I will be voting for Obama. My belief in the man is actually rather skeptical (I still haven't bought into the whole "Change we can believe in" non-sense and I would have prefered the Hilary had gotten the nomination) but any respect I had for McCain is now gone. While I haven't always agreed with McCain's politics I at least respected him as a man with integrity, if his view was not in line with the rest of the Republican party he would say so openly. That's how he got the Maverick image in the first place. Well now that he's the nominee all that seems to have been dropped, he's changed his position on numerous issues from his previous maverick stance to one that is in line with the party. The man sold out for the nomination and I have lost my respect for him. With Obama as I said I haven't bought into the hype but I at least agree with most of the mans stated positions on issues, there's just the cynical part of me that isn't sure he'll stick behind all of them.
I figure ultimately religion as done about equal amounts of good and bad, though from my observation the good is small scale (personal gains and improvements) and the damage is more large scale (holy wars). But the same can be said of science and technology (small scale good like all our little tech conveniences and large scale damage like the green house effect and atomic bombs), and really almost anything. It's all a wash in the end.
Personally I think the singel greatest track would be the ending and credits music from FFVI, totally epic and wonderfully incorporates the theme of every character in the game.

At least they're up front about it.
Depends on my mood, sometimes I can really go for tapioca.
Super Mario World. There have been some great ones since then but it's still the best.
Generally I feel the best soundtracks are on RPGS, and for me the absolute best was Chrono Trigger.
I think it's worth pointing out that there a definite difference between beating a game and truly completing it. To me completing it means taking the time to find every secret, every hidden item and character and pilfer every secret room. So for me there aren't that many that I've truly completed (most RPGS such as Final Fantasy series, Chrono Trigger, Parasite Eve, etc).

Then lock me in a straight jacket and hide the knives because I must be totally nuts! (Played completely through every Final Fantasy since FFIV, excluding FFXI)

In Europe, you must actually pay fees and membership costs and what not.
I'd be interested to see something like that implemented here. I think that people might take more of an active interest in what they're party was doing if they had to pay to be a member.
The best of SquareSoft (before it was SquareEnix): Final Fantasy VI, Chrono Trigger, Secret of Mana.
I don't have a real clear reason as to why but I've always loved Locke from FFVI

But on topic
Fatal Frame/RE3 - Nemesis/Silent Hill 1
Ok I admitted right in the post I don't play many "scary games" but if you want to know why I put RE4 it's because I never got through more than 5 minutes of any of the earlier RE games because the controls sucked beyond belief.
This doesn't settle anything. Genetics determines your potential, but nuture helps determine whether or not you live up to it. Just because somebody is born with a higher IQ doesn't mean they'll know how to make good use of what they have.
Without getting into the argument of whether or not he deserves it... he's out of office in a matter of months anyways.
Dumbest by Design: Cait Sith from FFVII. I love the series, love the game but come on... a talking cat riding a giant stuffed doll?!? WTF?
Dumbest by Intelligence: Raiden from MGS2, I swear to god the guy's response to everything was "Huh?" "What?"
Resident Evil 4
Eternal Darkness
Sanitarium
(I admit I'm not a big player of scary games, not that I don't like to be scared but most of the time I don't think horror games actually play very well.)
I have to go with Aeris' death in Final Fantasy VII. I know it's not a pull the rug out from under you plot twist but she was so built up to be the one thing to save the world that for her to get killed 1/3 of the way into the game just completely blindsides you. There are some people still in such shock that they insist that there must be ways to get her back, which SquareEnix has said over and over and over again is impossible.
I think these are all funny, the first one especially. But then again I have been known for having a sick sense of humor sometimes. They're a little insensative but I think they're also creative enough to take the curse off it, for me at least.
I'll clarify my point right off because I know people will see the subject and get the wrong idea. I'm not saying that nobody should vote. My concern is about the uninformed vote.
In a perfect world everybody would research the candidates, they positions on issues and their histories and come to an informed descision about who their vote should go towards. However the reality is that most Americans do little to no real research, don't watch the debates and vote off what can only really be described as an impression of the candidates.
I came to this realization arguing with my wife about the fact that it is her intention not to vote. She pointed out that she doesn't know much about either candidate and realistically is not going to take time out of her day to find stuff out. As much as I would like her to take an active interest it does make me realize something. If a person isn't going to do the research (which I think we can agree most people don't) I would rather they not vote at all rather than vote on what equates to a whim.
There's such a push to try and get people out there voting. But all the focus seems to be on the act of voting rather than taking the time to weigh both sides like a responsible voter should. Do us all a favor if you haven't done any research, if you haven't followed the candidates or the campaigns then just stay home on election day.
The 1970s version of "Invasion of the Body Snatchers," I was seriously scared to go to sleep after that one.
The thing is that the right has a tendency to call anybody who doesn't always agree with them as "liberal" or "left wing" or something like that when most media outlets tend to fall pretty well in the center. Some lean a little one way or the other but usually not extremely (FOX being the obvious exception and I suppose an argument could be made for NPR being left leaning but there isn't much beyond those two).
I defy your ill conceived propaganda which is based on nothing more than saying "eveybody sucks but him." I prefer to judge for myself. I judge all as unworthy! I proclaim myself emperor of America! Kneel before Zod!
I really wish Gore would run again but knowing that's not going to happen I'm going for Hilary mostly by default. I don't trust Obama and as you might have guessed I'm not Rebulican. But if you made me go Republican I'd go with McCain.
I find myself favoring Hillary by default. Mainly because I don't trust Obama. The guy came out of nowhere... and personally that brings around too many memories of Bush's first run. Young guy, not much a track record so he can basically claim anything he wants as far as how he would be because there's not much we can reference, we're just taking his word.
In principle I completely agree with you, everybody is at risk, and that question being an automatic disqualifier is pretty stupid. But as unfair as it is there's a very simple reason for it, the statistics clearly show that homosexual men are still by far the group with the highest percentage of people infected with HIV or AIDS. Of course they're not the only ones but they are still the majority of infectees. Basically it's easier for the government to make a broad stroke to try to cut down on receiving infected blood. I still agree that it's unfair but I don't think it's a policy that is motivated by any sort of prejudice or misinformation, just one of expediency.
