Hey guys, I'm having the "horizontal lines moving up and down on my screen" problem as well as a very annoying humming sound. Yes, I've googled it, but most sources are requiring the purchase of somekind of surge protector (if this is an ovular, beige-tan device that has multiple sockets on the front than my PS3 is already plugged into it).

I heard there was another method of "permanently" removing the lines and the buzzing by apparenly UNPLUGGING the ground cable from behind your TV, though the exact process was not specified.

Now, again, I'm not familiar with the lingo setup. There IS a kind of plug that is on the back of my television that heads IMMEDIATELY into the carpet, I was a kid when my parents put this in so how far exactly it was set in I'm not sure. I once tried PULLING THE PLUG before I knew or guessed exactly what it was before, I've tried pulling it out before, but I doubt it plans to agree with me. If I do pull it out, do I risk any immediate damage to my television? Does this strategy even work?

You know guys, it just struck me.

You know how people say Mystic Gohan COULDN'T have been stronger than Goku at SSJ3 level despite Goku admitting being amazed at Gohan's dramatic power increase/the fact that through genetic basis Gohan would inevitably be stronger than Goku; Because Gohan-Mystic couldn't fight off Buutenkscclo?

I've been thinking. Majin Buu makes a point mentally when he says "The power of Gotenks and the mind of Piccolo. Unstoppable..."

He was using Piccolo's intelligence and wisdom in TANDEM with his strength, because when ya' think about it, he and Gohan were evenly-matched for a BIT of the fight. He was using his smarts; Think about it, Piccolo has known Gohan since he was a CHILD, hell, he TRAINED Gohan twice. He knows all of his moves, his weak points, his attitude, and just how much power to expend.

Plus you've got the fact that it was Gotenks-Piccolo's power stacked on top of Buu's own. PRETTY DAMN DEADLY.

Don't believe this evidence? Think back to the Frieza saga. Piccolo goes on to ADMIT that his power, even AFTER fusing with Nail, was STILL very below Frieza's second form, but he himself a wiser fighter. I mean, he WAS losing for the first half, and then he fought with his cool. SMARTS > BRAWN.

Piccolo is like Batman, enough prep time and he kicks your ass. That's EXACTLY what Buutenkscclo was thinking/knew, so he had power rivaling a Super Saiyan and Piccolo's experience. The fight itself was already in Buu's favor, plus he was unnerving Gohan after eating his little brother, among other things.

Goku himself may or may not have been equal to Buutenkscclo (I'm still watching the episodes on my boxset - I'm getting to that fight.), but I recall as a child that neither Goku OR Vegeta were really a match for Buu in those states. Vegeta couldn't have won, and Goku wouldn't have long as a SSJ3, and knowing DBZ filler, he wouldn't have beaten Buu in the time limit anyways.

As it stands IMO: Mystic Gohan is the strongest, non-fused character in the accepted canon of DBZ.

Web Configurator Test Failed >:( Posted September 20th, 2009 in General

Is anybody else going through this? I'm running a Vista and I usually use Firefox though I use Internet Explorer 9-10 (?) whenever FX fails me and I may stick to it depending on how long it is until I receive this message again:

"Web Configurator Test Failed"

Try contacting your ISP.
Check your modem - BLAblabla! I don't even use a modem directly! I use a router!

Its really annoying, and I think its 60% of all the bad things that have happened or gone wrong with my computer. If it wasn't present, my life would be so much sweeter. Faster Youtube videos, games that didn't lag, opening pages and saving pages without fear of losing them or having to reset the page. Because my Vista is pretty new, its not corrupted or infected or bogged down in fact I even gave it a shoeshine with CCLeaner but it seems that this Web Configurator continues to torment me.

Help?

Of course, back then, I didn't know what Newgrounds or the INTERNET was, and golly gee I was shocked to see so many "Mario vs Sonics" out there. And then there was SMBZ - that drove me through a tailspin. And Power Star - And Megaman the Last Cataclysm.

Response to: We've forgotten 9/11 Posted September 11th, 2009 in General

I'm overall alienated from a lot of you, I didn't lost anyone that I'm aware of. I had some family who were in New York at the time, that's as close as I'll ever get to it.

In 9th grade, they showed us a video of people getting flung from the Towers. I'm like a rock, I don't cry easy unless its a personal conflict, but I felt like an arrow had lodged itself in my heart when I saw a girl from my class named Erica actually break down and tear while the video played, I didn't ask her if she had lost anyone but she was UPSET. As were dozens of others. That kind of thing makes me feel for this day...

But the excessive nature of this event is beginning to aggravate me. Censorship and utter removal of LESS THAN OBSCURE, VAGUE, IF ALMOST NOT COMPLETELY INVISIBLE "references" to this so-called incident and the like.

We censor like its a freaking sport. Editing everything we don't like in our lives like it was a bad dream. I've always been told that things like Slavery, the Revolution, the Holocaust, and the like can never be forgotten because they were important, they were gritty and disconcerting but we shouldn't stagger at them and remove ourselves, but learn from them.

What do you think America is doing with 9/11, learning or retreating from it?

Response to: We've forgotten 9/11 Posted September 11th, 2009 in General

I agree with my mom. I'm tired of 9/11. And now its a national holiday, where our social studies teachers will make the amount of additional time we spend being charitable worth our grade point average. Joy.

No cause is pointless as long as there's one fool willing to fight for it. The rest of you are just lazy. Maybe I'll lose my memory one day, but I'll be a 56-year old man with a loving wife and kids, with a decent or extraordinary job in a warm home, on a computer competing with others to keep my life busy. But until that day, the video games stay. If you don't want to help me, then ignore me and go away.

Ultimate Suck - Corrupted Ps2 Data Posted September 6th, 2009 in Video Games

So its the time of the year again for me, yup. That's right. The time of the year where I run through some of my old childhood games, no matter how pathetically easy, ridiculously hard, or shoddily done they were made, to reactivate some nostaligia in my life.

I'm sitting down here with Dragonball Z Budokai, the VERY ORIGINAL before all of those 2s and 3s and Blasts and spin-offs. Believe it or not, I was AWESOME at this game, I beat the entire story mode in TWO days, the Cell fight and Frieza fights became epic gaming moments for me. When I say this, I say this with my heart to you all...

The memory card I have the data for this game, as well as its sequels and other early games, has the best parts of my CHILDHOOD imprinted on it.

So when I booted up the game, as you're probably guessing, the screen tells me "Load failed. The memory card may possess corrupted data."

This...

o_o

Was my face when that happened. I have about 4 memory cards and over the years I may have shuffled some old games between them, but this one had my "100%" game data on it. I don't know where to be pissed, or extremely disheartened.

That is where anyone reading this comes in. Yes, I've Googled it and searched it. Yes, I've referenced. I wouldn't be making this thread here if I had already found a better source. Does anyone know if there is any LOGICAL method of restoring/saving corrupted data, retrieving it actually?

I once heard from a friend a long time ago that if you save the corrupted data onto another memory card, the data will be A-OK on the second one. I just tried it, and I can safely confirm that that rumor is a load of bull excretion.

Guys, the real reason there will never be another SSB is because there's NOTHING LEFT TO CALL IT.

Think about it:

Super Smash Brothers.
Super Smash Brothers Melee.
Super Smash Brothers Brawl.

I know, I know.

Super Smash Brothers Combat.
Super Smash Brothers Vendetta.
Super Smash Brothers Emissary.
Super Smash Brothers Battle.

But those are ALL CRAP and you all know it.

That site killed it, but it sure was fun.

I had a friend who followed that site EVERY day, I figured they were only releasing info on weekends but I was wrong. I stopped a fourth of the way when it finally beat into my brain that I was spoiling everything, and I was.

But I doubt there'll be another SSB. The idea's just too old. It's overused by this point as well.

All three Brawls.
Viewtiful Joe Red Hot Rumble.
Onimusha Blade Warriors.
The TNT Game.
And a few more I'm sure of but can't recall.

Still, those were some fun days.

Response to: L4D2 Racist? Posted August 29th, 2009 in Video Games

Why does Newgrounds always pick the controversal route? Why are news sites so fucking retarded? Because they know that trolling such issues gets idiots and flamers like us all riled up, it gets them views and hits and all those wonderful things you get when people know your name.

If L4D shows me the four main characters, two of which are black, pissing on zombies, taking dumps in their carcusses, ripping open their throats and calling them "n-'s", making a whole bunch of racial slurs about the zombies, and the two white characters get to start off better-equipped and better prepared and outright superior to the two black ones, without ANY substantial reason as to why in a game like L4D where surivival, teamwork, and cohesion are necessary, than its racism.

Do you think the developers are releasing this game solely to spite black people? They're going to sell games and avoid lawsuits by degrading black people in a video game, and they plan to sequel it by making fun of Hispanics and Asians in the next game?

If L4D shows me the four main characters, two of which are white, corkscrewing and chainsawing zombies, smashing people in the face with frying pans, blowing heads open, clotheslining zombies, picking up molotov cocktails and starting forest fires, and all of the characters have an equal chance to get where they need to be and what they need to have to survive, with an obviously awesome storyline depicting their seperate histories, then it's awesome.

Do we really need to discuss for the fiftieth fucking time why black characters in anything being killed is bad? I myself find it intriguing, its not racist at all, hell, it'd be worse saying there were ONLY white or black people in the game, its like the developers were either single-minded or lazy, and the case is USUALLY the latter. I'm black myself and I found Resident Evil 5 and Left 4 Dead to both be enjoyable games, why does the skin color of something that's DEAD even MATTER to people!?

People are always looking for attention, those dirty whores!

You know, you have to give Liquid Ocelot credit. He actually stayed in SHAPE and kicked Snake's ass, while Snake was all scarred and bruised and flabby and had to wear a muscle suit. Ocelot...the dude was ripped, and the only thing he had as an advantage were the serums and the synthetic arm. And Snake got a good...err...dose of those syringes too, so it was fair.

Not rocket science, really.

And I think all this "Kill your characters only for them to come back x months later" bullshit is tiring. I swear to god, they've done it with the Green Lantern, The Flash, Captain America, Superman, Batman, and probably a few other comic heros who I don't care to name.

Lol. I only put those anyway because the title wouldn't fill all of the characters. And you forgot about Wonder Woman, I know she's had a WHOLE bunch of deaths/rebirths due to the whole "connection" and "service" to the gods thing.

So Who Failed? Marvelcap Or Dcbat? Posted August 22nd, 2009 in General

As it turns out, Captain America ISN'T REALLY DEAD (OMG, I never would have guessed, I figured they were finally ready to retire the old dog and he would just appear in metaphor and spirit!)

His mind has actually been TRANSPORTED over time and space, even though it appears as though he was only "wtf-shot" by a rogue sniper who was allegedly his nemesis, the Red Skull. He is now viewing his life during World War 2 and onward.

In a similar turn of events, Batman got FRIED (And I mean CHARBROILED) by Darkseid's hadouken hand blasters (the Omega Sanction). You know, Batman actually BROKE his own "no gun rule" and knee-capped Darkseid.

But he's not really dead. Instead, the Sanction doesn't KILL its victims, it sends them years back in time, and he's now invisibly watching events in the past while slowing heading BACK to the future.

If you still want to play runescape for some reason just do it without a membership for about twenty minutes until you get bored.

Its not jsut the age qualifications.

Halo BORES me.

I was playing at my friend's house, it was a small match but it was multiplayer. Later, I played what I remember being a 9 or 10-player LAN match at my school's "Gaming Club" thanks to the power of two united 360s. It was fun, THEN, being around FRIENDS in PERSON.

But the online? Ha, it just gets stale. Get pwned by a sniper rifle, respawn, get pwned by a battle rifle, respawn, do this really cool jump then get NO SCOPED right in the crotch, respawn. The ONLY new content, unlike TF2, that gets updated are the MAPS, and there are no "special" environmental hazards or features to mix up the gameplay since the game was released.

Well, I won't let this become an Anti-Halo thread. Because honestly, I HAVEN'T PLAYED RUNESCAPE IN NEARLY A YEAR BY NOW, BWAAAHAHA.

It got boring too. I COULD have gotten a membership, but all the Members are stuck-up assholes who think they're better than everyone else and often go into the public servers to have the free players worship them. I got tired of their crap and stopped playing for a LONG time after that, and I even forgot my old password now that I think on it. I'd only go on to see if I could "maybe" start a clan of friends.

Plus all the updates they've made since I last played make me feel like I went from Wonderland to the Matrix.

Oh you wait for it.

MGS Rising will have two story modes: One featuring Solid's Snake's time with Philanthropy or maybe his early years, while the other will be about Raiden's mission to save Sunny from the Patriots. 360 will play as Raiden majorily with Snake as flashbacks/memoirs, and PS3 will get the reverse.

Halo (or a future game) will be released on PS4, and you'll play as Covenant on PS4 and Marine on 360.

Team Fortress 2 will feature an exclusive "green team" with all-new members on PS3.

And heck, why not, the next Spiderman/Superhero game will feature either a good or bad superhero judging on how much money you spend on your console.

He might need a suit that renders him practically invisible in an urban setting and have all the guns a man should ever need and more for practically free. He might be tagged by a ROB with enough watts in it to electrocute someone unconscious. And he MAY be sterile.

But the point is...Old people are full of wisdom and valor, they are humanity's greatest yet most vulnerable, and Solid Snake has joined that pantheon of legends.

And really, I already KNEW 360 owners were getting something, they just wanted to get bitchy about it and use it as another platform to insult Sony because they can't handle PS3 having anything they don't. It was obvious from the moment the Joker trailer came out even, and even then, Microsoft would have realeased Joker on the XBL Marketplace ANYWAY except they would charge for it like they always do. Joker was NEVER an exclusive, just a betting wager that they'd reap in some higher sales from people who just came off of the The Dark Knight. :)

Though, actually, I was expecting them to receive Catwoman or Nightwing or Robin or maybea less bulky Bane/strong guy to use.
