Same here, lot's of memories. Yeah, I'm a sucker for cheap games. On another note:

I think the future of SSB is to have more people per match(more than 4) and have DLC characters. Street Fighter is doing this, and I think it's the best way to motivate the company to make more characters. This is of course for the next console SSB, which will have to be on a new Nintendo system.

My prediction for the Next SSB is that it will be on the 3DS. The hardware on that thing could probably handle it. It won't trump brawl, but it should be a fun hand-held.

Sheesh, kids today.

Is this thread good for grammar? NO.

Also if you're willing to spend about $1000 dollars on a laptop then you really should bother getting some sort of knowledge of technical details...

Well, I was going to write "Is this this laptop good for gaming" but decide to post multiple ones and changed this to these without thinking, although I did notice the error after posting. Also, I do know what every one of these specs mean, but I am unfamiliar with the graphics card models. I could have just asked about the graphics card, but I like hearing what people have to say about other things as well.

Thanks again for your friendly reminder and contribution to this topic.

Is these laptops good for gaming? Posted June 21st, 2010 in General

I'm thinking of getting a new laptop, because my laptop has integrated graphics which cannot be upgraded. I think I should go with laptop 3 but I'm no expert, and I thought I'd get some opinions from pc gamers before making a big purchase. I know what all of these specs mean, I'm just not sure how good they would be for gaming. I want to specifically know about the graphics card, because I'm unfamiliar with these models.

So pretty much could you guys tell me which is the best for gaming, also keep in mind the ram and hard drive can be upgraded before purchase.

Thank you in advance!

Well, either you guys aren't talking about anything, or I have a lack of ability to add to existing subjects. Either way, I'm going to start a new subject...NOW!

To fully enjoy this topic, it is highly recommended to listen to this while reading it:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LPPwdlgv2 cs

Now, most of us should be at least a little informed on the subject of Meta Knight winning a vast majority of tourneys, whether it is from experience, and/ or boards. We all have asked ourselves the question:

Why is Meta Knight winning so many tourneys?

Now, I'm sure over 90% can only think of one reason:

Meta Knight is broken, unfair to use, and the game made him too good.

This translates to:

It's the game's fault.

Now, for Meta Knight to win tourneys, people have to be playing for him right? Well, the more people that play for him, you can generally say, the chances of him winning is raised. I did a minimal amount of searching, and found no articles showing the most used characters in tourneys. I am very sure though, the amount of people who use a character, greatly affects their ranking in tourneys. This presents us with a different question:

Why do so many people use Meta Knight?

Or more importantly:

Why do so many skilled people use Meta Knight?

We must go through the mind of the pro player. We must pretend we are a pro player, which has not picked a main yet. Although there are some exceptions, generally a pro sets their mind on one character, and is determined to be good with that character. You may say people play for Meta Knight based on his reputation, but how did he get his reputation? People did not receive their disk with a list of future tourney results, telling them to pick Meta Knight. They picked him for another reason. If you think hard, I think you know. Who do you want to represent you in a tourney? You want your character to be cool, someone who represents yourself. You want to play for someone who is BA (bad-ass). For those of you unaware of the definition:

Bad-Ass
1. Adjective. Having extremely favorable qualities
2. Adjective. Pertaining to a person or thing that is rugged, strong, and/or ready to show these qualities

As you can see this sums up everything we want to have represent us, and I think it's pretty obvious who is the most BA character in the game.

Jigglypuff

No, just kidding.

Meta Knight is the most BA character in the game.

For those of you not convinced, I will go over all of his qualities that help him achieve the rank of most BA. When you think about any of your favorite heroes, they all have an enemy. Many of them have another person who they don't know whether to fear, or embrace. He is definitely evil, but he has a code of honor, and at times, even joins the forces of good. This makes him extremely cool for some reason, and Meta Knight is that character in his series. There are other evil characters in the game, but they are the main villain, not the side one as I have explained.

Not only is he evil, but he is very mysterious. He is always wearing a very cool mask that only reveals his yellow eyes. No one has even seen his face! He has no background, no history, and no apparent reason for his actions. And what makes a character cooler than a cape? It is a respected costume piece worn for the sole purpose of making you look cooler. Even better, his cape turns into wings, which allow him to fly. They aren't the gay fairy wings either, they are BA bat wings. We will now examine his weapon, a sword. It is the most popular weapon among videogame heroes, and his is very unique. It seems to be made of gold, and its design is rigged, not long and straight. It also has a red jewel of some sort embedded in it. Not only does he have an awesome sword, but he has his own army, complete with battleship.

After all this we have come to the conclusion:

Meta Knight wins a vast majority of tourneys because is the most played character. He is the most played character because he is the most BA character.

I hope this has been an informing experience. And has opened your eyes to the true reason why Meta Knight is winning all the tourneys. The answer is not banning him, but we must make him less BA. I suggest we make it tourney standard to use a set of textures for Meta Knight that unmasks him, removes his cape, and makes his sword plain and regular. If possible we can petition for Nintendo to release a new game featuring our new Meta Knight, being Kirby's new sidekick, without being evil at all, or even being that strong.

Response to: Super Smash Brothers Crew (Ssbc) Posted August 13th, 2009 in Clubs & Crews

So, there's really nothing to add to how pit is heightened by noobs so... I'm going to start a new subject.

Kirby is a noob character.

Now that's too general, noob can mean too many things: people new to the game, inexperienced players, bad players. I'll say it less generally. I'm not saying playing Kirby makes you a noob. Also, this is mostly for casual players, who do not go on smash forums, or know what tier means.

Kirby is a popular choice of character by casual inexperienced/new players.

Now that all the clarification is out of the way I shall explain why Kirby is a popular choice of character by inexperienced/new players.

First, multiple jumps automatically adds a character to an inexperienced/new player's top choices. Then, his attacks have a good selection, he has a good recovery move that can be spammed as a projectile (it isn't the best tactic, but they still like to use it). He has the continuous punch that if done right, can trap a player for a little but, or forever if the person doesn't know how to get out (which can be done by mashing the control stick). To add, he actually has a move that makes you invulnerable and lets you smash your opponents from above. That is too good for them to resist, and if that wasn't enough...

HE IS THE ONLY ONE IN THE GAME THAT HAS THE ABILITY TO SUCK UP OPPONENTS AND TAKE THEIR ABILITY!

OMG, that breaks all the rules, I must play for him. Like what's better than stealing your opponent's moves? Not to mention, if you don't want to take their ability, you can walk around and jump off the cliff, far enough so they can't recover, or suicide.

I hope I have successfully taken you though the eyes of a "noob", and it's perfectly normal if you have a slight urge to play for Kirby now. It will go away though, don't worry.

Hey guys, just thought I'd pop in. Since when were we the Pheonix Wright role-play crew? Looks like the the crew is still up and running. I've been real busy doing eveything, but going on newgrounds. I don't plan to start being the most active member, but I'm going to start checking every once and awile. Not much to talk about Smash brothers wise anymore. Brawl has gotten old, and there is no news of a sequal.

If any of you want to contact me quickly the best was would probably be by e-mail or msn messenger.

Multiple walls. Posted March 19th, 2009 in Game Development

I got one of my walls to work, and I'm looking for an easy way to make lots of them. I tried giving the same instance name, but that didn't work, and then I tried drawing all the walls as one symbol, but it blocked me in parts where there was no wall. Can someone help me with this or direct me to a tutorial that can help me?

Wall problems... Posted March 17th, 2009 in Game Development

I'vebeen trying to make walls for awile and they never work no matter what tutorial I'm using. This is the code I'm currently using:

onClipEvent (load) {

man = fireball2;

}
onClipEvent (enterFrame) {
if (this.hitTest(_root.man)) {
_root.man._y -=5;
}
}

onClipEvent (enterFrame) {
if (this.hitTest(_root.man)) {
_root.man._y +=5;
}
}

onClipEvent (enterFrame) {
if (this.hitTest(_root.man)) {
_root.man._x +=5;
}
}

onClipEvent (enterFrame) {
if (this.hitTest(_root.man)) {
_root.man._y -=5;
}
}

I put this on a rectangle i converted to a movie clip. I want it to block movement from all side. What am I doing wrong?

What i mean is the symbol will always move at a preset speed toward the mouse.
So...it won't just stick to the mouse, instead keep moving at say....5 pixels per frame towards the mouse, wherever it is?

I think I can whip something up for that, give me a minute or two.

Thanks a bunch, I don't know how to do many things since I'm very new at flash, as you can probably tell.

I usually play the game looking ahead to the last level, picking units and sticking with them. This time though I'm looking ahead to having the best units for pvp, so I'm not using any of my power ups like spirit dust, and saving them for the pvp.

I'm also leaving all of my good weopons intact. I'm also .using the areana now. I never used the areana in the other games because I didn't need it to beat the game, but in this game my people need to beat others.

So, all the characters I use in pvp I plan to have max stats in all that matters for them and max level of course. I'll be able to do that be abusing the areana, saving my power-ups and using only a few characters in the battle field.

Just thought I'd give you a heads up on my plans for the ultimate pvp team.

Wow, I hadn't been here for so long and completely forgot about the US release since I played the Euro one. I'm sad to say I never beat the game, but I might finish it if you guys want to battle. One thing i don't like about battleing is that the one dragon you get at the end is invinsible, the only one who can beat her is herself. So whoever attacks first I guess. Also hi azn, I didn't expect you to post here, glad to have you though. hope to battle you guys soon.

Also:
-Would anyone rather two more characters in exchange for the SSE?
-Would you rather the melee system of gameplay in exchange for all pit, meta, toon link, ike, wolf, and wario?
-Would you rather five more characters for there to be no items in this game?
