The majority appears to be Flash-drawn. Their website had videos of Dan drawing/animating the graphics in Flash.

Not all enemies are monsters. Besides, enemies aren't necessarily characters, just cannon fodder.
I've always wanted to draw HL2EP2 Hunters. Might give it a try.

Oh...oh dear. No wonder you had problems running GIMP...I'm sorry, but with such computers you are lucky to even run the program, let alone render the 3D images within this decade...I am no 3D pro, but from I've gathered it is veeeery demanding on your computer. The NC10 is a notebook and these are typically regarded as mobile devices for writing and suring the internet, not for heavy-duty work.
You didn't say what Inspiron you have though - Wikipedia page on Inspirons shows that there is a buttload of them, some are better than others.

Also, I would like to note one thing about angryglacier's comment - Blender's interface isn't necessarily easier to use than 3DMAX's. It's is more steamlined, BUT it is so because it uses keyboard shortcuts for the majority of tasks. Bascially, you are forced to learn several dozen keystrokes by heart before you can do much with the program, making it a headache to learn.

I remember playing through the demo of Penumbra. It had a great atmosphere----up until the point when I saw the...whatever these hostile creatures were. The animation and movement of those creatures was so horribly jagged and crappy that it killed any immersion.

I assume that this is what you seek for.
Looking at your other thread, I would remove the Satin effect (or is it bevel you have there), remove the texture and then brighten up the green. After that, you need to do scanlines in the background. These are the smal, thin lines you see in the background of the Pip-Boy. This tutorial says how
After that the optional touch-ups - that big highlight and texture

Think of an average overweight woman. Now, make her even more overweight, give her a goofy smile, make her drool and give her only pants and a bra.
Not a pretty sight.

As of now, I have something along the lines of -

AID = setInterval(function ()
{
      *do stuff*
}, spawnTimer);

...where I want to be able to change what the value of spawnTimer is.. The problem is, once you create the interval, it will continue to run with the initial interval that you gave it.

Does anybody know of a efficient way to make intervals with varying length? I would prefer not to use frames for this because the game I'm doing is somewhat prone to lagging.

No, I was just pointing out that Far Cry 2 and the original Far Cry are not connected at all, thus it is pointless to be pissed about not having played the original.

Errr, not exactly pissed. But definitely curious to know what happened in th prequel.

Far cry 2

PS - this and Far Cry are connected ONLY by name. Everything else is different. Far Cry 2 is about fighting militias in some hellhole in Africa. Far Cry was about fighting mercenaries and mutated monkeys (and saving a chick) on a mad scientist's island.

Has anybody had any experience using this website? Have you found it to be useful? Not useful? Is the anatomy correct? Has it led to developing bad habits? Is it good for nothing more than learning how to draw figures quickly?

I use the website every once in a while in a ten-minute drawing spree. When it comes to anatomy I feel that Posemaniacs has one thing that separates it from being an excellent source of learning anatomy - quality. You are given a small 600X600 box in which a model with blurry textures can be seen. Hardly ideal. Also, the form (in the lack of a better word) of these models is hard to understand because textures cover up the little shading there is.
So I prefer to use references over Posemaniacs for studying anatomy. However, when it comes down to learning the form and general shape of human body I believe that Posemaniacs is a very competent tool.
