So far these are all basically pictures of peoples' computers. Here's something of mine a little closer to a studio.
The average score of a user's top 3 flash submissions.

You're going to have to pay money for a product regardless of what is being advertised. Most VSTs are much cheaper than the audio software itself.
If beginners are the target group of customers, I´d definitley recommend Propellerheads Reason, due to it being a closed program and having no VST support.
But people who already make music are already going to have their choice for software. Reason isn't going to be very attractive to new audio artists. It can be $400-500.
I personally wouldn't recommend Reason to a beginner, either. Lack of VST support has nothing to do with its ease of use. VSTs are plugins, and therefore options.
On another thought, this would actually kind of cripple Newgrounds from getting VST advertisers in, if it would be a dedicated "reason webpage", but then again nothing says that a partnershop with propellerheads (or any other software) would last forever...
Yes. If Reason was partnered with NG and dominated the audio portal advertisements, VSTs would be out of the picture. There are, however, companies that create and sell Reason ReFills. I don't believe that's nearly as popular as VSTs though. (I don't think it's cool that Reason doesn't support them to begin with)
I just wanted to add that a couple of companies (Such as iZotope and Voxengo) make products that would be helpful to audio authors regardless of what type of music they are making.
The thing about advertising FL studio or Reason is that basically everybody knows about it, and a very large part of audio authors already use it.
I think a possibly more effective thing to advertise would be VST plug ins. VST plug ins are basically extra tools and instruments that greatly expand the capability of music creation software, work in a large host of programs, and have a high rate of usage. Programs that can utilize VST plug ins have already been mentioned by other users, such as FL Studio, Acid, CakeWalk, Cubase, Audacity, and beyond.
There are many companies that make incredible VST plug ins and also have a very large product line. They are much more affordable and probably more likely to catch the interest of somebody who already is an audio author.
There's a good assortment of companies that would be great to see advertising in the audio portal. These include:
rgc:audio
reFX
Synapse Audio
LinPlug
Those four companies above make amazing software synthesizers.
There's also some companies that make VST tools to master and balance music, which would be of great help to many audio authors. I can easily imagine these companies wooing audio authors with their ads =]
iZotope (They make one of the greatest mastering plugins ever)
Voxengo
These companies are definitely worth checking out, and would likely present products to audiophiles that they didn't know they needed #;-)>

I would have thought I responded to you, but perhaps I didn't. PMs complaining about bans are the easiest to overlook.
If you're saying that you have been rightfully banned, but now want to submit legitimate music (I'm guessing this is the case, because in your PM you said "I use Fruityloops now"), I suggest you re-read my response in the other thread you visited not too long ago.
Again, I'll say it here. The only way (as of now) to get unbanned from audio submission is to contact an administrator. Audio mods do not have the ability to do it themselves.
According to Tourette's Guy's impersonation of Robert Stack, host of the TV show "Unsolved Mysteries", nobody gives a shit about bigfoot.
Not to be one of those idiots who posts 'nobody gives a shit' without anything relevant to the topic
You say you've read about the synth, but haven't you heard it? If you heard it and you were decent at sound creation, it wouldn't be much of a problem to create at all.
If I remember correctly, it's basically a rough lead with oscillators of varying pitch, and a rise and fall in the global pitch. Think about it; the sound itself is named after a vacuum cleaner, and it doesn't sound too far for one either. The sound isn't exactly pretty and would be pretty hard to implement in to music.
If you want to hear it, as well as read about its history, click this link. You'll be taken to an electronic music guide. Under sounds, click "Hoover".
In order to help diagnose this problem, you need to give everyone the information necessary to replicate the problem, such as the browser in particular, or if you have faced any login issues.
That looks like everybody's good friend, caffeine.
Although I could probably suggest a dozen better ways of doing this, a simple solution would be to insert some silence before the actual beat part starts. You could do this with Audacity and save it as a wav again. It will give you some time to prepare, and since you know the exact amount of silence you have entered, you should know when to start playing.

Incorrect. Admins can and will remove audio bans if the situation warrants it.

What exactly is an "audio review mod"?
Anyway, here's the deal, Zerobeam. The first step you should take is to PM Wade and explain your current situation to him. As long as you realize the error you have made and have the intention to submit legitimate music, you will have a chance at getting another chance. If Wade doesn't respond to you for a long time, send me a PM and I will mention your situation to him the next time I give him an update on audio portal happenings.
Remember that when (and if) your ban is lifted, you will have to go through the initial screening process once again, so your techno loop had better be original!
I used to be hit on by this gay guy who was five or so years older than me. He used to be a monitor in a computer lab I frequented when I was taking college classes during high school. He'd ask me things like "Do you have a gay identical twin brother?".
He even used a program to monitor my computer and occasionally take control of it. I eventually got pretty sick of this and notified the lady who was in charge of all computer labs across campus. After the weekend he wasn't there anymore.
Speaking of McDonald's, they're actually "testing out" using some real quality angus beef in their burgers at a handful of their restaurants in Los Angeles.
At least people can get fat in a slightly tastier fashion. It's about time their beef catches up to their chicken.
Don't eat there anyway.
The answer is "Idlewild" and it was released on December 6th.
I have no idea who Outkast is, let alone listen to their music, but a quick Google search (with a check on multiple sources to come to a confirmed answer) led me to this.
Have people forgotten about Vibes this quickly?
There is no real answer to your question, because the "weight" of a 0 vote depends heavily on the voting power of the person who casts it, the number of votes the submission already has, and the submission's current score.
There have been many measures taken to ensure people aren't constantly casting abusive votes on under judgment submissions. As far as cleared submissions go, though, there don't seem to be any voting restrictions. This is best made manifest by the current #1 of all time submission; a movie which was mass-voted the night before to climb the ranks.
I wrote a bunch of crappy reviews back in late 2001 when I joined. That was the time when Strawberry Clock made his rise to power. I was the typical 14 year old idiot who went through all of his submissions, ranting about how much I hate the clock crew, how their submissions sucked, and how much SBC deserved to get ran over by a car and etc. I had Wade clear all of my reviews a while ago to rid myself them.
They're not quite done. As of now there are 171 icons waiting to be approved by icon mods. There's a chance that some of them will be rejected and put back on the list.
School has a firm grip on me at this time, though. I'm sure the list will be complete after the weekend #;-)>
I don't know. I'd rather have them hot and dripping wet fresh out of the shower. I don't think my girl would like having shit flung at her.
The game is over the file size limit, so I'm assuming it was uploaded by an admin, who put it on the front page while they were at it.
Liljim told me I could make some loops as well a while ago. I got distracted with life, ended up not doing it for a while, and came back to him a month or so ago. At that point he told me he doesn't think the music player will be on the front page of the audio portal after the update.
Oh well!
Just got finished making my current sig, at which point I was curious about this thread. I've never really visited it before.
Looks like you guys have been burning the candle at both ends making all of these. This is the only forum I've ever seen where users so readily make sigs for other users, and that's very cool.
I might lend a hand sometime. I'm pretty sure you'll all be busy when the redesign comes out with a change in signature dimensions.
The list is a one time deal, from a point at which I was able to obtain the list due to a glitch in the audio portal moderation system.

It's too bad this contest smothers my last week of classes this semester + finals week.
Well done nonetheless.
You don't have a port number. Ports are basically channels that can direct an internet connection to a specific application.
I believe websites are accessed (via browser) through ports 80 and 8080 by default.

Oh you'd be more than level 20. Trust me #;-)>
I remember going a couple of months where I'd just ignore the "click here to deposit your experience!" link. That's right. I just wouldn't bother clicking it.
And that's aside from a year or so of just not depositing.
Nice company here, though.

LOL were you banned or something RageVI
Nope, that's not me.
I don't think I can even be BBS banned due to my moderator status in other parts of the site.
Congratulations indeed. I'm seeing the green.
Now get out of the BBS mod lounge and wave
