You can never go wrong learning C. It's used everywhere still.

Not if you are going for web development.

Also, drink loads of fluid. Even Coca-Cola will help. Coffee tend to dehyderate people (you can notice that quick if you get tired of coffee).

Try energy drink?

Not that many disorders... more lifestyle problems. We use a lot of our time inside in front of the TV/computer and many of us never work out. We eat unhealty stuff...

Mixed thoughts here... I guess. People in this thread and elsewhere say that 3D programming does require good math skills. I agree web development is pretty straight forward, but what if we use WebGL and Canvas?
You're being pedantic. If you want to be a good programmer you need a solid base on which to build, that means understanding algorithms, how to assess the fitness and complexity and how to choose the best solution to an abstract problem. Some knowledge of patterns wouldn't hurt either so long as you understand why they appeared and how they are useful in some cases.
If you want to take it to the next level from there, you're going to have to learn the hardware level, how the program data moves into memory, how the processor pipelines operations and generally how the machines that must run the program you are building work in real life.
For instance consider having an array of 1000000 elements on which you must perform some calculations based on the following condition

if (x[i] > 128)

Even though it might sound counter intuitive, sorting that array will increase the performance of your program because it helps the branch predictor take the right course on most processors.

Cheers

No, no. That was not what I meant. He talked about web development. After what I have seen and heard web is becoming a great deal. It gives us great opportunities with new elements, tags, tools, better browsers etc.

What I mean is that web is not what it used to be for since like 3 years ago - it has moved a lot forward the last few years. I just brought that up as an example because I belive that web development will become huge in the near future. I made a program in Java a few years back and put it out on my site so people could download it. I got next to nothing of downloads execpt from a few friends. I decided to re-do the whole program and make it in JavaScript, CSS and HTML5. Just a few months later, a lot of people began using it and gave reviews. People trust using my program online, but not to download it.

All I'm saying is that the web is going to play more matter in the future. Hope you get my point :)

Heigh does not have anything to say in my vision.

Sorry, had to fit programmer in the title.

I am not that great at math, but I don't suck either. Well, my question is it really necessary to be a good programmer? I have felt that it does not have anything to do to eachother other than average math skills. My family states to me all the time: "If you do awesome in math, you will be an awesome programmer".

But what do you think?

That sucks... Though, I have the same thing, man! Except I'm in Denver :(

I have to hang out in this city while all my friends are in Louisiana.

This is getting out of hand. I have a Facebook, but I rarley use it.. Why? Because I am not one of those who writes about their lives every day and need to see what everyone is doing. I think social networks are making us unsocial.

Tablets are more handy to just bring along. But they can never replace laptops completley because they do not have a real file system, real keyboard and the power a laptop can give.
