Joining the Military Posted January 19th, 2008 in General

Even though I'm only 15, I've seriously considered (though not at length yet) joining the U.S military when I'm older.
Problems are, I plan on attending college and working in the movie industry, so I don't know when a good time to join the military would be.
Also, and yes, this sounds a little cowardly, but I don't want to be a soldier. I'd be a terrible soldier.

Is there any way to join the military that is not combat? People have suggested to me stuff like "cook for the platoon" or something like that, but I wouldn't want to do that.
Is there any job somewhat important in the military, like a strategist that does not involve combat?

Response to: "The scariest moment of my life" Posted January 19th, 2008 in General

I don't know, let me see.
Names have been changed for this.
I was going to teach the 6th graders at Hebrew school, and had just left but had forgotten my bag at home so I crept in, lights off to get it, so that I would'n't annoy my sister.
Suddenly, my sister goes "Hello? Anyone there?"

I say nothing, and she starts walking down. She'll find me anyway, so I called "'Sarah,' it's me."
She screamed and thought I was a burglar. She screamed and I kept yelling "'Sarah, it's me, Josh!"
I thought she would call 911 so I turned on the light and showed myself.
Thought she'd bean me with a baseball bat or call 911.

"Freud would've said the sausages stood for penises."
The people eating them weren't clearly defined, although they probably were guys.

There was no sexuality in the dream - the sausages were nothing but food.

I don't have an eating or weight problem, and though I am a little bit childish, I'm not childish around eating (I don't chew with my my open, don't play with my food, etc.)

Interpret my dream! Posted January 16th, 2008 in General

Last night I had a really weird dream. I was sick (still am) with the flu, tossing and turning, but here is my dream. Really, I'd like a real interpretation or at least an attempted one.

I was at this banquet, except it really wasn't all that fancy, except there was plenty of food.
There really was just a long white space with a few tables and chairs, and hundreds of people were scarfing down food.
The food was in piles on the floor, but it was clean and people were eating off of it.
There was a pile of sausages, about 15 of them (large ones) and three people were in the pile fighting over this one sausage that was the same as the others in the pile, and I thought "Why are they fighting over one sausage if there's enough in the pile for them to have a few?"

Then I saw the same thing happen in a pile of cheese. I believe it was cheddar, but it looked the like the cartoony cheese, yellow with holes, you know what I mean.
Then someone threw food at me and there was a food fight, people were throwing food and trying to take it for themselves.

I think the fighting may symbolize man's greed to have more than he needs, but I don't know.

Slavery, then racism.

If the people living in Africa were white, I doubt they would have been made slaves.
Racism came first.

Vegemite is the funniest food.
How do people (Aussies) scarf that stuff down on bread? It tastes like gorrilla vomit!

I'm pretty sure there are spirits on the earth.
Of course, I don't think they want world domination or anything.

I'd say you have stomach flu, if you're puking and a sore throat.
See a doc, get some mediciene, stay in bed and drink plenty of water.

"To be the best and make everyone happy and love G-d and all that."
No.
I think the real meaning of life is to make something of yourself, no matter how small that when you die you can say "I did my best."

If I was G-d...
I'd make it clear that I love y'all, but I'm the boss, and the bowing down on your knees and praising me is appreciated, but unnecessary.

I'd tell people to wise up, try to solve world hunger and other problems.

Confederate's View of the Civil War Posted January 9th, 2008 in Politics

In the North (for those of you who learned it differently in the South) The Civil War was against the South who, to us, were cruelly oppressing blacks and using them as slaves. We believed that the South was almost evil to allow such a thing, and when Lincoln was killed, John Wilkes Booth was beyond evil.
We are also taught in school that Jim Crow laws were oppressive as well.

That's it for what I've learned.
So NGers from the south, what do you learn about the Civil War or "The war of Northern Aggression" as I've heard it be called.
What's your point of view on this war?

Ask a stupid question (4Chan) Posted January 5th, 2008 in General

This may sound like a stupid question, but
wtf is 4chan?
I've heard people talk about it, saying "sell Wade to 4chan) but what is it?

I really don't know.
Riddle: Door to heaven or hell Posted January 5th, 2008 in General

There is a correct answer to this.
You are in a room with two doors and two men.
You want to go to heaven.
One door leads to heaven and the other to hell, but you don't know which leads where.
One man only tells the truth and the other one only tells lies, but you don't know which one tells the truth and which lies.

You are only allowed to ask each man one question. After that, they will not respond.
The men know which door leads to heaven and which one leads to hell.

Riddle: You must ask both of them a question and find out which door leads to heaven/hell (if you find out one you find the other.

Hint: You ask them both the same question.

What do you ask them?

No, we (me and my family) don't know the name yet but when we seem him we'll choose a name.
We have a few names on the table
Stitches
Stat
Tripper
Bubba

I want Tripper to be his name, but it could change.

I don't get turned on by violence in movies, but it is fun to watch.
