I'm thinking of installing Malwarebytes on my computer, since I've heard it's good at getting rid of malware and spyware. But, I know that it's unsafe to have more than one anti-malware on your computer at the same time.
On my computer, I have:
Windows Firewall
avast! 4.8 Home Edition (free version, registered)
Windows Defender

I have all of those right now. Will I need to remove any of them to safely put in Malwarebytes, or can I just install Malwarebytes now and be ok?

Topic: I should have been born earlier

Posted: 11/15/09 12:21 AM

Forum: General

Sometime in the 40s. Or 60s...
I've never felt like I should be this age at this time. I think people today are dumber than they were several decades ago.
I'm 17, and I think rap music is unimaginitive and stupid.
I want a typewriter for Christmas
I don't like this generation that I'm a part of.
I'm constantly amazed at technology like cell phones and computers, which, by the way, I'm horrible at using.

If I see a movie that takes place in the 60s, I feel a longing. It would be great to live in that period. Just a few decades ago, at the age I am now.
I feel like I should have been born several decades earlier than I was. I feel like I've missed out on so many events in history.
Fall of the Berlin Wall? Missed it.
Fall of the Soviet Union? Just missed it.
Vietnam? Missed that war.

I've always envied my parents and baby boomers for living in a time when at my age, things were simpler, technology was booming, and the economy was great.
People were different.

I've never felt like I truly fit in this time period- the early 2000s. I wish I was born earlier.
Anyone else feel that way?

Topic: Swine Flu's nothing to worry about!

Posted: 11/11/09 02:05 PM

Forum: Politics

I've heard people wonder, "Is Swine Flu dangerous? People have died from it, therefore if I get it, I'll probably die from it or be hospitalized."

I had swine flu over the weekend (better now,) and it is such a wussy disease.
I had a backache for one day, a slightly clogged nose, no appetite, a persistant but not painful cough, and some paleness.

All I did was rest for 2 days and take Tamiflu, and by the end of the weekend I was back to normal.

I've had colds worse than this little swine flu.
Swine flu's only dangerous if you're a baby, 100 years old, pregnant, or if you have a pre-existing medical condition that you should already be in the hospital for. Assuming that most of us are not at the age extremes, expecting, or have already horrible diseases, you'll be fine.

Don't worry about Swine Flu. If you get it, stay home because you will feel like crap, but if this is the worst disease you've ever had, consider yourself lucky.

Topic: American Nationalism: It's not bad!

Posted: 11/02/09 06:55 PM

Forum: General

Far too many Europeans (and Americans for that fact too) think that if you support America, then you support the President and would do whatever he wants.
That's not true.
American Nationalism has been twisted into a "I supported an invasion of Iraq, I love oil, oil, oil, and I love my President!"

I am against the invasion of Iraq, I know we need to get off of our oil addiction, and I do not support Obama blindly.

But if someone asks me if I am patriotic or if I love America, I'd say yes.

I love America.

I don't love the capitol, or the President. I love its ideas of freedom and justice for all.
I don't love ignorant idiots that America has. I love the geniuses that it houses too.
I don't love apple pie and baseball. I love American culture.

I don't love the war in Iraq or our oil addiction. I love that we have done miraculous things in the past, and that we will continue to do so.

Simply, it's my homeland. I was born in America, and I could never move or abandon it. I will always be an American. It's part of me.

I am a nationalist. I deeply love my country. It may be going through a tough time, but I know that we will get out of the mess we are in using American ingenuity. History will repeat itself. We will rise out of poverty and weakness to triumph again, not through war, but through peace and the fulfillment of the happiness of the American people and the world.

I don't blindly follow my government; I would do anything to ensure my country's safety.

Is it wrong to feel this way about America, or your own country? Nationalism is not supporting the government. It's supporting your country and your fellow citizens.

I love America.

Forget anybody's government or policies or people. Just think about the land.

If you're European:
When you think of America, does it still seem like the far-off, wilderness filled New World to you? Does it spark imagery of wild forests, native Americans, and pioneers? Does it still seem like the other side of the world, the frontier?

If you're American:
When you think of Europe, does it seem like a faraway "old country"? Do you think of it as a place with old heritage, plenty of tradition, and old cultures? Does it seem like Europe is the other side of the world and that you're actually on the frontier, or the other way around?

Topic: America, love it or leave it? BS

Posted: 11/01/09 04:42 PM

Forum: Politics

You're taking the quote way out of context there.

First of all, there is nothing you can do about it to make them leave.

Who said about forcing people to leave? I think it's more of an opinion, that you should leave, not that we'll make you leave.

Secondly, those rights that you like that give you the freedom speach, let others say what they want.

Since America is not forcing anti-Americans out, that statement is without relevance to reality.

Sure those same rights give the others to say love it or leave it, but as well they give me the same right to say that saying that is pointless and stupid.

I don't see your point.

And also the whole "If you don't support the president (Mainly said durring when Bush was in office) then you have no right to call yourself an American"

Now you're taking the quote out of context. Loving America does not necessarily mean that you love or support the President. I don't like Obama that much, but I have a deep love for my country.

Well if someone doesn't have the right to call themselves an American if they don't support the president, then naturally by saying that they will be fined or locked up or something. But because they can say that without any punishments for doing such, they the have the right. But then again the other person also has the right to...well, be a jackass. And I have a right to say they are full of shit.

You don't have any factual basis for this. Have you ever been to Capitol Hill and the White House? There are people out there daily outside the White House lawn, protesting. Provided that they're peaceful protestors, they're not arrested.

And people that support the president blindly are idiots.

"I support anything the president says, no matter what"
Then you hypothetically would support genocide in and out of the country with you being one of the victims. You said it, not me.

Find someone who says that. I dare you.

Topic: A Drunkard at my Gym

Posted: 10/24/09 06:00 PM

Forum: General

Last night, I was on the treadmill, running and reading a book, when this 50-some year old man who was not exactly in his prime lumbered up and got on the elliptical machine next to me. Out of the corner of my eye I saw him produce a small canteen from under one of the small towels that the gym provides.

He started to open the bottle and the combination of body odor and booze hit me. The man fumbled with the bottle cap but managed to get it open, celebrating his victory with a quick gulp from the canteen.

I decided to keep an eye on this man and pray that he wasn't a mean drunk. He started running on the elliptical, but his pacing was sluggish, and his arms floppped everywhere; from the handles to the buttons on the control pad to the little cupholder where he kept his bottle.

He tripped and almost fell flat on his face had I not caught him by quickly jumping off the treadmill.

He burped in my face as I struggled to push him back up. He slurred, "thanks sonny, but I'm ok," and I smelled every syllable.

He took another gulp from his canteen, giggling as he put his pinky finger up as he drank. He got back on the elliptical and swung his legs back and forth so that his legs never went in a full rotation/step.

His burp was so loud that everyone else in the cardio center turned and looked at him. He looked back at them with his bloodshot eyes and said loudly, "it's ok, everyone, it's a bodily function," while struggling with the first syllable of "function."

He then took out his newspaper and started to read it on the elliptical. He didn't even bother to move his legs; he just stood there and read it, making loud comments about the stock market or "that stupid balloon boy in 'Corolado'"

I had had enough. I went to the front desk and ask that this man please be removed before he caused any trouble. The secretary called 911, and her assistant called out two managers to escort the man out. He didn't cause a lot of trouble, mostly because he was too inebriated to stand, let alone fight off the managers, but he did complain loudly while being taken outside to the waiting patrol car.

Right now I'm using AVG 8.5 Free, and it's pretty good, but I'd like to know any other good anti-viruses.
For a response, the anti-virus you suggest must be in agreement with these three conditions:
1: It must be free
2: It cannot be a 30 day trial or anything. AVG Free has no expiration date, and neither should your suggestion. However, if the free version will last up to at the very least six months, I'll aceept that.
3: It must be legal and safe to download. I'm not downloading anything illegal or from an unsafe website.

Thanks for your help!

Topic: There's no Israeli genocide

Posted: 10/04/09 07:32 PM

Forum: Politics

There are plenty of left-wing morons who claim that Israel wants to wipe out all the Muslims in its area, and that's it doing a genocide on Palestinians and Muslims.
This is not true. I've seen it with my own eyes.
Late March 2007, I went on a trip to Israel with my family. As regular American tourists, we visited the Dome of the Rock, a holy Muslim site. While we were on the temple mount (area around the mosque,) I saw IDF soldiers at the entrances to the mosque, guarding those who were washing their feet in the fountains provided to pray. As a non Muslim and a Jew, I was forbidden from entering the temple, and when it was time for the Muslims there to pray, the IDF forcibly escorted all non-Muslims off the area.
Those IDF soldiers guarded and were prepared to risk their lives to prevent a tragedy from happening to Muslims in one of their most holy sites.
So how can it be that those same people are on a genocidal mission to destroy all Muslims?

Topic: Israel shouldn't exist! Pt. 2

Posted: 09/05/09 05:16 PM

Forum: Politics

Pt. 1

I have come to post to bring sense to you conservatives who dare criticize Gaza and Hamas and call us terrorists! Using the beauty of what we see as logic, I will destroy any and all arguments that say that Israel must be supported and is legitimate!

Israel's actions in Operation Cast Lead were horrible! How dare they accuse Hamas, the most benevolent governments for the people of terrorism! Ask any person on the street in Gaza, and ask them if they think Hamas is the greatest. Undoubtedly they say yes. Those who don't are unpatriotic and are appeasing the Great Satan and its puppet.
Israel's stranglehold on humanitarian aid caused the 2008-2009 Gaza War! It's because of those damn nosy Jews that the war started. They give Hamas and Gaza no privacy, by reminding us as if we are children, "don't shoot off rockets and we'll allow aid in," and sending their soldiers to search and collapse our secret weapon smuggling tunnels that lead from Gaza to Egypt. Israel, in a typical nosy Jewish fashion, has invaded Gaza's privacy! How dare they!

And don't even get me started on Jews not leaving Muslims alone! Even though due to many threats and freedom fighting attacks on Israel, they have always done what they have called a "pre-emptive strike," to start many wars. Shame, shame, Israelis, always the country to make the first move in a war...after your schools and towns have been bombed by us, of course.

We must always look back to the beginning of the problem, in 1948, when the UN, a mostly Western creation, decided that there would be a Jewish state, they did an illegal action! What right did the UN have to simply partition this land and give some of it to the Jews? Any country that the UN partitions and proclaims legitimate is really an illegitimate country, except for Jordan, Lebanon, Syria, and Iraq. Even though they were also created by the UN, those four are the exceptions, for reasons that the simple reader cannot possibly understand. I won't explain why.

Do not listen to conservative propoganda! Listen to people like Jimmy Carter. Except for a horrible economy, a gas embargo, the taking of hostages in Iran, and horrible relations in the Middle East, he was a fantastic President, who the Middle East has never hated since now.

Posted: 09/05/09 12:33 PM

Forum: General

There's one thing about Germany's Constitution that baffles me, and I can't figure out why the law is as it is.

You see, in Japan, (this is relevant) they are still bound by their Post-WWII Constitution. Even today, Japan is not allowed to declare war and they have no military outside of a defense force, which is not allowed to leave Japanese soil.

Why, then, is Germany allowed to declare war? They started WWII, did far worse than the Japanese, yet can declare war. I don't know if they were allowed to declare war as West and East Germany, but now as a reunified Germany, their war machine is capable of launching attacks.

Why didn't the Allies ban Germany forever from making war again, when that's what they did to Japan?

That never caught on, and even then people in America thought that changing french fries to freedom fries was stupid.
.. maybe its time to see that we are all the same, no imaginary line should ever be looked at as a border of who is good and who is bad when half the time you can expect things to go differant than how an individual in said country feels. why label a whole country after the actions of its leaders elected or not...

Sounds really wishy-washy. "We're all the same, we should love each other, etc." But in Europe there are huge cultural differences, (and I'm not saying that as an insult) so there, borders DO matter. If anything, borders matter less in America than Europe.

this old world way of thinking is garbage, always looking to the past when you should be striving to make a better future so future generations dont have to put up with the bullshit of today, our yesterday for that matter.

Topic: How do you feel, Europe?

Posted: 09/05/09 01:03 AM

Forum: Politics

Does all this USA-bashing make you better? Forgotten all those years we've been saving your asses?

What about you, England? Forgotten how we proved to you that democracy does work? Forgotten that we saved your ass in WWI and WWII? What about our "special relationship"? Is that broken?

What about you, France? Who came to your aid in WWI, freed you in WWII? We did. We went to Vietnam to help you reclaim colonies, and did we get so much as a thank you?

Ah, Germany, let's not forget you. Even after you murdered 6 million people, caused two world wars, and killed countless people, who fought the hardest to re-unify you? The United States. Did Russia or any other European countries work to tear down the Berlin Wall and reunite families?

Portugal and Spain, don't look so smug. After all, you were ruled by dictators until well into the 70s, long after it was thought to be dumb.

Poland...well, I got nothing bad to say about Poland. They're true friends.

And Canada, I know you're not European, but you're a European away from home. You're not very North American. Still bowing to the Queen of England? Still having to proclaim that your policeman are royal? Let's not forget our mutual missile defense treaty that is no doubt mostly US missiles. If we're attacked, we both know who'll be defending.

During the 50s, you loved America because of the Truman Doctrine. And the containment policy for Communism? You guys ate it up. You cowered beneath the US's shield of democracy, protecting you from harm.

And in the 80s, Europe was re-united, thanks to America.

So, yes, Europe, we're sorry that we're in a recession. We're sorry that for once, we need a helping hand. It's just a shame that people we've helped for decades, our "friends," are lazy malcontents who are only friends with the person with the wallet.
When you all were on your backs, we helped you up. But now that America has stumbled, has fallen to the ground, where's Europe's helping hand?
I hope that your America-bashing has made you feel better. I hope that your bashing of the US has helped you. Because when you look at history, the difference between Europeans and Americans is that when Europeans are faced with tough times, they turn to authoritarian dictatorships. But when Americans are faced with tough times, they turn to more democracy and freedom.

Thanks, Europe.

Topic: How I'd reform the justice system

Posted: 08/23/09 12:10 AM

Forum: Politics

1: Life in prison actually means life. Parole, possibly, but if someone gets life without parole, he's only coming out of prison in a body bag.

2: Castration for rapists. If a man rapes a woman 17 years old or younger, he must be put to death through lethal injection (or any painless death). If it's 18 or older, he must be castrated and given a hefty, hefty prison sentence.

3: Intensify the sexual predator laws. There are laws where you can see where in a neighborhood a sexual predator lives. I'd keep it that way, but make it possible for people to get removed from the list, provided that:
-The assault happened forty or more years ago
-They commit to castration or genital impairment medication.

4: If someone commits murder, or attempts to commit murder, even if it's holding a gun to someone's head, he/she should be executed. If someone, however, takes an unloaded gun and is aware that it's unloaded, he/she should be put in jail, not executed.

5: If someone leads police on a wild chase and endangers innocent lives, he/she must be executed.

6: If someone breaks another person's limb, his/her limb should be broken.

7: If a criminal who has done a crime that warrants death based on the above is critically injured while running from the police, he/she should not be taken to the doctor. If he/she is conscious and in pain, anesthesia should be administered.

8: Killing in self-defense, if the attack is unprovoked and life-threatening, should not be subject to execution.

9: If a criminal kills/injures people, the criminal's own money should pay for the burial/hospital bills. If there is not enough money, the criminal's belongings may be sold to pay for it.

10: If a criminal shoots at a cop or attempts to seriously injure a cop, the cop may retaliate and shoot the criminal.

11: Drunk drivers, even if they put no people in danger, should be banned permanently from ingesting alcohol.

Ever since I got this dog, he has been so stubborn. He flat out refuses to wear clothes, opting only for a collar. It's embarrassing to take him for walks. All he does is walk around, sniff things, and be completely unaware that he is out in public naked. I mean, he doesn't even have the common decency to wear pants, so his butt and junk are uncovered. Anyone can see them!
Even when it's winter out and there's snow everywhere, my dog runs around outside with nothing but a collar to protect him from the harsh elements. He doesn't even wear snow boots to protect his delicate paws. I'm worried he'll injure himself somehow.
Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can change my dog's beliefs in nudism?

As the time I type this, the Lockerbie terrorist, by the last name of Al-Megrahi, (his full name is really long), is in a plane on the way back to Libya. He is one of the people who assisted with the Pan Am Flight 103 terrorist attack. In 1988, the Pan Am Flight 103, a flight that was going from London to the United States, was planted with a bomb, which exploded over Lockerbie, Scotland. There were no survivors.

This man, who has helped kill 270 people, is going free after serving 8 years in prison.
You see, this is a true miscarriage of justice. This terrorist, this monster, is going to live out the rest of his life in freedom, regarded as a hero with his friends. While he's celebrating, 270 people are rolling over in their graves.

I bet that Europe is thinking about re-instating the death penalty so monsters like him will never go free again.

What are some stupid, illogical desires have you wanted that you knew in actuality were bad?
Here are some of mine:

-Be in a school shooting.
Of course, I wouldn't be the shooter and I wouldn't be shot. I'd be like Pico in Pico's School, amazingly survive the shooter spraying bullets in the classroom, being the sole survivor, except I would try to escape the school, knowing that around any corner there could be a shooter.\ I would tackle the shooter and cripple him, and be a hero. It would also take place at night and police sirens would be heard in the school.
Of course, in real life, I would either be shot, or be haunted by nightmares about the shooting. But who wouldn't be haunted? I know in reality, a school shooting would be horrible.

-Be alive during some history-altering event and/or war.
I "wanted" this before 9/11 occurred. I thought before, "we have peace, nothing's going on in the world now, there's nothing that I can look back on and think, "I remember that time." I was 8 at the time I thought this. Of course, 9/11/01 came and I got my "wish," and even now I think it was stupid.

But just imagine this. You go on a journey throughout the world, with good friends, capturing monsters and forcing them to beat the living crap out of each other. Legally!
You are the hero because you stop bumbling bad guys, with laughs and adventures.
Who wouldn't want that? Forget the cheesy jokes and stuff here, (because I'm imagining first season) because it would be fun.
