoria has got nothing on the Blue Gravity Gun and a stasis field!
Out of curiosity, am I the only one that finds himself strangely fascinated with ragdolls?
Every time I kills my first enemy in a game, I always spend some time whacking or shooting their ragdoll, just to see how they react.
Here's a fun fact - mercenaries in the original Far Cry had metal in their crotches.

Better yet, grab the Orange Box and then buy Half-life separately.

I would hate to be an Engineer after the demo/soldier update is released.
Start of the round. An engie sits behind his level 3 sentry. Gates open and 4-5 crit rockets along with a dozen stickies flies towards the sentry.

Everytime I think of Estonia, I think of that Pauly Shore film, "Encino Man" (aka California Man). Uh - it was made in 1992, so the reference might be lost on youngins... Meh
*mumbles and wanders off*
Eh, I never had the thought of asking for a time estimate....Bollocks
Hah, but I got the reference. I remember when the film was first on TV. We have a kid in class whose family name is Link so you can imagine that fun was had...
Done and sent. Got no idea how long it will take for the card to arrive to USA from the other side of the world though...
Oh, what the hell. Did Newgrounds just change my EU-s (Euro signs) to EU's?
Out of curiosity, is there more point in sending the card as registered mail or normal?
The fee for a normal letter should be 0.6 EU while the registered letter costs 1.5EU to send.
The Orange box is the best deal in gaming history. 5 awesome games for 23EU? Fuck yes! Plus you get access to buttload of free mods that way.

Not everyone is a native English speaker, you know :(
Thanks for the extension Nae. Figured I would create a new card because the old one was too crappy for my taste. Silly me, trying to paint the northern lights with watercolours...
I never seize to be amazed by the number of people that fail to notice the date of the last post in the thread...

Oh yeah, memory.
OP, I'm not going to judge wheter or not images created solely with filters are worthy or not. However, seeing as you're so interested in them, allow me to suggest Peacock.
It's a free, web-based program that, in a VERY simple manner of saying, is Photoshop's filters on steroids. Try it out - you don't even have to register to use it ( though you have to in order to save images) so nothing will be lost if you don't like it.
Yes, it looks and feels different, but it gives great results.
So, I did some thinking about locking down the themes and designs that we would be doing.
Firstly, a basic story should be primary concern. It is easier to stick stuff into a world than it is to create a world around lone elements. I'm not talking about an epic-sized story, I mean a basic idea of what's going on. Just enough to think of why what what is attacking the player (and vice versa).
My ideas:
#1 - Some sort of military coup has overthrown the government. You have stolen a prototype military fighter and fly in to save the day.
note - this idea would allow a nice beginning cutscene where the player blasts through the blast doors of the hangar the prototype is and flies out.
#2 - Once again, you stole the prototype, but this time with the goal of selling it on the black market. Thus, the military/olice/others are trying to hunt you and your precious vehicle down.
#3 - The typical "BAWWW, GOVERNMENT SUCKS. LET'S REBEL!". This time you pilot the rebellion's experimental thingy.
Yeah, those were just some basic thoughts to get the ball rolling. One thing I would like to see all ideas end at are the rooftops of an expansive metropolis. Think of a huge, sprawling city in the background, a sunset for good measure and a angry boss for you to fight.
Secondly, enviroments. The city theme is a given (and my thoughts see it as being the last part). However, we could mix and match stuff - create a section of that and a section of anoter thing.
# CITY, only progressive. Starts with lowly ghetto, then to residental region, then downtown, the centre of the city and eventually the heart of the metropolis.
# WASTELAND. This does no offer much opportunities for the technological aspect of our topic. Except for camouflaged enemies.
* However, the idea can be developed. SCRAPYARD - where the broken stuff goes.
* And a MINING COLONY. Dozens of bunker-like mining buildings scattered around the landscape with all kinds of fuel lines, mining machines, storage tanks and any other gear scattered around.
#Inside of a FACILITY.
* A FACTORY of war technology
* A PROTOTYPE LAB.
* A HANGAR BAY.
* MILITARY STORAGE FACILITY - in essence the same as a hangar.
Enemies can be developed to match the enviroments. And the player, I'm so not in the mood for that.
I will post later about getting a common visual style. Too sick right now XP

Been tinkering with 3D too. Here's a space fighter I did for a start. I can't seem to figure out how to create a proper lighting for the cocpit (Cylon fighter style) and the exhausts though...
So, if we have completed our card then you'll send us your address to send it to on the 6th, right?
At 11/30/09 11:50 PM, Kinsei01 wrote: I think for the level design we have pretty much 2 choices wasteland or city.
Nobody ever said that we have to choose one or another...We could always have a section of one and then a section of another.
I say we go with the animal theme. It's a pretty solid idea, we can make a small list of critters, robofy them and call them the baddies.
Ngghhh, don't at all like that idea. I'm all for organic-looking enemy ships, but actual robotic animals?
.....I was never a fan of Sonic.
And finally we need to get a user ship.
On a conceptual level, I agree. A'la deciding whether it's a police or military or rebel ship? Boxy or slim or...etc.
Also, just for anyone interested, I sent BomToons a PM about player designs. His response - "the design is not final yet. Right now I need finalized bgs and enemies. Any player designs should only be conceptual."
The face for that version (HL2) was made out of the faces of several Valve employees morphed together, such as David Speyrer, Eric Kirchmer, Greg Coomer and Kelly Bailey.
Would recommend against designing the player ship at the current time. Tossing around ideas and base concepts, sure, but remember that we are going to have a predetermined hit area to the ship. There will most likely be a layout template by BoMToons that we are to follow. So there's no point is creating a circle-shaped ship if it actually has to be pear-shaped.
These were just examples, FYI
Also, below is a concept for the city level.
Welcome to City 17.
To the OP - try OpenTTD. It's an open source clone of the game that adds many new neat features to the original. It's the small things that really could ;)
