That's a pretty closed minded way of seeing things. Consider long ago that this website was primarily for Flash Animations and Games. Then it expanded to audio. Then art. In it's current iteration it's moving away from being flash-centric, and being more media-centric, now that the option to upload videos is rolling out.

At some point, since writing is the art of games and animation (you don't have either without it), writing will gain a more prominent position. Will this be anywhere near games and movies? Not by a long shot. But it'll still be a viable solution.

Ultimately, this site is focused on projects of passion. There's not really much outsourcing of writing. But just as with the video game industry, once a point was reached where a competent writer was needed to organize a video game's driving force, actual writers were called in to fill those positions. The same holds true for NG. When the site reaches a point where the bar for quality hits a certain high, real writers will be needed.

Well, regardless of how things here are changing, my original point still stands. If the original poster of the topic is looking for immediate respect and attention, he should probably go to another website while the community here evolves. I'm not bashing Newgrounds or the community here, I'm just saying that's how it is.

Every forum hates new folks coming in. Dilutes the genepool, so to speak.

Well, this isn't really a website dedicated to writing in the first place, kinda like how DeviantART isn't a website dedicated to writing, either.

It's nice that this forum is here, but at the end of the day, this site's primary content is flash games and animations and art and music.

If you want more respect as a writer, you may have more luck in different pastures.
