In Vermont it's illegal to leave your house naked. However it's not illegal to be naked in public. So you can leave your house clothed, get dressed on the lawn and walk around town naked and that's fine.

One of the worst movies of the year convinced you of this? Did "Forest Gump" make you believe all retarded people were insightful and inspiring?

Response to: Star Trek: New Trailer Posted November 29th, 2008 in General

I'm still not sold, I need to get some decent bits of these characters interacting because right now it still could go either way as to whether or not they screwed this up. It looks exciting but if it's an exciting screw up I don't care.

It's fake in the sense that it's not officially sanctioned or liscenced, which is why you can't see it. It's elaborate fan wank and the people who made it didn't have rights to the characters.

Response to: What do u think of anime?? Posted November 29th, 2008 in General

As with pretty much any genre some of it is good and alot of it stinks.

The time has come for another Chrono game or Ogre Battle.

I'll keep my old DS lite thanks.

Response to: What videogame villian. Posted November 27th, 2008 in Video Games

I'd have to go with Doctor Wily, because that would make me a Robot Master. Granted I'd have a stupid name and would probably get blown up by Mega Man but I'd have a unique cool weapon of my own.

Response to: Masculism Posted November 27th, 2008 in Politics

There are some genuine issues for men out there, the paternity issues you mentioned being a big one. And old but good example was that Charlie Chaplin was ordered to financially support a child even after blood tests confirmed it couldn't be his.

The thing is that the reason many of these issues (and masculism in general) don't get looked at is that people seem to be under the assumption that men have the good end of everything. Much like how it's generally assumed that white people have the best end of everything in all matters as well. I don't say that to undermine the plight of any females or non-whites. I understand that you've all been repressed far more often and usually more severely than any white male (and that they were probably the ones repressing you). However that doesn't mean that all men or white people live a prejudice free life.

Response to: Poli Marijuana Users? Posted November 27th, 2008 in Politics

I don't pass any more judgement on people who smoke pot than on people who drink. As long as they're doing anything stupid while actually under the influence (working, driving, or posting here) I really couldn't care less.

Response to: Sexist DQ commercial? Posted November 27th, 2008 in Politics

I think there is a bad gender image argument to be made for this commercial. But I honestly think it's funny, especially the mother's face at the end.

I don't think it was that hard for them to guess though I bet you they had alternative versions for if any of the other top contenders had one, like say if Snake won it might have been 8-Bit Snake vs. MGS Snake vs. Old Snake vs. Pliskin.

I've lost my notebook of story and joke ideas... twice! So yeah that crap sucks but you can get that stuff back it's just annoying. I lost two years worth of ideas.

Response to: What offends you? Posted November 20th, 2008 in General

Blind unfounded bigotry. Basically if you hate bald people (to pick a hypothetical example) but can't back it up with anything other than "They're just bad" and you openly hate on them I find you offensive. If you can mount a reasoned argument, I may not agree with it but I can cope with that.

Response to: Which Game Character.. Posted November 20th, 2008 in Video Games

Balthier from FFXII, he barely edged out my old choice (Locke from FFVI) by virtue of the fact that he has an airship of his own.

Response to: Legal prostitution? Posted November 17th, 2008 in Politics

I've been saying for years that Prostitution should be legal for several reasons:

1) It doesn't make logical sense that it's illegal. Legally you can go to a bar and pick up a total stranger, take them to a hotel and have sex. But if you do the exact same thing and somebody receives money suddenly it's a fellony. How can it be illegal to sell something that is legal to give away (to paraphrase George Carlin)?

2) Nearly everything that is really bad or dangerous about prostitution is a direct result of it being illegal. Rape, abuse, drugs, disease, none of these would be issues if it was legal. Prostitututes are raped and abused and can't report it because then they get busted for hooking. Pimps hook them on drugs. Because there's no required testing disease is an issue. But you look at the legal brothels in Nevada and none of these are a problem because it's all regulated.

3) We could tax the living hell out of it and help recover the economy.

Response to: The best FF of all time? Posted November 17th, 2008 in Video Games

Most people will say 7 because that was the one that reallly broke through beyond the previous fans, and people who started on that one have a hard time looking back at the older ones.

Personally I have to go with FFVI. I think it has the best cast, best story (starting with FFVII they started getting very convoluted and prior to FFVI they were a little too simple) and best music.

I think she'll be murdered for her very poor showing as a VP nominee, forget experience. She's been too exposed over the course of this past election and almost all of it in a bad way. I'm sure she'll try but it won't go anywhere.

Response to: Can anyone remeber.. Posted November 14th, 2008 in Video Games

There are tons of games where the movie rights have been bought but there's no movement being done on actually making them into movies. It's the same with books, buying the rights doesn't actually obligate you to make the movie, it just means nobody else can either.

Response to: What's with game length? Posted November 14th, 2008 in Video Games

Well first off you compared an RPG to action games, of course they don't last the same amount of time the nature of the game is totally different.

The reason old games took forever to beat was that death was much more common and you would have to start over. Alot of those old action or platforming games if you could play straight through and not die they only took a few hours (some much less).

The Pale Man from Pan's Labyrinth.

Response to: Another Disgusted Conservative Posted November 13th, 2008 in General

It's basically trickle down fashion. Young girls see their older sisters dressing like that and then they want to do it too. It's always gone on but now with slutware being the fashion of choice in some areas for teens and young adults it's lead to young girls picking up on the trend and it's kinda disturbing. Don't sweat too much though, it'll go away when the fashion trends shift again, which they always do.

Response to: Did Palin screw McCain over? Posted November 12th, 2008 in Politics

Personally I think given the strength of the campaign that Obama ran and with the main issue being the economy and not the war McCain still would have lost without Palin. But it would have been MUCH closer, not the landslide that happened. She may have empowered the republican base but alienated so many other people. And in some cases (such as my wife) she pissed people off so bad that folks who weren't planning to vote went out and did it just to keep her as far away from the whitehouse as possible.

Response to: Is shop lifting nessesarry now? Posted November 12th, 2008 in Politics

Also keep in mind that almost all shoplifting is of non essential items, crap you don't need to survive. I don't know anybody who ever got caught shoplifting food (and I'm not counting kids stealing candy bars, I'm talking serious food). It's always crap like make-up, jewelry, DVDs and stuff that people just don't want to pay for.

Response to: Executions? Posted November 12th, 2008 in Politics

Personally I'd be very scared of any country that would even consider killing an individual rather than jailing them just because of the economy.
