So i'm trying my hand at game design but have got a bit stuck.
I have one movie clip, of a bird, its called player_mc
I want the player to carry an egg, always underneath it, but since the player can go upside down, i can't just simply do:
egg_mc.y = player_mc.y + 20
as when the player does a loop, the egg does not stick under the player, it just stays below it.

So i wondered if i nested a movieclip underneath the player, in the symbol then i can do
egg.x & y = nested items x & y
egg roatation = nested items roatation

However, instead of giving me the x and y on the main stage, its giving me the x & y of the nested clip inside the players symbol.

So can somone please help me by telling me the code to get a nested clips x & y on the stage rather than in the clip its nested it,

(sorry if thats confusing!)

Bone tool, is it cheating? Posted June 11th, 2010 in Animation

Just found out what it does and it feels a bit like cheating...

Sorry, i really didnt get the last post about the lines, also i do use the brush tool with smoothing.

For my next project i want to animate a monolouge, should i draw lots of symbols for the mouth and just swap them out, it would make it alot smoother!!

Thanks for all the help so far...

yer i use onion skin and draw every frame in flash. I usually redraw the whole character on one frame , but always get variations in things like line thickness ( i use a tablet ).

So this is my latest Animation and i need some help. I've never really got how to successfully do frame by frame animation, but i had a good go at it in this movie. Unfortunatly, it wasn't as smooth as i would have liked. I was re-drawing every frame of the main character alot, and it just looks a bit jumpy sometimes.

So if someone could watch that and give me some tips (or jsut the advice!). I really need some help before i start my next project.
Thanks in advance!!!!
