I made a topic on converting MIDIs to wav directly (full quality) with FL Studio.

You can read the thread here, if you want to use it for the conversion.

Response to: Food Poisoning Posted December 13th, 2005 in NG News

I went on a European trip several years ago. I got food poisoning as well. I'm not sure which country I got it from, but I spent 3/4 of my of the trip barfing my guts out in Spain, France, and Germany. Orange juice was the only thing I could keep down. Not even water.

Luckily, when it was time for the flight home, I was healthy enough to eat solid food and not puke again. Throwing up in an airplane was the last thing I wanted to do. Just drink plenty of liquids and wait it out. There's nothing much you can do about it. Taking a long warm shower/bath seemed to help. (It was nice to take a bath in our German hotel room because they had speakers from the TV in the next room built in to the walls next to the tub.)

Response to: Newgrounds Voice Posted November 25th, 2005 in General

I'm the one who made that sound, and I'm glad you enjoy it. That voice was not made with Speakonia or any other text-to-speech engine. It was actually my own voice being manipulated by a program called a vocoder with a raw saw wave as the carrier signal.

However, that sound is currently on my old hard drive (I have bought a new computer since then). If you are okay with waiting a little while, I will be able to send you the file once I buy the appropiate hardware to be able to use my old internal drive externally.

Otherwise, you may be better off e-mailing Afro_Ninja for it. I'm not sure if he has the original sound file in full quality, though.

Don't submit it to ebaums!! This is why I was apprehensive about releasing these calls to the internet... People spreading it without letting me know!

Whoa, now. I have about 4 years of audio experience now. I can't just teach you how to make the kind of effects like I did over night. Not only that, but there is software that you don't have, as well as hardware. Don't expect to be doing things like this if you're not going to invest a lot of time and money!

You need an audio card that is compatible with ASIO drivers. Then you'll be able to select your microphone as an input in to one of the mixer channels.

I really tried to stay away from that kind of material because everyone has heard it before. One of the things that makes these prank calls funny and original is that the person on the other end of the line is dealing with something they're totally not used to!

Response to: I made a quick prank call. Posted October 19th, 2005 in General

The setup I used isn't professional in any way. Here's a breakdown of it.

I have a normal PC with a microphone that is connected to the external portion of my audio card. The microphone input goes in to one of the effects channels in FL Studio. The voice is then edited (real-time) by some VST plugins. My computer's audio output is then split in two. One of the outputs goes in to an old '94 apple computer's microphone input, used by some phone software, and the other goes to my computer speakers (So I can listen to the call after it's recorded. They are turned off during recording).

The phone line is connected the apple computer. The audio output of the apple computer is also split in two. One of the connections goes to a pair of headphones so I can listen to what the person on the phone is saying, and the other goes directly back in to my computer so it can be recorded.

It's kind of hard to hear, but after you hear him say that my mother sucked his cock, someone in the background said "Dude he's just a little kid!"

Suckers!

I made a quick prank call. Posted October 18th, 2005 in General

I was just messing around with some audio equipment today and decided to make a quick prank call with it. It really speaks for itself. It's not that great or anything but it sure was fun to do it.

I love how they hand the phone of to eachother to get their laughs. It's funny because they actually thought I was a little child.

The best part is when they drop the phone after I change my voice to something really low =)

Just listen.

Have you ever had staff boots? No. You're way too dumb to have ever become staff. Instead of making assumptions about how things work, realize how LITTLE you know about how the game runs.

Dumbass.

This is real. Not faked, and you have absolutely no idea what you're talking about.

I didn't set it up. It really happened. I am aware of the WoW sex thing. That is what actually gave me the motivation to get all the screen captures and make a small webpage about it. I thought it was pretty funny.

I caught this all myself, and it really made my day.

This happened on Graal Online. A game that I am staff on, so take a look.

I don't value your respect that much so I'm going to keep this short.

The only power that Audio Mods have is to either approve or ban a person when they FIRST submit. As it is right now, it is easy to abuse the system. All you have to do is submit something that is yours, even if it is crap, get it approved, and then you can upload ANYTHING you want. They ARE working on giving the mods more abilities.

You're pretty much dead wrong everywhere else, too. It is most likely that the Audio Portal will have a system just like the Flash Portal.

Newgrounds don't give a half shit about the Audio Portal anyways; our only function is to provide music for Flashes, not to be creative, not to post our work to see what others thing about it, not for any of the same reasons that the Flash Portal exists. just give up people and go on with your lives.

Quit being an emotional fool and realize that the Flash portal has been around for numerous years more than the Audio Portal. Just think of how much time the Flash Portal had to be tuned and refined. You need to give it time, because the NG crew has a LOT in store for everything, including the Audio Portal. In the meantime, be grateful for NG being such a great host for your music. They host it on their server for free, let it be transferred for free, and provide you with the people who listen to your music in the first place.

As for the user stealing music, I'll see that it gets taken care of.

Response to: I need some help on FL Studio Posted August 24th, 2005 in Audio

I already answered your question in the thread you posted in the General forum. Check there.

Response to: Can anyone help me out on FL Studio Posted August 24th, 2005 in General

You need ASIO drivers / ASIO compatible sound card in order to be able process audio input in real-time.

If you had that set up, you'd be able assign the microphone a mixer track by selecting it in the input drop-down menu in the bottom left on the mixer.

Response to: For those that likes my music... Posted August 4th, 2005 in Audio

I personally don't think there's much of a point in using Reason with the skills you have in Fruityloops now. You're already able to get the same sounds out of FL as you can with Reason. Not only that, but FL can use VST, so that's a big plus.

If, through your course of learning Reason, you ever want to use Reason, just ReWire it and do whatever. I find that the biggest advantage of using Reason ReWired to Fruityloops is using it to read refills. There seem to be a lot more refill resources than there are with soundbanks, and that's where Reason can come in real handy.
