LOL the more blam points you have the "less" your voting power is

Response to: What the hell? Posted April 14th, 2003 in General

Thanks for voting, RageVI!
Your experience points gave you a voting power of -3.12 votes. Your blam and protection points gave you an additional 16% of your experience power, meaning that your total vote power was worth -3.62 votes!

The more experience points you have combined with BLAM and PROTECTION points, the more your vote is worth!

You gave this entry a 2, raising its score to 0.44!
If this movie is protected you will get a PROTECTION point!
Your experience points have been deposited already today. Thanks for doing the overtime!

Response to: Spamming NG with Outwar links! Posted April 11th, 2003 in NG News

Dont forget to also do your part by reporting the spammer to the outwar staff, if you are spammed into an outwar page, there should be a link that says "report this spammer" where you can flag the user and add a description of how they are spamming their link, it could get their outwar account deleted

Response to: WTF? the audio portal Posted April 4th, 2003 in General

Yeah we should get blam and protection points for the audio portal. It'd probably ensure that submissions get the score they deserved

and XVI...aren't you a submitter there too? Did you get affected?

Like i said, it'll just be a little voting war, god forbid true skill be involved

WTF? the audio portal Posted April 4th, 2003 in General

I've noticed that there are people who are voting 0 on other people's submissions, including mine, and then voting 5 of their own. I just noticed every entry in techno just lost .25-2 off its score, and then two entries out of the blue from the same author being placed in #1 and #2

I also noted that with the score my song had, people HAD to have voted 0's on it to knock it down, and nobody in their right mind would vote that unless it favored them...I dont want the audio portal to turn into some pissyfit voting war... would could be done to help this shituation?

Response to: About the audio portal Posted April 3rd, 2003 in General

Thanks for following up on this thread, I appreciate it

No.. that person's song is not on that website. It was on the file information on the song file, though.

And I emailed Tom about this

I really wanted things like this to be taken care of and additional measures to be taken...it sucks when you're making your own work and they're submitting ub3r-experienced people's work

MustardGT - I read your post about one of your tracks disappearing the other day, but still haven't gotten to the bottom of it. Will try and do so soon.

All the tracks are stolen. One of them he edited and made crappier.

Song: "Getting in it"
original title: Oscarparty
original author: Pich@ard
author's website: http://stage.vitaminic.co.uk/pilchard

Song: "Dreaming on *2*"

original author: Vlad
I dont have the author's website (if any) but I do have his email, but I wont post it here

Response to: About the audio portal Posted April 3rd, 2003 in General

Taken from submission rules..

When you submit your audio, please be aware:

You are making the legal claim that it is your own original work.
---
And they're small, presequenced songs. At first I considered the possibility that the author was genuine, but then I saw that two submissions are from two different authors

The two authors are named Pilch@rd and Vlad. Vlad's song says copyright, too (He even says he must give hand-written permission for the song's use on mp3.com)

About the audio portal Posted April 3rd, 2003 in General

Yeah...I'm an artist and I just submitted my first mp3 into the audio portal, into the techno section. I look at the other top songs in techno to see what others there are, and I find that one user has like 3 top scores submitted a few songs that come with the fruityloops program (i.e. STOLEN)

I just flagged two as stolen for review (the other one he played around with someone elses song and made it suck...I can present proof, too), but how are the reviewers going to be sure on this? The flagging option, like for flash movies, needs to have a place where you explain your suspicion of it being stolen, or at least some way to contact the user who flagged the submissions...otherwise, the reviewers may just make the same decision, which was to clear the guy for submission anyway. This is important to me!
